This entire album is perfection to me. The seamless blending of so many genres with Joe spitting home truths and lyrics about the people. The Clash were truly one of a kind
No doubt a great album. Not only was the Cover iconic there were a bunch of awesome songs. It was so raw and in your face, a basic slap in the face to most of the stuff that preceded it ( pretty much Prog Rock and that stuff). The Clash was like lightning in a bottle. "The Guns of Brixton" is one of my favorites along with "Spanish Bombs".
For myself and my sibs, Saturday mom worked and dad was running the day. Half-hour of loud rock and roll while cleaning, then a half hour break to watch wrestling, repeat as necessary.

As someone who rarely ever listens to the lyrics the first time (or even the first few; I tend to seek out the bass first), The Clash is a band whose songs get infinitely better once I find out what they're saying. Man they have powerful lyrics.

I saw them in my backyard venue a.k.a Red Rocks in the summer of '82 during their Combat Rock tour. The best venue on the this planet.
