I've become fascinated by the blues since I started playing guitar, both technique, theory and history (I'm a heavy metal guy). I've learned a lot of shuffle approaches, but using the open D string on the G shuffle, never seen anyone doing that before. Yet it's so simple. I also finally figured out a lot of turnarounds start root to flat 7, then do the walk down. For whatever reason, that tidbit of knowledge has really helped me grab different walk downs on the fly. By the way "Beyond the Crossroads" by Adam Gussow is a fascinating look at the blues and how it both shaped and was shaped by the American South during the "Jim Crow" era.

Sorry Erich, I should have mentioned that Dr John's Jazzy/Blues version that I need from his Album, is from the original song by jazz singer Peggy Lee, but of course a totally different rendition/arrangement. Thanks again. Rollo.
