Edit: I also briefly mention Bandits Guile, which I know was brought back as the Guile Charm legendary- However, Guile Charm is trash compared to original Bandits Guile. xD Bring back the REAL red buff, Blizzard! xD I don't quite know where/how to timestamp this one, folks, since it's really just a video meant to express what drew me into the class and why I've basically played strictly only rogue for 15 years. That and making really bad puns/evil shiba shenanigans on 'unsuspecting totally real players and not unpaid actors'. >> Regardless, I hope you folks enjoy it, and thank you so much for your support and interest in the channel, whether you've been here for 10 months or 10 minutes. ^^
I have to watch this a second time cause the first time it was all about that soap opera that were your written tips... and subsequent adventures. Yay evil shenanigans. You're my hero for the 200th time.
xD Yeah I had a lot of fun making this one, I tried to think of all the most despicable things I could do as a rogue to use for most of the background footage.
I've been playing a rogue since 2005 as well (Rinah-Llane) and through various epochs this same rogue has changed race and class and sex numerous times. I took a break from March 2017 until early December 2020, when I had an epiphany/realization that I wanted to return, not even knowing that there was a new expansion! I mostly pve, but will say there is something special about rolling outlaw in pvp arena. Opponents therein have grown accustomed to dealing with subtlety rogues in the current meta, and choosing the pvp talents disarm and the armor stealing (akin to old school armor penetration) plus blade flurry cleave makes for situations that are extremely taxing for the opposition to dynamically manage/adjust to. Thanks for all the outlaw related content, I thoroughly enjoy it and incorporate the highlights into my playstyle when applicable.
Happy to help, Chimbocoto. ^^ I can definitely agree there is something kinda surprisingly/unorthodox about Outlaw in arenas. Subtlety is quite heavily set in as the meta spec at the moment (though I'll be curious if assassination starts to come back into the limelight with their constant/recent buffs) but Outlaw has that element of surprise where other classes don't quite know how to deal with it at times. xD
Yeah admittedly I had an account prior to this one, so I'm sure I'm technically over like 450 ish (I didn't play much at all during Cata, and in the early days I was supremely casual xD)
I actually do play a lot of stealth-focused builds in separate games now (Deus Ex: Human Revolution pacifist route was probably one of the most time consuming things I ever did) but I don't really remember playing anything that required being sneaky or stealthy until WoW, surprisingly. I mean I guess the 007 games but would be the closest thing.
I totally agree with you, there is something in the rogue that you can't replicate in other classes/specs. I'm main rogue too, also an outlaw, and i think most of the magic comes from restless blades, stealth and gouge
Yeah rogues just have a very unique place in the way they play and how they can handle enemies that makes you feel in control of things as long as you plan it out a bit. That strategy of CC/defensive/stealth is just really powerful feeling to me. My rogue is about the only thing I feel that powerful on, even when I eventually catch my alts up mostly on gear.
Crafting your own poisons , blind and vanish dust , stacking thistle tea , actually needed thief tools to pick locks , good time . The rogue is the quintessential adventurer of WoW and such a fun class to play with . Still playing my old nelf rogue as main character sins 2005 . 🍺
Exactly, Rogues actually had items to perform all their devious little tricks back in the old days. It felt very important when you had to restock on blinding powders and stuff and make sure you were stocked on all your various consumables to take things on. Yeah it was time consuming and much more costly than some classes, but it felt much more realistic in those days. While I'm kinda glad they've added Quality of life changes over the years (The combo point thing was probably one of the more irksome features of older expansions) there are a few little steps that I miss.
I see you being a Troll extends from beyond your race choice ;) Loved hearing your history though, I played a Druid first but ended up going Rogue because I wanted to see my transmogs but also still be able to Stealth. Never really play around with many alts, I have dabbled with alts but always feel myself wanting to go back to play Rogue. Also loving the current MA/KS build for M+ it feels really fun.
I'd actually been trying that build a lot this week and was quite happy with the damage and feel, though being stuck in place and potentially chunked during it is kinda sketchy.xD To be fair, with so many easy ways to do it, the temptations are always around. ;) Those were actually just a bunch of class trials/alts of my wifes, I'd never actually do those things to people, as tempting as it can be. ^^; Seriously that 1 quest NPC had a respawn time of like 8-9 minutes and we said to each other while waiting was 'wow that is a really dick move huh xD'
Falling in love with a class is great. I only wish it didn't take me till WoD to give paladin an earnest try and be blown away by the utility it brings to a group.
Paladin is a ton of fun too, probably one of my favorite alts I have. Usually I have my DK, Paladin and some times my druid up on the side when I want to do something different, but I still spend like 95% of my playtime on my rogues.
love the video and i wish i had your passion for a single class as ive been playing since TBC and have switched in and out of class's / specs / roles like crazy . Its like im always chasing that level of commitment to a class and i never have truly allowed myself that for whatever reason BUT even though ive never mained a rogue i have truly enjoyed your vids thus far as ive just stumbled onto them great job look forward to more
Thank you for the kind words, Drew. ^^ I've just always been a sucker for rogue, but when I do play an alt I usually stray towards other agi/melee DPS like feral druid, monk, DH, etc. They're all just minor projects for when I'm caught up on everything on my rogue though, and even then it's rare they get played. xD I plan on working some more non-rogue stuff in each week, though I still try to keep at least 1 or 2 rogue-specific ones in for the chunk of my viewers that watch for that stuff as well. Hoping to see some more big PTR changes before 9.0.5 goes live.
xD That was an idea I thought of last minute because I was telling someone about the heavy junkbox farming for Ravenholdt rep and remembered you can individually loot items and leave at least one thing in a box. Muahahha.

rouge leveling was a pain in the ass in the past ^^ even in bc or wotlk times... in BFA i revisited my rouges and this was real change, such fluid gameplay compaired to the old days
Absolutely. XD Up until MoP they still felt pretty much the same. The Combo Point loss on target death was always a bit of a hassle so that being removed made rogue feel even better than ever. Also energy increasing in real-time versus the chunks was a blessing as well.
I also started playing in 2005. Very first toon was a NE rogue. Still my main all these years (280 days on this toon alone). I also switched to Blood Elf Horde (with this very toon). Combat, then Outlaw. I've rolled every other class, and I really like holy priest, but Rogue has my heart. I remember tanking Mother in BT during the BC days. Our tank dropped with 3% remaining, and I had 103% avoidance. Not 106%, but 103%. I yelled out "I got her! Don't quit!" I tanked the last 3 % with evasion, and we downed her (Progression). The hooping and hollering in vent was amazing. I'll always remember that. I always stayed right behind the tank in threat, and would vanish the moment the boss "looked at me", wipe threat and go right back into it. Tank used to get nervous, but there was a method to my madness.... hehe
Good video wish I had just 1 main but due to classes always being reworked I have several alts I had a Rouge for a lil while but that was when I was mainly pvping. Stay stealthy friend your a dying breed in wow
Thank you kindly, Brett. Yeah I couldn't imagine maining other than my rogue, I have a couple alts I hop on every now and then but being a rogue is just part of who I am at this point, I think. xD Take care of yourself as well, my friend.
Awesome video! Pretty much everything you mentioned is why i have also primarily only played rogue for the past 15 years. I see so many of my guild mates, friends and family switching through multiple characters and i just don't really get it. I've rarely had interest in playing any other class but my rogue. I have other characters for professions and that's about it. Great content as always!
Thank you, Frost. ^^ Yeah I see people who already have like 6 alts at 60 that they keep hopping between as soon as they hit like 200-205 ilvl and then change their mind and move onto the next one. It just doesn't quite make sense to me. Usually alt leveling is something I do when I'm exceptionally bored of the current content and that's basically it. Most of my extra characters are around for their professions and being able to transmog them with random stuff for fun. XD
