It would be lovely to mount an underwater camera on a remote controlled boat that you can use to monitor the fishes and the pond anywhere you want.
I'm not a fisherman, even though I live on a lake, but I really enjoy your content of nature and what you've done.
It’s so strange that there are people that will live on a lake a not fish at all, and there are also people who will trespass through your lawn at night just so they can fish said lake. 2 completely different walks of life
@Unwashedclam I have had people park in my driveway and think it's OK to walk by my house on my property to fish from my boat dock. Nope. That doesn't fly in Texas. Actually had one drive down to the lake. That really doesn't fly.

What ended up happening to all the Trout that got stocked on both ponds?
You can grow Azolla on raised floating bed on the lake. It is an excellent Feed for fish and will save you lot of money. Even it takes excess ammonia( Fish Excrection) from water and will make water clean.
In my area the eagle/osprey nests are built with a 6 “ high railing around the platform. It helps keep the sticks from blowing off the platform in high winds. Once the birds have the first couple layers of sticks they start poking them into the cracks between boards.
I always look forward to seeing pond upload videos.

I really enjoy your videos. With all your fish stockings, I think you will eventually have a freshwater mussel population in your pond. Mussels come in attached to fish gills as larvae because they are parasitic on fish at that point in their life cycle. Once they transform on the fish, they drop off and fall to the bottom. It might make a great video to snorkel with a GoPro and look for any mussels living on the bottom. The adults partially bury themselves, but you can usually see part of the shell and the siphons working as they filter feed. But oh, I just saw the snail crawl across the camera lens. If they are thriving, mussels will too.
Those tropical lillies are gorgeous! They totally make the waterfall area pop.

Have you tried putting compost tea in the pond? I don’t know if it will be good in your pond but I know it can help with some plant related issues.
You should name the second bass Dolores, Dolores and Truman sounds like a dynamic duo
Can you get a few fake Christmas trees and make a little forest in your pond and put cement blocks on the bottom to hold them up and you can name it like Mary forest or something

Golden shiners would be a great forage for the bass and will help the bass grow faster I’d recommend stocking about 5000 n putting in 100 into the cedar falls

Just back from a trip to Germany (for Euro2024) with the rest of the Tartan Army, this was the first YT video I watched! My vote for Truman's companion would have to be Marlon.

That Tomato worm reminded me of my daughter. At about two and a half or 3 years old she followed my mom around the farm like a puppy. Her favorite chore was finding tomato worms. She had no fear. She would grab the worm, it would stick out both ends of her fist, and march back to drop the worm in Grandma's bucket, then charge back to look for more. My mom was totally amazed the first time that happened. When they left the garden mom would ask her who gets the worms today, the chickens or the fish. My baby would then feed the critter of her choice. One at a time she would reach in, get a worm and toss it out to be eaten. She's 50 years old now and claims to not remember doing that, but it is still a fond memory to me.

If you want to do bald cypress on the edges and get knees order bare roots in the winter from your states forestry store and start them in containers. Grow them containerized for a season and then next season put the containers in the shallow areas about half submerged. Roots will grow out the bottom of the containers drain holes. In a few years cut the black plastic containers away with a razor. Bald cypress seem to do best this way for me. I have tried putting the bare roots directly in the shallows first season with no luck. If your state does not have them order form NC Forest store. You can get 100 bare root in a box. Be careful the bare roots do not get frosted. They mail in the winter.
