I just finished building the handrail on my deck ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z and used this great little router to clean up the top rail before the final sanding and stain. It was light weight but packed lots of power. Either size battery didn't seem to make it top heavy and I'm a 64 yr old women so I really appreciated how easy it was to use...................... CORDLESS only way to go !!

Thank you for taking your time to make this video. It was exactly what I was looking for. After spending 2 hours watching various videos yours is simple straightforward and the paste finishing wax looks like it fixes the major hindrance of the DIY jigs. Thank you again.

You can also use aluminium profile to make the sled. We have a couple of them to flatten the grids of pipe organ soundboards. They’re bigger than the one shown on your video.

Man that is so simple. Thank you. I Work in a wood recycling yard and am always bringing home wood of all kinds. When I grinding with the tub grinder and I come across something that looks interesting I set it aside, mill it (sort of) with my chainsaw and haul it home to dry. A lot of times (such as in most of the time) my chainsaw work is far from perfect. This sled is going to up my woodworking umpteen percent. Again thanks.

Thanks for this. I've been planning on making a Covid-lockdown desk out of scaffold boards, only have basic power tools, (Circular saw, router, etc) don't have room (or the budget) for things like a thickness planer and was dreading having to hand sand the boards flat. Your idea will save me a ton of time and more importantly money!

NOT a problem at all!! I like the simplicity of the jig & the operation of it more than the more complicated ones that are posted on here, that get the same job done at a higher price! Here's an idea for you that while I was watching your video that ran (Like a Deer at night crossing the road in front of you!) across my mind. On (Either or it doesn't really matter!) one side the "Box/Trough" that the router rides in, put a "Fixed Stop" across the bottom of the trough.
On the other side have an adjustable stop. So, that as your widths of the wood that you need to flatten increases & decreases you will always this safety feature in place! My idea is that these would be there to match the width of (That is determined by the width of the work piece. ) the rails that the trough rides in to prevent the trough w/router inside the trough from accidentally being pushed or pulled off from either side of the rails.
I hope my RAMBLINGS makes sense to you, LOL!
