I've been a DF fan since 20 years ago and this song sounds (for me) just a little different that we are used. Definitely what has marked a progressive difference into the music of DF is the constant change of members. In the times of Caligula and Matte Moddin (Attera Totus Sanctus) they gived to us a great and impressive album. In the Caligula and Dominator ages, (we are talking about Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus) the sound was more brutal fast and agressive. In Where shadows forever reign, the sound was just a little slow and calmed (even with the evil blast of dominator) but now this sound a like combination between slow and agressive. And now, with a different vocalist and drummer DF sounds very different, just compare this song and Stigmata or Godhate (even Vobiscum Satanas), there´s no point of comparison. Excellent way to evolve. Great song.! A great and evil album wait for us!

After half a decade, the wait is over the Swedish giant with another killer album. Feels unreal to see Dark Funeral without Dominator, he was the soul. But anyway, thanks for the this masterpiece. Hail Dark Funeral, Hail Ahriman.
Soul? I mean he is an excellent drummer, and it's a pity he had to leave, but he was nowhere near being the soul of the band. That title belongs to Ahriman or Caligula, in my honest opinion. I will, however, acknowledge that he was probably the most talented drummer the band has had. Modin was excellent as well, but not at the level of Dominator. The guy was just phenomenal.
Like I tell people all the time, it's youtube. Things get lost in translation digitally. Especially at low quality rates. I miss the Attera-era style. Just so much more aggressive. Listened to that album nonstop since it came out, might listen to this a few more times. Just not the same energy and the vocals, while not bad, aren't at all what I (used to) come to Dark Funeral for. No balls.
I miss the Diabolis Interium and Secret of the Black Arts styles. But I also agree that bands shouldn't get stuck with one sound and try to evolve. I do like this more melodic DF and now I want to get We Are The Apocalypse. I'm curious.

"Let The Devil In"
I take a deep, good look inside myself
I open up the gates to let the Devil in
He's riding on the shadow of my soul
And everywhere I go, he'll be there walking beside me
The bringer of chaos
Through my eyes he sees the world
And the voices, they are guiding my hands
I open up the throat to sacrifice the lamb of God
And let the warm and flowing blood
Fulfill my emptiness and let the Devil hear
The futile, painful, soundless screams
He's riding on the shadow of my soul
I open wide the chest to feast upon the beating heart
And let the pulse arouse my flesh
And our eyes can see, so deep within the dark
When all is black we're marching on
We wander through the flaming pits of Hell
Where hungry beasts have waited since the birth of time
Of fire born and eager to consume
To scorch the earth, to burn the world
To cleanse the filth and drown it all in blood
The bringer of chaos
Through my eyes he sees the world
And my hands are no longer my own
I open up the throat to sacrifice the lamb of God
And let the warm and flowing blood
Fulfill my emptiness and let the Devil hear
The futile, painful, soundless screams
I open wide the chest to feast upon the beating heart
And let the pulse arouse my flesh
And our eyes can see so deep within the dark
When all is black and all is gone
