My opinion is, it's not trapping in freezing conditions when it's below freezing for 2 or 3 days. That's called trapping during a cold front. Trapping freezing conditions is when it has been below freezing for at least 2 weeks and will not warm up till spring and the ground is like concrete. I trap freezing conditions in Northern Wisconsin with a lot of cussing and swearing to set a trap. Sometimes I wish I could go buy some TNT just to dig a trap bed.
I agree
The trap bed part would be a giant pain but not having to deal with the freezing and thawing everyday would be a plus I would think.
Nice cold weather catches
Good video as always. Thanks for your efforts. I never did great in the snow here in Kansas. I always thought they had me figured out. Didn't hurt to give them a few free meals. Gave me a chance to freeze my butt off and get some exercise. Still a lot of fun to try.
Thanks! Nice job 👍
I agree with dispatching the coyote
Excellent video as always 👍
Those aren’t freezing conditions if you’re still using a shovel. Using an axe, claw hammer or spud bar to clear enough dirt to make a trap bed would get you closer. For your earth anchor, try using a five lb. sledge to drive it in. THOSE are freezing conditions.
Great video 👍
How is that dirt (on the remake) so soft if it’s 16 degrees outside??
How are you making a hole in dirt like concrete?
Great video my friend!!
Great video. Thank you so much for sharing!!-Paul
Good information and video Alan. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and methods.👍🏻😎
In reality my friend, You are not setting in hard frozen dirt here< Up here in Canada , you need a chisel and hammer to even make a bed for a trap and the snow is deep all over so its very difficult to make sets as you do ! but I do enjoy your videos !
Freezing vs. Frozen conditions. I wasn’t trapping in Frozen conditions. The video is on Freezing conditions. Temp drops below 32d and that constitutes freezing conditions (dirt/traps freezing at night) Frozen ground is a completely different animal which this video wasn’t referring to, hence the Title of the video.
What if the ground if frozen?
That’s what I’d like to know
People that don’t know anything about trapping should see how these coyotes aren’t whining in pain being held in trap
Is that "dry dirt" waxed dirt?

Come out to Nebraska, would love to learn more!
When you dispatch your catch doesn't the blood make them skittish to approach your remade set.
No, blood is blood, they can’t determine whether it’s coyote or mouse blood.
the guy dont know whether he has caught a dog or a coyote
@@text1140 .
I hate when videos have segments with trapper chatting with the animal held alive in the trap. The first and only thing you should be thinking when coming on a catch is humanely putting the animal down, even if you’re filming a video
Don't watch it then....pretty simple.
