Ive been nerding out on this guy today & learned that he’s a high powered lawyer, eloquent, MMA fighter & is covered in tattoos under that suit! 🤩But also read a few 1 star reviews of his legal practice 🤭 Now I wonder if he’s just a charming sociopath...
I haven't read those reviews. They could mean so many things - they could be true and real, by reliable and actual clients / customers giving reasonable, unbiased accounts of their experience. Or the reviews could be fake posted by competition, or from actual but bitter and unfair former clients, or by the people who lost to them, by people who want to lash out and blame them, etc etc.
He wrote a book about divorce, and I'm not even married and I love listening to it (he voices the audiobook). I highly recommend it! "If you're in my office it's already to late" by James j Saxton.
I don't get why some comments here don't like this talk and sound so generally cynical. Of course he has to make generalizations when he's going to talk about men overall, the whole conversation is to some extent a generalization, but if you don't make those generalizations you can't communicate at all. Esther Perel is also full of generalizations, but also full of wisdom, just like I think this guy is. And the speech is focused on men, so of course he's going to talk about men only It's not a valid critique that he's not talking about women. Just because I support breast cancer doesn't automatically mean that I don't support prostate cancer. If you have a cause, stick to your topic. He's sticking to the topic, about men, only, which is great because if I wanted a talk about women, I would find one and I would hope that It would only talk about women and not men. and lastly, I think it's a very valid perspective the guy has the fact that he works with men as a career, in part as a hobby, and as a father. Why are so many people discrediting what he's seen? How many other people have that amount of background experience with men? I know I don't. I think people who disagree will see it as virtue signaling, and people who agree will see it as wisdom. So be it, such is the nature of this topic, but I think it's wisdom and he comes from a good place and it's not bs at all.
The "only" thing that got me through my two year divorce was telling myself what I would want my two-year-old son to do if he was in the same situation as an adult .
that's a point that the "experienced" speaker (or reader) didn't bother to mention though I am sure he heard about... maybe because that would've made men look too good? :)))

We all can stand improvement, but I understand what he’s saying. Men don’t know how to process hurt feelings without being angry. My father and brother don’t know how but my sons do. Frankly, I don’t know how I did that so I’m not very helpful when it comes to suggestions. I think you just have to want to be better to be a better person. It has to come from you.

I came here after seeing him in the video about divorce. My criticism is that he is wrong when he says men haven't done anything to others for them to owe us, and that we took most of the share most if the times for most of the things. Along with the bit before it, that starts at 9:50. The way men are raised is not code for blaming women, it is code for the wrong beliefs or mindsets that exist in the societies and polarized the two genders; men should be strong and invulnerable, women should be soft and emotional. Also, no need to bash Trump, whether you agree or disagree with him. It is more professional to focus more on the subject at hand.
yeah, he's as bad as politics as everyone else... unprofessional! "feel sorry for men" to help them? damn. I've been wrong all my life, I didn't feel sorry for all the people I've helped, men or women or kids or whatever. Current president at that time was awesome, and look at his kids - that's one of his greatest achievements. You know it, you are not stupid, you just want to be in a donkey trend and be invited
I agreed with a good amount of what he said or a slight variation of it. I agree men should experience their emotions more so they know how to process them a little better, don't go to a woman for it because that's a different ordeal, go to a good friend or a family member, express yourself, nail down your problems out in the open and solves them as you wish all problems to be solves. I disagreed with much, but what I disagree with most is his analogy of two people fighting over a lemon. The focus is that there are two people fighting over a lemon; one needs juice, ones needs rinds, but has anyone asked who the lemon belongs to to begin with? That's where I disagree. I think if you're the person who works day in and day out to provide for your family, you're working 40, 50, 60 hours to ensure that food is on the table, a roof is over their heads, that the kids can go to after school sports or do hobbies they want, you have a cottage up north, a beach house down south because of the work YOU do. Now even if they stay home, they "sacrifice" their career to raise the children you share, is it fair to be awarded 50/50? To pay alimony, to pay child support when you are perfectly capable of raising your kids on your own? What if this other person hurt you, they cheated on you, they stay out late on weekends to party while you look after the kids, they're buying a new mercedes every other year, you try and make things work but they string you along. Even if you could've done better, giving more sex, spending more time listening to your partner, cleaning when you get home, taking an interest in their interests etc. does that still justify what they can take? Why does a traitor deserve anything? "But they gave up their career to have a family!", yes but the other person gave up their family to have a career to provide for them. I think if it's your lemon you can do with it as you want, if you want to share than share, if not than the other person can fuck off
It’s fair that it is 50/50 split in divorce because u agreed to it. If u don’t like those rules then don’t get married simple as that. Marriage is a medieval institution which is mostly retarded and benefits neither party
The only thing is that I will say is that men and women have the same toxic problems. I'm a woman and I can confidently say that women can lash out just like he's talking about. So I get what he's saying but same thing goes for women. I still love this guy tho but yiu never know the guy who preaches is most likely the most villainous one... but u never know
At no point does this (for profit) divorce attorney mention what induces/sustains the vast majority of conflict between parents after divorce and it’s the family court ‘kids for cash’ policies (generally authored/sponsored by lawyers in office working in support of family law section of each states BAR association) wherein the court systematically/intentionally rank orders parents to induce conflict (more/sustained conflict = more litigation dollars for lawyers and more federal title IV-D dollars for family law district courts, textbook conflict of interest). Many family law attorneys would instead rather you play ‘blame a parent’ game than peek under the hood at the underlying cause of the ongoing conflict. There is often little to no conflict in rebuttable presumptive 50/50 outcomes and thus little money for divorce attorneys. Surprise surprise, yet another divorce attorney opposing shared parenting. It’s about money for lawyers and always has been. If you want to learn more about family law court shenanigans, see “Divorce Corp” the documentary.
