The reinsert the tape error is the common ribbon cable issue and they all need to be reinserted inside the camera. My PC1000 had the same error but is fine now :)
Sony advised that when they were making the sensors back in 2002 to 2004 they changed the process slightly which resulted in the tiny wires to the sensor were weaker and broke :(
I have a Sony DSC-IP1E on its way the smallest Micro MV model which is working but the lcd only works when it is flipped around facing outward and flush with the camera so that will be the ribbon cable too
@Raptor50aus I'm not sure if this camera was ever sold in North America. I only seem to see the IP1E. I would like to have one if it's the smallest ever. Thanks for commenting.
@Raptor50aus I just ordered one on EBay. It has the 32:11 error, maybe I can fix it. If not I can at least do a size compare and say I have the smallest ever tape camcorder.
Same battery as my Sony DCR-PC1000E MiniDV Handycam. Very hard to find now. My PC1000 came with 3 batteries and 2 were dead (swollen). The 3rd is ok still.
None of my batteries work, including a new one I bought on eBay. And the camera section goes bad on all of these. I guess they were cheaply made to make them as small as possible. Thanks or watching.
I had a red PC55 when I was 13! I loved it, and even though the quality wasn't amazing, it being so tiny was revolutionary! Took it everywhere!

The PC5 is the worlds smallest miniDV camera. The worlds smallest tape based camera is the Sony DCR-IP1 :) which is MicroMV
I have to correct myself. I said that Sony should have been able to make the DCR-IP7 smaller, and it turns out they did. This thing is tiny.
The SMALLEST TAPE based recorder is the DCR-IP1 that uses Micromv tapes. The PC55 is indeed the SMALLEST MINIDV tape recorder.

You have three. Honestly I would say open the one with the most issues, mess around, learn it and maybe even consider swapping parts between the 3.

I just picked up a PC55 like new in box for $15 :) Will see if it is the same. :)
I wonder is my PC1000E is the same size and it inc a viewfinder. Looks like the same shape and uses the same battery.
I had to take my PC1000E apart and reseat all the ribbon cables which fixed mine. Common issue on alot of Video 8 handycams too
