I love my drums and love this song but for those that think it's simple, it's not. Very odd time signatures for the snare and cymbals. Many, many songs I have learned by ear but my first few attempts at this was sheet music. And nope, still didn't get it right. Kudo's to him. Nice job and good timing.
Well, I just made it my drum challenge for this week to get this song completely right. Whenever my family is there they always want me to play sth for them and since they think drums are the coolest instrument (kinda true) I'm always playing drums. When I jokingly started playing this knowing I wouldn't get it completely right my family was like that looks easy. And I was trynna explain that it isn't really, but ya... I feel like they'd be more impressed if I'd play an AC/DC song.
I also play the drums and this is a VERY GOOD drum cover of this classic song. The reason why Larry Mullen Jr. and probably this man also are so precise is that Larry Mullen Jr. was trained and played in a school marching band... The Artane Boys Band (now known as the Artane Band).
@@toobalkain Yeah... They do. Because of Larry Mullen Jr's time learning to play and playing in a marching school band. It had a very heavy influence on his drumming and style of play.
@@JamaalSkeete I too began the drums in a pseudo military fashion, but it didn't teach me much other than to roll the snare, some paradiddles, and to march in time. It didn't influence me at all when I started to play in rock bands, other than show me how NOT to hold the sticks. The military drumming influence in this song came from the subject matter of the song as we all know. I do however love the Irish drumming bands when they hit the streets of my city. Brings tear to my eyes.
you got the groove going on friend just a little remark try to sit closer to the drum kit the cymbals seems to be almost out of reach and you have to lean foward to play wich must hurt your back
Say enjoy i did just that, when I got a drums et few years ago played this one through as the original, then changed it up played it from 9 am to 3 pm yes 6 hours plue or minus a few gets one the learn to play
