So tense while playing... well now we can all understand that Topper Headon was no ordinary drums player. The backround of a jazz drummer gave him an extra edge of ease and comfort while playing some of the most celebrated punk-rock themes of this world. Comparing, this Is a good effort and a good drum kit.
This dude, plays very well.. awesome bro.. tq for sharing..he seems like a teacher to me..but maybe in his teenage and youth time he was a punkster.. there are a lot of that people at my age (born 80's and above).. I do have a friend who at our teenage and youth time, we were so rebel and listen to any kind of music (punk, Grunge, hardcore, skin, etc).. he used to be a skinhead.. but as we grown out, he actually be a teacher, a mathematic teacher that he used to hate so much at our time..what the fuck.. Me? I have my own business..
@jamesupjimmy You're probably right, but I can tell you I have come a long way... I bought this drumkit in April 2009. I hadn't touched a drum set for twenty years. I couldn't even play the bass drum heel-up. Also, my timing is a tiny bit too fast in this song. I guess I should relax more... Thanks for your response!
Hi this is very well played and very useful for learning the song, but I have to ask how are you doing the tom tom accents in the first part of the song. I can't work out whether you are doing flams, 4 stroke rolls or just leading with the left hand, as you seem to finish with the left hand on the crash cymbal? It's driving me crazy I'd love to know.
he did play it pretty much perfectly beat for beat, probably why his face maintained the look of total concentration throughout. Not my style of drumming as I prefer to enjoy myself and let go, and if I have to improvise a little, lose a couple of beats or add a few, then hey... that's still OK
