I will always admire Cradle of Filth's ability and willingness to include Latin lyrics in order to express something in fewer words or as an allusion to medieval Catholicism (as this album most obviously does, considering the story in 1400s France). Praeclarum custodem ovium lupum, as many have said, means (roughly) "the excellent guardian of sheep, the wolf". What's even better is that these words are in the accusative form, so they're used as the object instead of the subject. This leads me to believe that the general theme of this song is not speaking ABOUT the excellent guardian, but instead it is speaking TO the guardian, as if the Latin were saying "for the excellent protector of sheep, the wolf" like in a dedication. It's beautifully written. Keep on Dani. Spiral out.

Rosie looked so good playing the keys in this video and the fact that she took over vocals when Sarah left back in late 2008/early 2009 was pretty neat because she showed she could sing better than her during live shows. Nowadays she has her band called Gone Til Winter and I'm sure she still making music in some capacity over there.
I don't listen to CoF because I'm a metalhead but because I'm a mythologies fan and I'm amazed how well Dani amd his fellas cited myths, literatures, and legends on their songs. They know so much about these stuffs so I enjoy reading the lyrics more than actually listen to the music. The music is badass though.
