      I have not....questions unanswered.
We get strong storms here in the mid-west and I am trying to answer that control. Me think we must tie down at each move. With a closed end, which is needed, the wind would take it across the field.
      I want one...just haven't found a satisfactory answer...yet.

chickens prefer wooden roosting bars over pvc because they are easier to hold, and perhaps more of them than you have in your designs dust boxes are also good, having said that, great video, very helpful and informative, great design and love the bug zapper idea, cannot wait to try it out, well done

    • @JL-by4xu

+Jeremy smithThanks and I agree. My birds usually free range so they make there own dust baths no need to do the work. I use pvc for perches because it is more sanitary and easier to incorporate into a pvc tractor.

Very good ideas and details! I would center the feed shelf on the wall and make it wider with a wide/narrow trough so more chickens can get to food across the front and on the sides. While there head can fit through a 2 inch wire, their bodies still need 6 inches to stand next to each other. It will be less stress and pushing to get food.

@@JL-by4xu Yes, I could see one chicken being stood on on the right side of the feed room. There needs to be more room so no one has to be pushed down. Food time should not be laborious. It should be free. So it is not however it works best for you. Its however it works best for all the chickens... thanks for all the ideas :)

Very informative thanks. I found your youtube video on building the ultimate chicken tractor about 3 to 4 years ago. The tractor is quite resilient to the strong winds that we have here in central NC, USA. I am trying to incorporate wheels onto the tractor because it is rather heavy and expect it to be heavier after I install solar panels, batteries, electric fence charger, light and bugzapper :). I have found that rolling CT on a piece of 4" PVC helps get it to the next spot down the line though. Thanks again.

Nice design. On covering food, have had whole scratch grains get rained on, and get moldy at bottom of food bowl, and also get moldy after dumping on ground and day or two later young birds ate it and got sick. So now I encourage keeping food dry, no matter if it is whole grain or cracked or milled. Never thought about buckets for nest boxes. I would put boxes below roost so the girls don’t sleep in the straw. Pvc is good for ground contact. I would use 2” wood roost.

May I suggest you cut a branch/limb off a tree and tie it with wire to the steel pole you use for the chickens to roost on at night, this will be better for the chickens feet than the steel pole, but it will need to be replaced if the chickens eat it, make sure it's a branch/limb with smaller branches coming off it so 4-5 chickens can stand on it and it's okay if some of the tree branch reaches the nesting boxes so long as it doesn't go into the nest making it difficult for the hen in the nest.
