@@guillaumemonette6611 for me the original is genius and has the originality's raw magic but this one is polished to perfection. I'm not a musician though.
When I want to stop denying my own pain, I usually refer back to this video... I remember buying CD. It kept me company during hard times. Here I am again, at 4h30am.
When I discovered this track, I didn't know it was a cover. What a surprise for me to find that was a cover from Anathema but nowadays I still prefer this version.
There is so so sooooo much emotion in this piece. There are not many songs that resonate so deeply with me on an emotional level that they make me tear up, but this one gets me every single time. Everything about this song is perfect. But most of all, the guitar solo near the end. Utterly awe inspiring.
Imagine being burdened with a aching black hole in your chest from the age of 6 and finally finding a way to fill or empty that void if it makes any sense. At the age of 13. To this day cradle of filth is my ONLY true relief. Everything else that does help is just a salve. 28 y.o. now. 🤘🗿 Thank you for providing me an outlet and keeping me alive!
Can´t believe i just came across this video, it´s been months since the last time i checked into some Cradle, and to top it all Slepless, one of my all time favorite. Thanks
One of the best covers the great COF could’ve ever done! The feelings on this song are so deep they can not even been explained with words. Kvlt of the crow Kvlt of cradle!🦇
COF is one cool band.Even though I dont get it sometimes, it's over my head,I know.Dani is an unbelievable lyricist and the keys are perfectly placed. The band is truly amazing.
I would agree with your post, if it wasn't an anathema cover in the first place. Other than that, COF are pretty mediocre imho. (And yes, I'm aware I'm replying to a 2 yrs old post)

For those saying that the intro sounds like Harry Potter, it's the other way around. Potter sounds like Cradle of Filth. This cover was released waaaaaay before all those HP flicks ever came out!! By the way it's a great song and COF killed it!!! The guitar solo is much better imo. \m/
As a huge fan of early Anathema, this is really cool! Especially considering that COF used to open for Anathema in the early days. Nice tribute to a great era!
@@ricardorigal5844 I know right?! I had all but forgotten about this song. I was having a moment of nostalgia and visited cradlroffilth.com to see if it was as awful as I remember. When I saw the video link I was moved into a emotional and sentimental wave of feeling. Hearing this song reminded me of someone close I lost 1 year next month and at the same time washed youthful memories and feelings. Strange..
I bought this EP because of Misfits cover and "From the cradle to enslave" song riff, beside that i was surprised of Danny Filth clean vocals in this cover. For me, only "The Principle of Evil Made Flesh" album is the best. I have other cd, some kind of compilation (i don't know if it is official or not) and that has covers of Slayer, Sodom and Venom.
Until today I had only heard Anathema's version. Now I heard this and I love it, this is so much better (Anathema's is also good, but this... Is awesome). And the video... Ear and eye gasmic song!

Cradle hace buenos cover hacen buen honor a las bandas en este caso le toco a Anathema como antes a Maiden y la cancion de No time to cry igual. No solo son cover es mejor otra version hasta mas llamativa que la original. Nice Cradle.
This song has lived rent-free in my head for over 20 years
One of those songs really
YES! :)
Anathema should be so proud of this perfect remake ❤
Dont think they would
The guitar is bad compared to the original, but its hidden by all the other sound effects. The cover is ok. The original is pure delight.
Original was against war at the time. This is a hollywood version that makes no sense.

I bet they must be, that's a pretty unique cover and most of us love it.

One of the most underrated guitar solos ever.
i think covers made by CoF are very very good and this is one of the best example.
This and Halloween 2 are my favorites
one of my most favorite songs of all time.
SAME! I keep coming back to it for like year now. A true masterpiece if you ask me.
For me it's been longer than a year. I got it tattooed on the left side of my back when I was 18 ish. Over a decade ago

Id looooved it and sounds better with time
I think that riff is just insane
The original is way much better
God his vocal ranges are amazing 😍
O yeah!!!

Tasos P. It’s pure anger. Despair.
the original song riff is so much better. although i like the twist that cradle of filth put on it, its less doomy i guess haha
A Wet Nightmare

We should thank Stuart Anstis for that amazing riff
this version has such a profound emotional effect on me, its like theyre tearing out my soul, simply amazing music.
unbelievable cover
Man Cradle were on top of themselves back in the 90's

I know! Fkn great
That brief voice at 2:30 is so good. I wish Dani would use it more often.
wow wow wow want so much more of this stuff please
