I haven't seen anyone else talk about it but I appreciate the information being in the subtitles rather than constantly popping up midvideo. Sometimes I really do want some background and want to learn about what's being restored and other times I just want to decompress and watch the process and finding this channel has given me the comfort of both and I didn't want to pass up on saying thank you❣️ (comment brought to you by an easily overwhelmed autistic person

I once watched a wristwatch taken apart, repaired, and reassembled. I was flabbergasted that everything was in its place...I asked how he was able to remember where everything went...
I could hear the chuckle in his response...he said he played the video of the disassembly in reverse...and thus was able to put everything in its place.

Thanks to this video, and my Flemish origins, I learned a new word in English. It is about Waffle that we translate by "waffle" and that we pronounce "Wof". As Flemish is not written, the transmission of this language is done only by word of mouth.
Congratulations for the restoration of this device that reminds me many memories. It was "a feast day" when our grandmother took out her appliance whose heating was done only on the coal stove.

@@AntiqueVintageRestoratioNs I have my grandma’s waffle maker. The rectangular plates come off so you can flip them over and it opens out flat to use the griddle side of the plates. I rarely use the griddle, prefer waffles. Also easier to clean than the new ones. I should really give it a good once over and get it shiny again.

Thank you for showing your beautiful work restoring this old Scandinavian style waffle maker. You might want to consider buying a heated ultrasonic bath, resistant to Natrium Hydroxide. Hello, well done. You are the only restorer I have seen who uses power tools to take apart, and put back together their project. Maybe you know this, but if you had soaked those greasy / oily parts in white vinegar overnight, most of it would have dissolved. How many coats of sunflower oil did you use to season the griddle?
The waffle looked good, though I am strictly a butter, and pure maple syrup person. 😊
