Come along and enjoy the scenery in Central PA while I take the Moto Guzzi V85TT for a road test. First time on a Guzzi and I really enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Great real-world perspective. I am considering one of these bikes and appreciate your observations. The on-the-road support network has been causing me to pause but from everything I’ve been reading and watching, reliability doesn’t seem to be an issue. Thanks.
I test rode one a month ago and eventually decided to part x my Honda CRF 1000 DCT. It arrives this Thursday. And its a Mc Donald colour, loved that colour when I first saw it at a Bike show back in 2017.
Congrats!! When they first came out at the show I loved that color scheme as well. Honestly if I was buying one I’d have to have both colors side by side and really look at them to decide. So please don’t take my McD descriptor as a put down. I’d be totally happy with either.
Added Guzzi side luggage and do all my grocery shopping in Mystic, Ct. Ive had three BMW's a bevy of Hondas, but this is the most fun. Add a holder for your iPhone for gps. Starting out cold, gear shifting needs a moment to warm up.
I really did enjoy the Guzzi. I can imagine the luggage makes it a very versatile bike. Can’t wait to give the new Mandello a spin! Thanks for watching!
Your impressions are spot on (except for your color preference 😂). The V85TT was the first Moto Guzzi I had ridden/owned and it’s been a fantastic bike. Now over 42,000 miles in 3 years and no complaints. Here’s a short video from some of the rides in those first 3 years. ua-cam.com/video/Nwz0jv9ZLmM/v-deo.html
Loved the ride, looking to move from HD Ultra to something lighter like this or NT 1100 when it comes to Canada. Africa Twin fit great, Triumph not as comfortable.
Being 6'3" the ergos were good for me. Very comfortable to ride. If you want an easy riding bike, this needs to be on your list to check out. Thanks for watching!
Im sure there are some curvy roads there but the dealer is close to 70 miles away from my house so I really dont know the territory so I try to stay on the main roads. I could tell by my short ride that it would be fun in the twistys. Thanks for watching!
Seriously looking at ‘upgrading’ my already lovely V7 850…..but am aware that the throttle is by wire, not cable. Was concerned about the ‘surge’ you mentioned. Had this on my Kawasaki Z900RS, was so bad I had to get rid. Is the clutch/throttle really that awkward to use? Shame if so as it would put me off buying one.
I only noticed a small surge in the higher rpm's in 3rd and 4th gears. Its nothing I couldnt live with. I had a V-Rod that had a bad fueling miss that just made me angry when I rode it that I had to get rid of it. This was nothing like that. Cant remember any issues from the clutch. I would say go take one for a ride. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the bike. This ride has put Guzzi in my brain that I have to own one some day. Thanks for watching!
I demo'd one too and thought it was pretty nifty. The ergos were just spot on for me. Not crazy about the big silver square bags though. I'd go with the touring model as the bags don't stick out as far and it's got a better windscreen. The paint on that thing is lustrous. They goofed up the lines for the last two years though. Compare it to a 2020. The lines on the 20 are parallel and the rear follows the front line of the seat. For some reason, they did a mirror image of the paint these last two years and the seat no longer flows into the change in paint. I do like the lines of the tank from the seat though. ua-cam.com/video/ZVbdfZRZQUM/v-deo.html
Yep, I was pleasantly surprised. Just a nice, easy riding bike. I will check out the paint lines. I agree about the panniers. They just dont look right to me on this bike. Maybe a set of black would look better? Nice to hear from you! Glad you're still out there and thank for watching!
Don't get me wrong, there is a part of me that likes the yellow/red colorway. I like the red one best. Haven't seen the limited edition, but I like black and white so i'm sure its sharp. Thanks for watching!
Totally agree. The dealer is about 80 miles from my home so I kinda stick to the familiar route. Maybe someday I’ll get it on some twisties. Thanks for watching!
@@jdman7170 you're wellcome, thanks! GoodVideo by the way! Disatvantage are your streets, a bit boring, aren't they? Check out a friend of mine, Moped Bua on Tour, he lives near me in Austria and we both have been in Albania, croatia and montenegro this year........with our Guzzis 😉..........and please excuse my Bad English, greetings from austria
Added a windshield extender to mine. Much improved in 70 mph traffic.
Well I just bought The Guzzi V 85 TT with the adventure luggage, and could not be happier! It's nice to see a good review.
Congrats! I totally enjoyed my time on it. Have fun with all those new adventures!
The red and white is a stunner. My first choice.
Have had a V85 TT Centenario for about two months. Love it.
Awesome!

Thank you for that! Cant wait to ride the Mandello and the new Stelvio.

Come on Scottie.....take the plunge and buy it! Lol. Love the color

@@jdman7170 The fact that you mention that you are 6'3'' just sold this bike to me! Only thing that worried me at 6'2'' !
@@jamesfairmind2247 yep. Fit me perfectly!
It's a shame that dealership only has straight roads around it, although the V85TT seems like a decent option for that too with cruise control.

Yep. I like the look and was pleasantly surprised with how it rode and handled. Thanks for watching!

The lines annoyed my too. I want the improvements of the 2022 but the paint job of the red 2020
DesertX or V85 TT? I take Guzzi any day! Both are great bikes though.
Btw mine is just that red/white one. 😍
I am still amazed how light that bike felt. Guzzi is definitely on the want list. Red and white is my favorite! Thanks for watching!
Hey Scott, do you felt a heat from the engine?
Didn’t really notice anything out of the ordinary. Nothing like my Ducatis or the RSV4.
@@jdman7170 Okay! My Tiger 850 Sport heats up my legs a lot, so I don't want to have a similar issue. Thanks!
@@R1vid be sure to take one for a good ride. I am probably used to the heat due to my other bikes.
McDonald's paint scheme haha good one! Seriously considering a '22 Guardia d'Onore limited edition. They are black/white and look really sharp.

Guzzis are great in the bends - shame you couldnt try it on any .
I could tell it would be nimble. Felt way lighter than it should.
Man, you're surrounded by great back roads! Please use them or you will never really understand how great Guzzi's truly are.

In the twisties you'll have a blast!
Hi, i have this bike now nearly a year and drove about 10.000 km. you need to go a Mountain Road.........then you will be realy happy!
I am finding out Guzzi owners really love their bike. I can see why! Thanks for watching!

I'm looking at this bike.
Take one for a ride. I think you'll like it.
