    Original plans from Pinterest: www.onhouseandhome.com/200-diy...
    On the headboard we used one 8 foot 2x6 and cut it in half for the vertical edges, and three 8 foot 1x10 and cut to 44 1/2 inches (had left overs). For the rails we got 8 foot 1x3 boards and cut them down. Put some trim on the top for extra and used threaded inserts (with 3/8 inch bolts) to make it adjustable. Comment if you have any more questions!

    You guys!!! I am OnHouseandHome and it is SOOO cool to see this video and how yall adapted the plans. I love the threaded inserts and the slated mattress support (would have done that but we had plywood so went that route). I love the changes to the backboard too and yes, the 2x10s were SUPER heavy. Would yall mind building everything else I've ever built and show me how to do it better? I would appreciate it..... Thanks for the linking to my plans yall!

      Sara Haddox oh my gosh! How cool to hear from you!!! We love DIY projects and have had a blast building baby things (not sure if you’ve seen our other build videos too). Your plans were awesome -thank you for sharing them!!!

    I’ve looked all over UA-cam for a doable crib build and I like this one the most by far (we’re expecting our first baby soon so I was immediately tasked with doing this). What are the dimensions/cut lengths of the platform that y’all made? Y’all’s turned out awesome by the way!

      Rena Reed glad you like it! We got the material at Lowe’s -it’s mostly all pine. Here are our measurements: On the headboard we used one 8 foot board, 2x6 and cut it in half for the vertical edges, and three 8 foot boards, 1x10 and cut to 44 1/2 inches (with left overs). For the rails we got 8 foot boards 1x3 boards and cut them down. We some trim on the top for extra with the same boards as the rails. We used threaded inserts (with 3/8 inch bolts) to make it adjustable. Let me know if I missed anything!

    How did you make the platform, I’m currently wondering on how to make a platform in my daughters crib she is disabled, so needs her crib as long as possible however her brother kept jumping on her bed and ended up bending the frame the mattress sits on so now trying to figure out a way for a platform of some sort

      Vic Sandoval I made some modifications so it is different than the Pinterest page -that is just what we took our base measurements from and where we got the idea. On that Pinterest page they used a different which had them using different and more wood. Thanks glad you like it!

    • @therobertssegment4557
      @therobertssegment4557  5 років тому +2

      Victoria Dugan this took about three days because we did a little at a time. You could easily do this all in one day. The most time consuming part is waiting for the stain and Polyacrylic to dry.

    How many 1x3-8 boards did you end up using? And what length are they cut at

    • @therobertssegment4557
      @therobertssegment4557  5 років тому +2

      Porsche Wilson We cut them at 28 1/2 inches long, and there are a total of 24, so that would be 8. We also did trim on top of the rails, so we bought a total of 10 boards.

    Really nice job! Too bad i live in Europe where we use cm's instead of inches. The same for the 1x10 stuff and foot. Now i can not make this bed myself :(
    Cuts:
    2x10s | 3 @ 28.5″
    2x2s | 2 @ 27.75″ | 1 @ 34″
    2x10 = cm's or inches?
    Thank you in advantage !

      @therobertssegment4557  5 років тому +1

      2”x10” is correct. So sorry! I’m sure there is a way to convert everything to cm!

      @rawlsawh2804 4 роки тому +1

      Take any inch and multipy by 2.54
      So 1" is 2.54cm
      2" is 5.08cm
      And so on

      @@therobertssegment4557 could you show a picture of the threaded insert and bolt used to attach the base. I can't work out if you fastened it to the rails or the corner 2x2.

    • @therobertssegment4557
      @therobertssegment4557  4 роки тому

      Scott Jones we attached them to the legs in the corners. In the front of the crib it was a little more difficult, so I added a 2x2 next to one of the rail on the sides to make sure I had enough room.

    • @scottjones7515
      @scottjones7515 4 роки тому

      @@therobertssegment4557 you know I looked at that part of the video and thought your side rails looked wider. . But then In the procedure theres only 1 2x2 on the edge and the 1x3 butts up to it.. so that's how I built it... now I'm struggling to attach the base.. maybe I'll add a strip of plywood to the edge rail and screw into that...
