Its been a little while. I want to say around $2500ish for trans (secondhand rebuilt) and all of the parts but it could have been closer to $3k after custom driveshaft and whatnot. I was able to resell some of the automatic parts so that offsets the cost. I found an old quote but its pretty long. If you call up Modern Driveline, let them know you saw this video, and tell them your year/make model Im sure they can help you.
I'm confused. In the video you cut open the tunnel for the floor shifter and then welded it back closed.... Why? Also, how did you calculate the opening position?
Its been a bit since I made this video but if I recall the previous owner had a jagged hole cut for the previous AOD trans/cables. I wanted to make a clean hole and likely cut larger than what was needed. At the end, after I had sufficient room, I welded it back up neatly so I could install a boot and make it all look pretty. Cutting the hole takes some measurement/guess and check. Having done this multiple times its typically easier to make the hole large and then close it up at the end.
