    Thanks for all the comments folks. I am still alive and the motorcycle is now in NZ. I got a bit put off doing more videos when someone commented how monotone I sounded, I guess we can't all have a voice like Don LaFontaine, but will do a video on exporting a bike for anyone's interest and another video on breakages/fixes/issues which I thankfully have had very few.

      I don’t blame you for not making more videos. You do this in a gratuitous manner so if anyone wants to complain that is their problem.
      I am curious, did you have any issues adapting to the US road system and riding on the opposite of where you ride in New Zealand? HOpefully our yellow paint stripe between oncoming traffic helped a little. I’d love to visit New Zealand and Australia but worry about adapting to riding on the opposite side of the roadway, especially with the lack of a the yellow paint stripe which is painted white in NZ and Oz (I get that most countries in the world use white but I am accustomed to seeing yellow).

    Not some company that outsources their bikes to some place in China for manufacturing. Made in Italy, proudly! Moto Guzzi should be proud of their bikes, some of the best motorbikes ever put out on the roads.

    Thanks for all the comments. Glad most people getting something from the Video. I don't have a GoPro so it wasn't possible to show any motion shots but it is a thrill to ride so recommend getting a test ride in.

    The rear shock preload adjustment is not to stiffen or make soft the rear suspension, it is to adjust ride height for load. The more luggage and gear you take the more rear preload you add. It is to bring the attitude of your bike back to a regular stance for reasonable handling. If you leave your rear preload on your "soft" setting and load the bike up it will increase the front trail and slow the steering down on your bike (which you may find quite annoying over time). Fantastic bike though and I like that colour choice.

    I like this colour scheme, it's great. Much better than the orange scheme. I didn't realise the tank had plastic covers. I've watched many reviews & you're the first to point this out, thanks!

    I've watched a half dozen or so reviews on the V86tt and gotta say your is by far the best. Finally someone talking about the bike and it's controls rather than comparing it to other brands. This looks like the one I'll use for my trip to Perdue Bay in Alaska.

    I don’t think many people read a manual cover to cover prior to riding a bike…so figuring things out intuitively and reviewing it is valuable… and you actually have very good intonation, easy to listen to compared to many hyped up UA-camrs!

    Nice review of the bike's features. I've noticed that the fuel light comes on with about 90 miles remaining range (and 2 bars like you said). You may want to check the lumbar support hump fasteners under the seat. Mine vibrated off after only 600 miles. I do have the taller windscreen on order am was happy to hear you say that was an improvement over the stock screen. Safe ride on the rest of your trip.

  • @FaisalM91
    @FaisalM91 4 роки тому +23

    The "time" in the dashboard you mentioned is the time the bike spent on during that trip once you reset it.
    So if you reset the trip A, the time will be reset to 0:00. It is not the actual time as in time zone etc..
    You need to install the fog lights for the switch to work. It only activates the front fog lights, nothing on the rear.

    I like the classic low-slung Guzzi fuel tank and the vents in the battery cover. The Red/white color scheme is the best.
    I rode an 07 Breva for about 6 years and just recently sold it. Prior to that it was a BMW R1100S. I have to say that MG captured my heart and I would buy another if I ever get another bike.
    They have great character and built like a tank. Never really had to work on my Breva, but was looking forward to it because they are just build so rugged and simple.

    yes, you can set the "shift lights" up to 6500 or 7000 without any problems...
    the reason it's set at 5500, is to break Inthe motor, at the beginning, so you don't overheat it...
    once broken in, your mechanics should of done that automatically...

    Hi Thanks for your review. I have had the same bike for 1 month and so far I love it. The uppermost light setting is to switch on additional (and optional) front fog lights which I have had fitted on mine. Also have had the MG heated grips fitted as they are available now but you can fit aftermarkets ones pretty easily. Ride safe and enjoy !

    • @mardizano

  • @BuffaloweRider
    @BuffaloweRider 6 місяців тому +1

    I'm not sure if anyone pointed out that what you pointed to as wear indicators are acxby design and called lug locks. The wear indicators are much lower in the tread. They're there to help them corner on the street so under stress instead of a line of lugs rolling out from under the tire it's connected to to the next line of lugs to help prevent this. They're raised so the lug locks aren't really necessary after the knobby is worn down to locks. Doesn't mean that tire is done just means that it's going to be less effective in the off road capability than when new. Since it's a 80/20 tire I believe shouldn't matter for much other than mud since anyone that is riding hard core off road would have changed them straight away and sold them on Ebay.
    None the less, cheers and ignore the haters.

    Great review. I have the Atacama grey one which was a bit of a second choice since the other colour schemes were sold out but happy now with my choice since certainly the tricolour orange already looks dated. Good to hear tall OEM screen works since I am 6'2 and have seen mixed reviews. Am still breaking in with only 150 miles to go, but my rev warning lights were factory set at 4200 so have kept to that... annoying when they come on at just over 70 in 6th! Can't wait to get past that first service. Have added the additional low level front mud guard which is interchangeable with the Caponord. Keeps the front of engine clean but probs not so good if off roading.

    Very nice review. Second time watching it. They have a used one here locally. 4k miles. Identical to yours except being a year newer it has the heated grips. Quickest way to tell is there will be a small to medium sized black wire running to the bottom of the grip towards the flared end on the triple tree side of the bars. I want that bike so bad but my favorite saying lately. So many toys, so little money.

    Nice review and I Loveeeeeeeeeee Moto Guzzi's, I own one and I would never ever change/replace it for anything else but another Moto Guzzi. As far as when the empty (low fuel) signal comes up at the second bar from the bottom on the fuel indicator and the corresponding mileage says 81 miles, is because this motorbike runs between 40 - 48 miles per gallon and gives you about 2 gallons or 81 miles before it's too late to find a petrol station lol!

    Don't be put off by the comments of others. There will always be differing opinions on anything someone publishes. If they don't like what is being said, they can go to a different video. I found it to be good and informative. I have plans to buy this model this winter.

      @@Eidrian111 Hi Captain Fartmaster. Do you have a V85TT as well?, Do you ever think it needs more BHP or torque?. I really like the bike, but all the competition have more horsepower and torque (KTM 790 Adventure, Triumph Tiger 800/900, Yamaha Tracer 900, ...). I am having a really hard time deciding one over the other.

    Hi my name is Thomas I just purchased a new V 85TT 2021 and I took it out for a good spirited ride did a little bit of loose dirt little bit of loose sanded areas on pavement and stripped pavement I’m impressed but when I cracked the throttle in sport or any other mode it seems to gag and help hold back the bike when I put it in Offroad I think I’m not positive but I think you can crack the throttle and expect a bike to really light up is this the experience you’re having it seems as if the old Termanology we used to say crapping out you hit the throttle and it would crap out fire misfire slow down scape whatever you wanna say please let me know what your thoughts are since you’veGot some miles on yours thank you very much appreciate your video

      No sport mode on mine, just road, rain and off-road. Mostly it's been on road mode as I don't enjoy riding in shitty weather unless I have to get somewhere and even then I'm pretty much upright and limit cornering.

    Ha, I had a chuckle over a comment regarding monotone voice. Don't sweat it mate. In the US, there are so many voice accents, I don't think they are all speaking the same language. They just seem to keep on and never miss a beat. When speaking to a Brit, or someone who learned their English from a Brit, I think Americans don't miss an opportunity to make fun of them. Trust me, they are not giving you a hard time, they are just having a bit of a go at humor.

    Good review sir. May I opine that you may be premature in replacing the tires. The tread depth shows a goodly amount of tire left. If you are averaging 70 - 80 mph. I'd say go ahead. At less speed then wait. The wear bars are read from the top. Not the side. Look for wear in the middle 3 inches of the tire. 3/32 in. depth is the limit generally. Cheers

      I don't agree. I could ride for 2-3hrs without needing to stand up on the pegs to get bloodflow moving. It would very much depend on the physiology of the rider. Easy to add some additional comfort but that won't stop the restricted bloodflow after a couple of hours as I experienced the same thing with the sheepskin in situ.
