    Great video guys. Super helpful for a seasoned rider with a slight case of skinnyphobia. Also I really enjoy the comedic dynamic between you and Bryan”the beginner”. It’s super fun and you should include more of those shenanigans. Thanks, I love the channel, I may be a little biased because I’m from Massachusetts.

    Not going to lie, I feel very comfortable on skinnies for some reason. It’s the drops and jumps I have a harder time with. I’ve been ridding for awhile but have never done anything at the level Jimmy is teaching me. Practice is key, as Jimmy says!

    Would you think 27.5 wheels are more effective on those sharp “skinny feature” turns?

    • @MTBTravelReview
      @MTBTravelReview  2 роки тому +1

      27.5 wheels tend to make a shorter wheelbase, so generally speaking, yes. I’ll never go back though. 29 is epic.

    I've been struggling with this for years. But only the ones that are less than trice tire width. Like the one at end of video. I though most of the planks in the video not skinny. I'd like a more advanced technical guide for people that are over the fear and can bail. People that only struggle at the turns that bikes don’t go around. Thats me.
    Sorry but this video was not helpful for me. Due to lack of technical instruction and very low difficulty level of demonstrated skills.

      The title says “beginner MTB sessions”, so makes sense.

    • @MongrelShark
      @MongrelShark 3 роки тому

      @@MTBTravelReview true. But is there an advanced guide? I really struggle to know whats going on with back wheel. Its like there is a formula I don't know. Which predicts how much back wheel cuts the corner....

    • @MTBTravelReview
      @MTBTravelReview  3 роки тому

      @@MongrelShark I haven’t made any advanced videos yet. The only advanced skill needed for sharper corners on a skinny is to learn to lift and pivot your back wheel, which is briefly touched on in the video and I actually do in the video on one of the longer and trickier skinnies. Bikes keep getting longer and slacker and the you can only do so much without lifting and pivoting the back wheel using body weight and technique.

    • @MongrelShark
      @MongrelShark 3 роки тому +1

      @@MTBTravelReview thanks. I was just going outside to practice front and back pivots on my bmx :)
      The part I have trouble with is knowing this point where you have to pivot. Especially on small round logs. Where the round top adds traction issues.
      Just found a few trials videos related to the skills.
      Can't find a single mtb video on advanced skinnies. After a couple hours looking and watching many similar beginner guides. Perhaps you could do one sometime?
