I... Love.. that.... game!!! It was like better than RE1, but not quite as good as RE2... wish thay it waa actually released in the US.. I played it as a teenager and had to use a printout online for help in translating a lot of the text.... I BELIEVE there's a PAL version, but it's probably ungodly expensive

Was aware of carrier for a while, but after seeing what it looks like, I’m definitely wanting to check it out. The dreamcast had some interesting survival horror games on there, especially D2, Blue Stinger and illbleed. Carrier seems like it could fit into that mold well.

Oh my god, you reviewed this game, I was hoping you might be another soul that played this survival horror gem. This game alone is worth the reason I still have my Dreamcast, well one of several since there's never been a good, proper DC Collection or Virtual Console service of their titles. Too many good, campy Survival Horror gems on that console even if some are just ports. I do agree and admit this game screams RE-Clone from the get-go, but sometimes being a clone isn't a bad thing especially if you carry the spirit of what you're copying in the right places. Sure it gets things wrong too and the cheesy dialogue can ruin the actually decent plot, but I still enjoy it. Kinda wish this game was more popular, maybe get a remaster or something but that's just me. Great video sir!

Instead of a reticule a laser sight might have been a good idea that wouldn't break immersion by creating a red line between the weapon and where you're aiming (its not really how laser sights work but probably more realistic than the reticule).
First game I bought for my dreamcast back in 2000. I never finished this game, but I really did like it. Jaleco was my company back in the snes days(brawl bros!!) So I picked this up. Great review

Wait, what did you say the ship was called? I just finished a series of JRPG's called Trails of Cold Steel and the capital is called Heimdallr, the 'r' is silent, making it pronounced the same lol. Also, I love that they named the handgun the "19 O'clock", perfectly ridiculous.
I had a lot of fun with this game and lol moments too. The best way is to play it is with Japanese audio. That colonel shout doesn’t happen in the Japanese audio. He merely whisper it. Plus the voice acting is so much more believable.

The Jaleco label is generally a sign what you're getting will be weird. Brahma Force was a pretty great little game for the PS1, but the ending totally blew my mind when I was young. Also had some above average voice acting.
Have you tried a game called chaos break for PS1. I believed it only released in the pal regions and Japan. I used to live in Portugal and my friend had it. Very similar to Resident Evil game but with more puzzles. I remember one puzzle was literally a Sudoku game you had to solve. It also has a generic snake like boss.
I thought this game was surprisingly good, though it tends to get repetitive if you don't know what to do next and find yourself running around aimlessly until you figure it out. That made the game draw out for me by at least a few months to beat it, playing almost every day for a few hours.
I think if you were more precise/on topic with your reasoning the video would be more enjoyable. I'll give you an example so it's easier to understand what I mean, "You know what, it just hit me, that I've been jawing on about clones...". If you write out what you say in the video you'd probably see that there is unnecessary transitional language and run-on thoughts.
back then???? you mean always were about to ditch raster graphics so we as game deves can use ray tracing. hell both in metal gear sold five and red dead redemption 2 studied molded rendered and scripted the time table of a horse defecated and in RDR2 they also in included the ball expanding and contrasting by temperature.
this story is kinda similar to this weird anime called "Genocyber" which also has weird bio-creature infesting a futuristic aircraft carrier that was built by a super-national one world government locked in a conflict with rebels in a near future setting.
So, now, that I've watched it, two things: 1. Don't you dare talk that way about Zombie Revenge. 2. You of all people should know that the RE games _were_ in fact known for being graphically impressive. The pre-rendered backgrounds really helped with that, and not that many games were doing it. For C:V, I don't know what it is but I felt it looked even better than RE4, at least the PS2 version of RE4, despite both being full 3D. I play the original RE5 every few days or so, and it continues to look better than a lot of newer games, and especially games contemporary with it. The trend continues to this day with RE7 and RE2 2019. Ironically, I don't even care about graphics, but I always noticed this and remember it being corroborated often in game reviews.

Around the time when the PS3 was already out but Sony was still supporting the PS2 so I started buying up PS2 games on the cheap at GameStop and Cold Fear was one of them.
I just completed Tormented Souls and am now beginning this one. Somehow I missed this and never played it back during the Dreamcast days but I recently bought a new copy off eBay.

The look of the main character reminds me a bit of the characters from Hard Edge (T.R.A.G.) on PS1. Not the best game but I loved it back in the days.

i still got that game and never got around o playing it. Don't have a Dreamcast system anymore.
I thought this game was surprisingly good, though it tends to get repetitive if you don't know what to do next and find yourself running around aimlessly until you figure it out. That made the game draw out for me by at least a few months to beat it, playing almost every day for a few hours.

I think if you were more precise/on topic with your reasoning the video would be more enjoyable. I'll give you an example so it's easier to understand what I mean, "You know what, it just hit me, that I've been jawing on about clones...". If you write out what you say in the video you'd probably see that there is unnecessary transitional language and run-on thoughts.
back then???? you mean always were about to ditch raster graphics so we as game deves can use ray tracing. hell both in metal gear sold five and red dead redemption 2 studied molded rendered and scripted the time table of a horse defecated and in RDR2 they also in included the ball expanding and contrasting by temperature.

this story is kinda similar to this weird anime called "Genocyber" which also has weird bio-creature infesting a futuristic aircraft carrier that was built by a super-national one world government locked in a conflict with rebels in a near future setting.

I forgot how goofy the characters in this game looked, particularly the main character. Is he wearing the bottom half of a football helmet?
So, now, that I've watched it, two things:
1. Don't you dare talk that way about Zombie Revenge.
2. You of all people should know that the RE games _were_ in fact known for being graphically impressive. The pre-rendered backgrounds really helped with that, and not that many games were doing it. For C:V, I don't know what it is but I felt it looked even better than RE4, at least the PS2 version of RE4, despite both being full 3D. I play the original RE5 every few days or so, and it continues to look better than a lot of newer games, and especially games contemporary with it. The trend continues to this day with RE7 and RE2 2019. Ironically, I don't even care about graphics, but I always noticed this and remember it being corroborated often in game reviews.
Isn't there another game that was on a ship that was actually pretty decent? I can't remember what it was called though.

@@Gruntvc yup! Thanks! That's the one. I don't remember it too clearly now but I do remember (at the time) really liking it. I think I played it a while after it came out too. Around the time when the PS3 was already out but Sony was still supporting the PS2 so I started buying up PS2 games on the cheap at GameStop and Cold Fear was one of them.
