When you made the plunge cut into the 3/4 plywood, did you cut it in one pass? Wouldn’t that burn the router and the bit up?

For the sake of time it’s edited out but yes multiple passes to not burn out the bit

Can you use a trim router?

Yes but will take much more passes seeing the power is less and the bit will be of a smaller width.

What size clamp was that? I have the pocket jig but no clamp. Can you use a trim router?

Not sure, I have clamps of all lengths, whichever one handles the job.
