Angels and airwaves for many years was always about hope, optimism, forgiveness, adventure and their songs and lyrics carried deep meaning. It got me through a lot of shit. This new stuff gives no fucks, mixes their old sound with the style of boxcar racer and really packs a punch.
This is a heavy song for AVA and man did they just hit on something big. I’m more of a WDNTW and I Empire AVA fan but this edgy new sound is going to go somewhere big. Can’t wait for the full record to see where they go with this. This band is back and gotta say better than ever.
I love that Ilan Rubin has become one of the most recognizable musicians out there. I knew instantly who this was after seeing NIN live a few years ago. I had no idea he had joined A&A but the moment I saw him on the screen I was like 'I know who that is!'
Was on a Blink 182 bengie and remembered A&A but only the old stuff. Realized they were doing new stuff and thought "oh boy. another band trying to be relivent again. this will suck." And now I'm like 5 videos in and jamming. The music is so....poetic. little bit of punk. Little bit of EDM. This is just great all around. One of those albums you could hit play on track 1 and let it roll all the way through.

Well he did start the band not Mark, he named the band, he wrote more songs than Mark, he was the guitarist which is the most recognizable signature sound, and he has one of the most unique voices that became a blink trademark. Funniest story of new blink is my friend who isn’t a huge blink fan but a fan none the less listen to their California album many times while on a road trip with her bfs family and was in total shock when she found out it was blink because it didn’t sound like blink haha. She was like “I thought it was some new pop punk band I never heard of with generic songs, what happened to that whinny voice of the singer? Also didn’t they get more dark in their last albums” She liked it, nothing special but it was just an okay generic pop punk album. Sadly that’s what blink is now, generic imitation pop punk paired with a huge brand to help sell. Though it’s not really blink. I love Mark though (hope he beats cancers ass) but man it’s sad what he’s done to blink. Can’t let go of his past. Should of just grown along side Tom or just let blink end. Instead blinks legacy is tarnished.
