Honestly I think that with Lathrix's propensity for building, it would be completely viable for the FtD devs to have a Lathrixian Legion AI faction at some point!
I would happily (or not, maybe in terror) fight a Lathrix faction.
Lathrixian Legion would be the final boss faction. One shot from their ship, and your entire fleet is immediately obliterated.

But yes you are fucked by them as they are the only faction to expand quickly. Oh and they start at war with everyone because of the stringht they have.
Being so high up, you only need shields & strong materials on the one basal section, thus granting an advantage over sea-based crafts which can be attacked from all sides.

Until the enemy fields spacecraft. I think one of the factions only have one, so atleast it's rare.
And also most enemies won't even be able to hit you unless they're specifically designed for that.

ah yes, the idiocy of the FTD devs who needed to turn memes into lore and then sic their spambots on anyone who doesn't like them for changing a robot character into a human. Every single game that's not about animals has to have humans nowadays for some reason. Their lore is just shoehorning things and changing things that didn't need to be changed. Originally the Scarlet Dawn were aliens. Now they're gray talons who decided to go to space?? Why? No one knows because that's how the devs make their lore now.

americans proved that they can shotdown cruise missle with HOTWIZER, and rfg need only small nudge to rotate and dissintegrate(air resistance). soo basicly any at mid range missle with thermal warhead is enough to render rfg useless
aiming something that have side speed of first cosmic speed is not straightforward, there's only one fire solution per orbit, at realistic lookin only one long trajectory.
on top of that, nuclear device size of suitcase have power same as 10 ton rfg.

If you do a quest for Neter 2021 series I promise I will read up on the games lore and do a SHIT TON of cool logs for everybody to read. I would be excited to read other people’s logs as well. IMO that’s one of the best part of the last quest for Neter that ended early. Y’all remember Archivist Mekanikel (can’t remember if that’s his real name. All I know is it starts with an M)? That was amazing.

the game's factual lore is idiocy made by the devs. Like why did they have to change a cool robot character into yet another human in a mechsuit? And how on Earth does a human fit inside Rambot with his floaty hands? Also the FTD devs sic their trolls on anyone who doesn't like them. They have an army of trolls just like Paradox (the stellaris devs) to hate on anyone who doesn't agree with them.

It looks like somebody decided the regular Coffin Nail wasnt good enough.
*turns a coffin nail Into a pac doom shit with some really redundant hull changes and it's in short a flying tank with internal nuke because fuck it I love things going out in style and I would be using a orbital flyer just to watch the fights because most things are new armed right by core so I'd you do end up killing it's just gonna be whiped out.*

8:45, 17:01 This is incredible, it's like a space station with lazy/unqualified people on board, but due to how well it was built and the AI, it still manages to be a functional menacing and destructive force.

I’m not usually a huge fan of build videos, but for some odd reason this video was soothing, entertaining, and just fun to watch. I think it’s that lathrix doesn’t seem rushed, stressed, overwhelmed, or sound burdened by trying to get this to us quickly. Health is wealth and this was an amazing video. First of all, I love seeing your more aesthetic designs, especially the mannikins. Second, you could call it the sciencatorium.
2:05 it's basically a *"Rod from God"* kind of weapon :D
(it's when you fire like a telephone pole of solid depleted uranium from orbit, basically the ultimate bunker buster.)
People joke about a science station having such a colossal missile on it, but two things - this station supports the construction of wartime craft, so it should have some defence, and it being a science platform it actually makes sense that it has something of the sort as a delivery system for whatever it wants to test. Its missile can have any sort of other missile loaded into it for testing of that type of thing or be used as the weapon itself.
Additionally, for center of mass, it would be a decent idea to have a heavily armored sort of inverse dome or other solid shape of metal as a lowermost ring. It would protect the craft from some attacks that it might come under and serve as a sort of keel for thrust purposes.

I know you don't post often and that you diversify your content a lot but please make another stellaris episode I'm hooked on the new playthrough like a crack addict

If you completely fill that huge missile with tiny bomblets, expect the game to freeze for a moment as it loads in a literal cloud of them. Very fun to watch.
One neat thing about kill satellites is that unless your fighting the Scarlet Dawn and maybe some Steel Strider craft, most factions have trouble even reaching you in space. Just armour the hell out of the bottom and treat it like some sort of frontsider. A kill sat powered by RTGs with a durable shielded bottom will probably be functional against 90% of enemies you face just based off economic movement and how almost impossible they are to take any real damage.
Potential names for the space station: Squarf. Obvious reasons.
Sarry. The spaceborn cousin of Larry. F.R.O.G.S, or the Future Research and Orbital Guidence Station. (This was going to be a not strained acronym. Then I realized I don't know any good G word's)
And the lathrixian institute of defensive technology. What we don't tell them is that the defensive technology is that of our enemies, seeing if it can withstand our weaponry.

Or given then shape and all the rooms and levels, maybe the Honeycomb?
The big missile can be known as the "Queen" class and the smaller missiles it spawns can be called "Wasps" or "Drones".
If you hit backspace when you're building you can build all the fancy shapes without connecting them first, it makes it a lot easier

Lath you should make the rotating section you have at the bottom a radar bit. Might look sweet.
Lath is making a weapon that was considered and designed in real life called “Rods From God” where you would release a massive metal stick from space that would make big boom from the kinetic energy alone. Absolutely brilliant.
As a side note, I love how much Role-Play there is for this and a lot of what he does.
An idea for you consideration: use the large resource containers for counter weights, give the spinning sections resource collectors and a massive satellite. Maybe even a shield(s) for defense.

8:09 Fun fact! Nuclear fission reactors glow blue when in water, due to the radiation going faster than light. Combine that with the fact that rtg is "*Radioisotope* Thermal Generator", and I get the feeling the engine room is *_immensely_* radioactive. Like, Elephant's Foot radiation if hazmat isnt used.

As for a name suggestion, I'd like to suggest Gungnir, after Odin's spear. I think it fits, with the literal rod of god the station has for a spine :p
In the latest update they added they ability to build in the air if you press backspace while in build mode. This can be very helpful when figuring out the shape of a vehicle and to avoid disconnecting blocks.
Finally FTD is BACK
You need to make the ultimate cluster missile. Huge -> Large -> Medium -> Small, all properly staged.

Finally, a video how to make a death star kind of space station. I need that, since I tried something like this with a particle cannon and it just looks like a weird Nail of DOOM and it has problems aiming. Also of course he would go for a Huge cluster missle. A typicall Lathrix.
A Very powerful single shot railgun or laser would fit very well with the aesthetic of this craft.
You could always add a laser defence system at the bottom of the space station that way most of the incoming shots will be intercepted I understand that laser defences will drain a lot of power but it would be a cool addition to have the laser munition defence.

You could very easily have the main thruster on a spin block, so that you can have the one thruster for going in each direction. This could be achievable with acbs changing the rotation of the spin block based on which direction the ai wishes to go.
The giant missile idea reminds me of that one movie that had a space station armed with giant tungsten rods that dealt damage purely with kinetic force

The missile itself is 3x3 lath. With a 3x1 wall (the gantry itself) attached to it. Just think of it like the if you want a centered build
