I also thought he was Dan Povenmire. Also, he isn't just Doof's voice actor he also MADE THE SHOW together with Jeff "Swampy" Mars (who voices Najor Monogram)

I loved starship troopers, I watched the ending walking by the TV as a kid once, and then saw it start up, and I watched it all. It was an amazing movie
No William, missing it is not an insane take. I got my first job recently (well first one where I was officially employed lol), I wasted like 6 years of my life to studying because I flunked out of school. The amount of stress lifted off of me, I just need to go there on work hours, do my shift, then relax. It's a pattern I've got used to and it's so nice. No over worrying about finances, no sitting there lonely through the day trying to finish some freelance stuff I'm getting underpaid for. Just me and the work, occasionally complaining to my colleagues about the day going slow because there's not much work that day. It sounds crazy I know. But I get it. :) BTW, to make an already message longer. Complaining about no work ends up on people flunking other tasks off to you. But oh man, the things I've learned already is insane from it.
i worked with mark setrakian briefly on his new project 'body sculpture'. really chill guy, had a lot of really good advice on mixing mediums to create sick robots.
FYI: After Allan's slander of Jane Goodall, a few weeks ago, there is a relationship between the Getty Family, which owns the Getty Museum, and Getty Images. The name Getty is common enough, so that can not be assumed. But in this case, it is. This Getty family got its money in oil, many decades ago. One of the Getty "trust fund babies", much later, started Getty Images, and the Getty family owns about 1/3 of the company (Getty Images). I have another Getty story, that happened about 10 years ago. Another of those Getty trust fund brats owned a beach front house in Malibu. He was getting the house renovated, but due to the geography of that section of Malibu, workers had to enter adjacent properties. Initially, the neighbors were fine with it, as they knew the situation, and hoped, their other neighbors do the same, when they decided to redecorate. But this Getty was such a jerk, he abused their hospitality, and they eventually revoked access. Getty eventually sold that house. Its new owner was much more diplomatic, that he had no problem, completely rebuilding a new house on that lot. If you want a more precise location in Malibu, that house is only a couple of properties away from the house of an elderly couple, that were rescued by their grandson, by boat, during the most recent fire, there. That story hit the news. The elderly couple are parents of a good friend of mine. The grandson, is his nephew.
Remember those old infomercials on TV? Older, lonely people would form parasocial relationships with the hosts. They could be sold anything, and they wanted to talk on the phone about their purchase or to the sales person and they constantly bought things. I had family members that did this. They didn't buy the fancy doll, they bought the interaction. Tiktok is this with a different kind of entertainment. I imagine it's huge business. I've almost bought a chair 3 times. There are very few 'Third Spaces' anymore for young people and loneliness just breeds more.
In the context of the clock, and even of sfx too. Human innovation, from farming, to mining, to social structure, has always been in this context of play. (Not some silly innovation for profit) Humans who see other people's dreams (literally, chasing your dream in the same sense as the Wyandotte and other indigenous people) and work together to make them real.
I felt so smart today when I wore my steel toe boots and then dropped a 200lbs slab of walnut on my foot. I was thinking about not wearing them but made myself do it and now I feel smart.
That whole argument that we can't have nice things because people are lazy or will take advantage of goodwill... To that I ask "so Adobe is the answer?!"
I’m not a content creator, but longing for a normal job is understandable. I long for structure, but hate commitments. It is the ADHD way, to want to think less about your responsibilities and tasks.
1:43:38 This would basically be something like the Linux Foundation, no? iirc there's a number of nonprofits that do that sort thing for FOSS, especially for Linux distros and whatnot
I have to head out in a minute, so Im only 10 minutes In. there was a joke amongst the software engineers, it seemed fairly established fact they coded better after a beer or 2, anything more than 4 went downhill rapidly. I think pool and pinball are in the same category. But when Microsoft was developing windows ME, they just gave everyone a case of whiskey, and told them to get on with it. which explains alot about ME.
It's amazing the difference in audiences. Hasan Piker and asmond made a comment how they missed his retail job in someways and the comments/chat got nasty on them about it. Here not one comment but this one that I can see.
Will has a stem degree and he left a good job to pursue youtube. what the fuck would asmon and hasan be doing if they couldn't stream? that's not a audience thing, they do not have the same right as WIll to say that.
The point isn't that he's giving money to the people who are building the clock, the point is that he could give that money to the people who need it instead of spending it on some stupidly extravagant project. He could give houses to people, give food to those who have none, but instead he inefficiently displays his opulence in a show of wealth. Trickle down economics doesn't work
Dude that discussion at 01:26:20 about failsafes in dangerous remote controlled machine made me laugh (even harder) about all the people criticising you for buying "that battlebot"
You guys have 2 kinds of shows ... one that is unhinged as F and i laugh the whole time and this type ... incredibly good and interesting conversation that makes me feel smarter just for listening to it ... great show guys
As a computer engineering major who just completed a senior project where 3 of us made a robot drive itself around a room and identify objects, I can confirm software is certainly something. We spent the majority of our time just making other people's libraries and tools work. I feel William's software gripes in my soul.
Oh Kevin.... There are "studios" like that.. haven't you seen the video's of huge buildings with decorated cubicles that has hundreds if not thousands of streamers in there promoting products? Mainly in what looked like asia, and yes it is very black mirror-esque
Did Allen skip this one just so he could feel how Nigel feels when people ask where he is?
who's Allen?
Never heard of em
🤷
They went full white this week.
@@Tetsuito maybe the race war has begun!
What an oddly high quality episode. I love the unhinged stuff but listening to Luke was fascinating.
Geez I almost thought they got Adam Savage to duke it out with Allen
God I need to see that podcast now
Allen is actually not on this podcast because he’s recovering from the beat down Adam brought.
That's why he ain't there, he got destroyed and they won't post that
Actually thought they got the Doofenshmirtz voice actor on the podcast
I also thought he was Dan Povenmire. Also, he isn't just Doof's voice actor he also MADE THE SHOW together with Jeff "Swampy" Mars (who voices Najor Monogram)

Best episode yet! Personal connection and rapport, clear mutual respect, lots of interesting stuff to talk about, this was incredible.
This dude's cool as hell.
More guests like this, less UA-camrs talking about thumbnails please.
I’m gonna need double thumbnail chat next week to make up for this.
8:20 that has been studied! You can push people very hard for a few days, but then they crash for a long time.
We called adhd pills “senzu beans” in engineering undergrad school
Is it just me that loves the intro lmao the face morph is cool

For a second I thought that was Dan Povenmire
