There might be an obvious answer for this but should I scale up my projects 1080p sequence settings to be 4k before exporting? In the media encoder there appears to be a black box around my project now.
I just want to say a massive thank you. I was so grateful when I found your first videos. Was super worried when I saw the change in export screen. Can't tell you how grateful I am. I've no clue, and your export settings, explanations were crucial for my video editing, so thank you!!
Dude, I must have done close to 50 exports/youtube uploads testing different settings because I was getting a very grainy/pixelated 1080 video. Exporting in 4k fixed almost everything. Thank you!
I only shoot in 1080 but I did these settings and the image quality is significantly better. Yes the file is bigger and the rendering time was significantly longer, but the results are worth it. Thanks Matt for another great video!
When you say significantly longer I’m rendering a 5 second 4K clip and it’s taking over 10 mins, I’m using a MacBook Pro M1. With normal 4K rendering it takes seconds but with Matt’s setting well over 10 mins. Is this what you are experiencing?
@@sambrad94 I similar computer and my export rate is rather quick usually but my export time is currently saying 27 hours for a 17 minute video - is this normal?
@@baileyannoriginal a 3 minute video clip I just exported, that would normally take 10 minutes, took an hour. Getting same results, so yes, it looks like export times are extended by quite a bit!
My export time is over 50 hours - I’m running a MacBook Pro M1. Video is 25 minutes long. These export settings don’t seem feasible to me. Any suggestions?
These settings solved something very unexpected. With UA-cam 4K preset, I was getting this error on my huge 4k videos 'File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of filname.mp4. Reading and writing this file's metadata (XMP) has been disabled' (exporting to m.2 with 1.5TB free space) Now, with these new setting, it exported withot an error and the quality is better too😃 Now lets see what YT thinks about h265🤓 Thank you so much, Matt and keep up the good work👍
Everyone should have to watch this video before doing anything with editing software. You make it easy to understand and demonstrate your talent for video making as well.
I truly cannot thank you enough, I've been attempting on and off for over 3 years to start vlogging. I even purchased new camera and premier pro software and still my video quality was horrendous... I followed you setting to the letter only adjusting the bit rate as you recommended to compensate for the 360 camera and finally it's worked, I have now posted my first ever 4k rendered and UA-cam quality video . You sir are a legend.... Kind regards Steve
You are the G.OA.T Matt!!! I was nervous about saving the wedding video I put together. The instructions you gave was like a “Hot knife through Butter!” LOL! Thanks BRO!

for the last 24h I've literally watched so many of your videos! Honestly - every question I had about editing, exporting etc, you answered. Super helpful! Thanks a lot!!

Thanks for the updated version of this export settings 😍 Will you do a updated version of Instagram export settings as well? If there are any. I hate the Instagram compression 😅
The timing on this video! I just finished an edit on my new M1 Max ( A7s 4K 120 fps footage) so I didn’t have my old 4K settings saved, which were on my old PC. Was planning on looking for the older version of this video today!

Thank you Matt! Right wehen I updated my Premiere, went straight to your channel to see if you had an updated export setting and you did! Awesome stuff Matt!
Great video, but you should definitely cover the audio section as well. Audio is often one of the most overlooked areas of filmmaking, and especially for music videos and sound engineers, they want to have good quality audio to work with. Could you please cover the best audio settings for this h.265 codec?
Interested in your comment thanks. Perhaps you know the answer to my question that I wrote above to Matt. This was it: 'Hi Matt. Almost complete beginner to video editing here. Thank you for your help in this. I followed it step by step yesterday, so I think I have the exact same settings. But once my file was exported I received a 'You need a new codec to play this item' in Media Player. I had previously exported from Premiere Pro and the Mp4 file did play no problem in Media Player. I have Windows 11 Pro. Is it something to do with the audio file I added via 'Essential Sound'? I did sign up to the Adobe license for audio.'

Hi Matt. I have two questions: Why to worry about H.265 when UA-cam recommends H.264 and why to use 120 Mpbs in a 60 fps footage when UA-cam max video rate is 68 Mbps for SDR uploads. Thank you.
He hasn’t responded to my questions either. Like my computer doesn’t support hardware encoding so his settings don’t work. That’s why I unfollowed him.

Hoping someone might be able to help, I have exported as per the tutorial - my encoding time started at 36mins but has now jumped to 20 hours! Only 1% complete at ~25 mins in. Have I done something wrong or is this expected? I have never seen this exporting time length before 🙈
