  • I ordered this before Christmas and have already used it several times. If you're looking for a comprehensive kit that has all the adaptors, this is the one. I've bought a few things from 8MILELAKE before and have been happy with all of them. Most of these kits are all made in the same place anyway. It works excellent at both pressure testing and vacuum refilling. Perfect for vehicles that are difficult to get all the air out of the cooling system. A must have if you work on cooling systems.

YT has been screwing with the notifications I get too. Every day I remember a channel that I haven't seen in awhile because YT stopped sending me notifications and putting their videos in my feed.
I still watch most of your vids, I just don't comment very often because I'm usually watching on my phone and its a pain to type on. I gotta get a new phone.

Good day, thanks for the video Bruce - that’s a sophisticated kit - the pressure test apparatus works well - nightmare scenario if pressure drops and you find oil in the coolant lol - cheers

I've had two head gaskets go on me. One in my 1987 Plymouth Reliant K and the other was in my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire. Both were work cars that were used and abused but took it like a champ till the head gaskets went. I also once has the trans cooler that was built into the rad take a dump and mix antifreeze and trans fluid. I was actually able to change the rad and trans fluid and drove it for a few more years! Have a good one Ed

I got the JoyFans one, it comes with the 4 of the radiator silver caps, which fits Honda radiators. I added teflon tape to the threads of the connectors except the ones that were locktited

Yours is a little fancier than mine but they’re a godsend! I couldn’t live without mine, especially having to deal with the BMW cooling system 🫣😂😂😂

I have another one that doesn't have the bits I needed. It was cheaper to buy this kit than to be a bunch of adapters that I needed. The Jetta has weird plastic fittings and manifolds all over the place. That's why I bought it. I started to make a video of me diagnosing and fixing the cooling system but it got waaaaay more involved than I had patience to record lol. It all came down to a $15 plastic coolant manifold and two O-rings. I had to take apart half the engine to get to them and wanted to be sure there were no more leaks before I put it all back together. Other than a bunch of Porsches, I don't think I'll be buying anymore German cars. I do like Audi's though.
You're right though, they are a godsend. I've used it several times already

Hey Steve. I have a PA 6 piece kit. It works fine but didn't have the pieces needed for my VW or the wife's Honda. You're right though, it seems every car is different. I remember when pretty much all rad caps were the same

Hey BDOG. That's probably a good idea (highlighting the arrows). I have some other tool kit in a blow molded case that I always open upside down. I plan on cleaning and organizing the garage this spring and will take your advice and mark the up on the ones that aren't clear.
Have a great day, night or whatever time of day it is!

I been looking at this kit but still looking at the astro pneumatic kit

    • @BruceLyeg
      @BruceLyeg  10 місяців тому +1

What's the differences? I've liked everything of Astros I've ever bought. The 8MILELAKE specialty tools like this that I have don't get used very often so I can't really say how great they are in terms of long term quality. This set has been used lots and has been great though. I haven't found anything it won't fit.
Do you have any experience with the non dismantle fuel injector/system cleaning kits? Wondering if they're even worth it

Nice kit Bruce!! I have been looking lately & have a few saved in amazon. I like the look of this kit!! 👍🇨🇦 BTW bought 2 cans of BG 44 Platinum, a very potent injector cleaner. 11 oz's for $ 45.00 a can. 😳

I had been looking for awhile too and had a bunch on my list. I really like this one. I can't say how it will be long term but it seems pretty well made. I've never heard of BG44 Platinum till now. Just read a bit about it and people seem to really like it. Very expensive though! You figure it's worth it?

I have a few 8 mile lake tools. I have the slide hammer kit. My only complaint was it was too big yo fit in my tool box. I think i psid 75 bucks ive had to use it 3 or 4 times but its worked great. Like you said using every day might want better but for a weekend warrior like me its perfect I'd buy more

That will be great for cars where the radiator filler is not the highest point. My wife's 93 Civic EX, my mom's 79 FIAT Spider 2000, and my future Shelby Cobra 427

I think the Shelby Cobra has been one of the few cars that I've consistently loved since I was a kid. I've been lucky enough to see a couple real ones in my life but heck, I'd settle for a Factory Five Kit. A guy that follows me on Instagram has built a few for other people, he does beautiful work

I got pretty much the same tool off amazon just a different name. same case and fittings. Just used it for the first time after replacing my water pump on a 5.7 '14 grand cherokee. At first I set it at 17 ( rated for 18) and it was slowly losing pressure. I pumped it up again and it lost a few psi even slower. Pumped it up to 18 about 10 minutes ago and it's holding steady. What's up with that? Maybe the tool itself where it connects to the radiator needed a better seal? I couldn't hear air or anything. Haven't seen any leaks yet.

Spray around the connections with soapy water
