Just received an IWB bucks holster pro tucker hybrid and I absolutely love it. So many great options out there! Love my American made Bucks Holster. Wonderful customer service!!!
For years while I was a police officer and later for civilian concealed carry, I used the traditional IWB holster. They always were a bit uncomfortable (especially with a revolver) and always got sweat soaked. After watching your video I got a King Tuck from Galco. What a difference. Its great.. keep the videos coming.
Holsters are a bit like engine oil or gun oil: everybody's holster is the best! :-) A representative sampling of quality holsters was my main objective here. Doubt that my mission will be to try to obtain every holster out there, although I might do a follow-up at some point if I end up with several good ones not shown in this video.
15:00 "Its hard for me to quit shooting." The first step in dealing with an addiction is admitting its existence. I'm right there with you. Keep fighting the good fight.
Crossbreed holsters started it, and quality wise they are still one of; if not the best in that area. I will say that my new love is a StealthGear USA, Onyx holster. Reasons: 1) Breathable. I can't stress this enough. In Georgia the humidity during the summer drove me to pocket carry as the leather backing on most hybrid holsters was disgusting, and uncomfortable at the end of the day. 2) Stealthgear really thought out their design. So much so; that I think crossbreed is going to have to change things up a little to keep market share. -Minimized the kydex...there is not excess kydex which does change where you belt contacts, and how that belt shapes to the holster. -Minimized the backer material size. There is no backing where you don't need it. -It still distributes the weight the way the crossbreeds, and galco king tucks etc. do. -The kydex on the stealth gear is tacked with philips screws like hickock just showed on this video. So ease of maintenance; and DIY kydex replacement is possible. -My guns' finishes have been effected by the soggyness of the leather sheet backings on most of these. Stealthgear protects the gun with 3 layers where the gun print is on the Onyx...the rest of the holster has see-through air passage holes. -BREATHABILITY; again " The air floweth within thine Onyx." Book of CCW -Chapter 4: Verse 2
glockster68 Zero complaints man. I still love it. I carry my glock 26 in it. No sweat soak through still. It keeps just like my crossbreed does. Draws the same etc. I like it better than my crossbreed overall. It's all subjective, but I think you'll like the onyx.
Hidden Hybrid is the obvious choice here, there's to many on the bench... Hickok seems like completely down to earth and in any comparison I've seen of his he has never said one thing bad about a brand/make/model... I just bought the Hybrid Holster and got 10% off, GREAT deal, no shipment gouging either.. I feel for the money you can't beat a universal holster like that.. Even if I have to buy another (which I will) for only $52 it simply can't be beat !!!! Thanks Hickok I owe you lunch :-) take care
I like Fobus holsters. I have a friend has a Crossbreed. He swears by it. I did wear it once and I have nothing bad to say about them. There are so many holsters to buy, it comes what is nice and comfortable to you. I appreciate you showing all the different kind of holster. Have a good day....
One other difference between the various hybrids that some appreciate is whether or not the hardware is covered or exposed on the body side. The "princess and the pea" types can find exposed rivets uncomfortable during extended wear. The Minotaur MTAC, for example, has smooth leather stitched over the hardware that makes it more comfortable for some.
I think Hickok "gives away" enough. He dedicates a lot of his time giving people like you and I valuable information and a little entertainment ta boot. Keep up the great work Hickok, and it was a pleasure to meet you in Philly...
I have a Alien Gear 2.0 I ordered for my Beretta PX4 compact. The adjustable cant lets me wear it with fairly light clothing with out printing . What's great is that it works wonderfully with both my Walther PPS, and my Bersa Thunder.
Hey hickok45 - Been an avid watcher of your videos and enjoy all of them. I don't make many comments on youtube (if any), but I thought I'd let you know that Tucker Gun Leather was most likely the originator of this hybrid design. They call it "The Answer" because it was 'the answer' to the best of both worlds of holsters. I bought two - I believe in 2003 or 2004. At the time (from what I remember) they partnered with Comp-Tac for the polymer parts and Tucker made the leather part. (Comp-Tac only had the CTAC at the time then came out with their version of "The Answer" (MTAC I believe) a few years later.) Tucker's are extremely high quality. Really not comparable to Crossbreed. Crossbreed appeared to copy Tucker's design, and made it cheaper ($75 CB vs $125 TGL at the time if I remember right). As per Crossbreed's own website, they didn't come into business until 2005. I just thought I would let you know since you wanted to "give credit where credit is due" as you said. Tucker Gun Leather deserves a lot more credit than they get. They're expensive, but they are worth it; Especially at the time, when they were the ONLY ones with this design. -- FYI: I still wear the two Tucker holsters I bought 12-13 years ago several times a week. I have worn them for 16+ hours on several different occasions with extreme comfort. (No offense to Mark at Crossbreed. He was a nice guy. I just believe his ideas weren't 100% his own as his website may say.)
Awesome review on hybrid holsters. I swore by full kydek holster, because of the complete trigger coverage and adjustable retention. I have revisited hybrid holsters and now find myself wearing these types of holsters more now due to comfort and the balance of weight that is provided to the gun when being worn in the waistband. Thanks for sharing all this great knowledge and sharing your experiences.
I've got a Crossbread mini-tuk for my LC9 and love it, have worn it for about 6 months straight with no complaints! Good thing about the mini-tuk is that you get the combat cut without having to pay extra for it! Cannot say enough good things about it!!! Highly recommended for a daily carry!
I just bought the N8 squared holster after watching your reviews. And I have to say that I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Your review was spot on! Very comfortable! Thanks @hickok45 !
I've grown very fond of my Alien Gear hybrid holster for my Glock M29. It's the most comfortable holster I've ever owned. I love how you can adjust the cant, ride, and retention! It's cheap, too! $37 shipping and handling.
I love my Hidden Hybrid holster, from order I had it in 4 days. The felt backing soaks up sweat a lot better than leather only holsters, I haven't had any chaffing with mine. I was told by their customer support that they are currently developing a standalone mag pouch. For the price, quality and customer support I'll recommend Hidden Hybrid and I'll be buying more.
Great Video Hickok. I have carried a pistol for a living for near 30 years, I ordered a crossbreed for my G 30/21. after watching your earlier video. It is the most comfortable off duty/plainclothes holster I have ever used. I carried my G-20 in it and it was totally concealable under a tee shirt. I almost forgot I was carrying a full size weapon. Us old guys like our comforts. Thanks Again.
Yes, and they honor their life time replacement warranty. I accidentally bent the base and cracked it. When I called to get a replacement, they offered to send me another one for free or for $8 bucks I could get the new 3.0 base no questions asked. I didnt even have to send back the cracked one. I got the new one and I am liking it even more now. AlienGear has set a new standard in my opinion.
ken crockett I have great news for you. Aliens gear sent out an email last month announcing that a new mag carrier is coming out this month. The email had a sign up link to be alerted when it's released but they have no done so. But they are finally releasing one.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I have been looking for a good quality IWB holster for my M&P 40c and after going back and forth between each website it was really hard to compare them all. You have made it so easy by putting them all on one table. I really appreciate it!
I would like to see you do a review on the Stealthgear Onyx IWB holster. It is a bit different than the traditional leather and kydex and superb in comfort.
hickok45 Foxx Holsters also makes a hybrid thats about the same quality as the crossbreed at half the price. They're about $40 and ship within a few days.
hickok45 Will the baby Glocks fit in the G17/22 Stealth Gear Holsters? I just got a G27 with a 9mm barrel conversion and I want to get a holster that will fit multiple sizes.
I also recommend you do a video on the stealth gear USA onyx holster. I carry a glock 30 gen 4 and I forget I'm carrying it. I really think its the best iwb holster out there. I'd even be willing to send you mine to borrow if you can't get one from stealth gear.
Yeah, I'm new to watching your videos but I'm making an effort to watch a lot of them. I'm glad you and john make the effort and take the time to make and edit these videos. Ill do my best to like and share!
The wife and I both have White Hat Micro tuck's these days. She carries a Shield, and I go back and forth between a Glock 19, and an M&P .45-C. I love the interchangeable Kydex. The owner of White Hat, (Tony), has ALWAYS been VERY helpful with advice, orders, and really cares and believes in his product. So many great options to the White Hat line.
Ultimately everybody is different and needs to try various, pricey holsters to find a winner. Body type, firearm choice, carry preference, clothing, activity levels and duration of use vary between users and all impact how comfortable, secure and durable they prove to be. Even many good holsters can wear out! Start collecting holsters til you find what works. Its trial and error for everybody. Great video to get you started!
I own & use a Hidden Hybrid Holster. It works great both outside & inside the waistband. Superior quality material and workmanship. The felt backing he spoke of also provides excellent comfort against your skin in addition to helping to keep the holster from moving.
I gauge it by the reinforcement of the leather. most of these hybrid holster that I see is a single layer slab of leather with a kydex shell bolted onto it. To me I don't see a whole lot of ingenuity or thought put into it. It's too elementary. Reason why I look high upon MTAC and HHH is because of the reinforcement of the leather backing of both products. I agree that the other kind of hybrid holster works, but the lack of thought put into them makes me look down on it. I'm sure they all work for their intended purposes though...
Keyhole Holsters hybrid is in my opinion the best hybrid I've yet to find. Leather work is perfect and customer service was great. Highly highly recommend them to all my family and friends.
I just heard about the white hat max tuck holster and priced one out for the SID Sauer MK25 I'm purchasing. You actually answered a question I had in mind about the holster about the angle, you mentioned we can adjust the clips to change the cant of the weapon as preferred. So well done with that and thank you. I also watched your Beretta M9 and SIG Sauer MK25 review which I really liked, being an Army Vet, and can appreciate the differences between the two especially with my knowledge and experience with the M9. Great videos and wanted to leave you feedback, especially since you have answered several questions I've had.
I just bought a Crossbreed for my new Springfield XDS .45 because of your videos and recommendations, and I love it. Thanks for all the great videos, Hickok. I stop by almost every day. I really like that Mossberg 590A1 too. I shoot mine every week for fun and for zombie readiness. Keep up the good work buddy.
N82 is an awesome holster for all kinds of weather. Used mine for 10-11 months now and absolutely no complaints. I can’t imagine a holster could be more comfortable.
White Hat Max Tuck's in horsehide are fantastic. As you mentioned, I think it is the most concealable IWB holster. Crossbreed and others have hooks that go over the belt and says "FIREARM" to a watchful eye. WH has options for a Velcro backing of your belt and hooks, instead of J-hooks. Not to mention they do custom designs. I sent them my design and they printed it on the Kydex, looks just awesome. Very modular system, and when I compared them to other brands, WH had the complete package.
i carried a g27 in a galco king tuck for about a year and a half down in texas and the driver side of slide on business end rusted and pitted pretty bad where it made contact with sweaty leather. i go harder than most and sweat a lot as i work outside so unfortunately no leather for me. i found a local company that makes custom kydex with lifetime warranty, and they function great for me. maybe when i retire i will try leather again. i really appreciate your work h45, keep it up.
Tucker Gun Leather pioneered the hybrid holster, I believe. I think that Comp-tac followed them, then Crossbreed, and now we have several manufacturers as is obvious after watching this video. I've looked at many different hybrids, and the Tucker still gets my money; I own one for each of my two primary carry guns. Fantastic customer service as well!
Hickok45, thanks for another great video. I would like to see a video on gun belts. It would be great if you could show leather and synthetic belts that you like.
Yeah, they really don't quite fit the genre with two spread-out clips and such. The main reason I included it was the large pad, which cushions the gun really well. I don't know that the weight is spread out as with the others, but people can decide that for themselves. I've not worn it enough to be sure about that.
The Kydex is molded for specific guns, so you need either a different shell / scabbard or a whole different holster for different guns, at least with most of these I've seen. I don't care as much for one-size fits-all holsters when it comes to Kydex. Neither am I likely to switch out the scabbards to go from gun to gun. The biggest advantage in that feature, I think, is for when you sell off the gun and don't need it. Easy to convert the holster.
Superb video! You provided usable, real life information, hands on demonstration and a valuable opinion. I like all your videos but this maybe your best. The shooting community is very fortunate to have you doing such fine work. You are a UA-cam legend Sir
Thanks for yet another great overview. So, naturally, I just bought a kydex-only IWB, now I'm thinking the hybrids are the way to go. And, as you say, hard to find in a store; pretty much have to order online. Especially with an oddball gun; easier if you've got a Glock 19 or SS P365. My local gunstore told me they don't carry holsters period; they'd just have to carry tons of inventory for minescule sales. I get that. I checked out Cabela's, which DOES carry holsters, but its a long aisle, both sides, and I couldn't find a model for my piece and the sales folks couldn't help me. They just said, "Aisle X, if it's not there, we don't carry it." Great.
@hickok45 Thank you so much. I was looking for reviews of the best inside the waist holster for my Sig Sauer 1911 C3 and of course I search your videos and find the best review on the Internet. We all appreciate all that you do for the firearm community. I always go to you first for all information on firearms. You are truly the best!!! I have just placed my order for the Crossbreed SuperTuck Deluxe!!!
Not at all. I have a barn full of stuff that will never end up in a video. Guns, holsters, & ammo are three staples of shooting, and I look forward to showing them. Now, I DO get some quirky holsters, or holsters that are nothing special that just don't ever make it to videos. This type of holster is quite a phenomenon the way it's taken over the IWB market. I love them and use them and wanted to show as many as possible.
Mr. Hickok, Thank You so much for enlightening us on the various holsters that are out there on the market for those of us interested in purchasing a concealed carry holster. Sincerely, Marshal Davis
Crossbreed guy here too. People talk about having a drawer full of holsters. I've seen ads and heard about crossbreed for so many years so I did a little research into them and some other companies and found nothing but good things about crossbreed. I ordered one and it is my first and last holster... atleast until I buy another carry gun ;)
New cool toy idea! The electronic gong,( for paper or cardboard targets). Clip a small motion relay sensor to the target and when the bullet hits the paper the signal is picked up by a receiver on or next to the shooter and the gong sound is produced. Like shoot and see targets only audio. Even a cellphone app would be cool. Love that gong ringing like so many others.
i just purchased a comfort-tuck for my glock 23. first time i sat down with it i fell in love with it. i can wear it comfortable in my car, computer chair, easy chair. and can easily draw from almost any position.
I've made my own hybrid holsters for my guns and have been wearing them for a little over a year now. I agree with statement that these are the most comfortable holsters to wear for IWB.
I looked and looked at holsters. There are so many out there. I kept coming back to Crossbreed for some reason. So glad to see you recommend them. Life is good. :)
I bought the Comp-Tac Minotaur after seeing this video (only 3-day production time). I have been wearing it now for 4 weeks with my Kimber Custom II. It is a great holster. BTW, gave you credit on the Comp-Tac site for the referral. Keep up the great videos!
I really enjoy your videos. You sharing all these cool things that me and millions of other people like is truly awesome. Thanks and keep it up. Life is good!
A very informative video hickok45. I've been thinking about picking one of these up, and your video helped to convince me to do so. A well put together, and well spoken video. Thanks again for making a video we can all benefit from......And I'm not new to weapons by no means......
I like these type of holsters too. I had a crossbreed, but I found a local guy out in NC who makes these type of holsters mtr custom leather and I swear his just feels better or I just like supporting a local. lol Anyway love the videos hickok no matter what you do in them lol.
I own two of the N8 squared Tactical holsters. Very comfortable, easy to take on and off, but the best thing is they keep sweat off of your weapon. Something that is very important if you carry here in the south.
Hello Hickok45, I appreciate all of your videos! I always view your videos on specific guns before I purchase one!! Just purchased the Springfield xdm 3.8 compact 9mm, based on your review, and bought the Stealthgear IWB holster, great holster for every day carry with minimal sweat. Glock 17 on my list next. Keep up the awesome work! I respect your opinion!
Thanks Hickok. Nice video as usual. A follow up on a good belt would be perfect. All holsters are going to be as good as the belt you have it on. I'm still searching for the perfect one. Thanks again.
Hickok and fans, I recently got a hybrid holster from "Old Faithful" for my Glock 27. They send all the parts with the molded kydex for any specific gun. Then I assembled it in about 20 minutes. It feels comfortable, is made from high quality materials and cost less than many of the other hybrid holsters. They shipped it in a timely manner too.
White Hat holsters have them also. They also sell just the Kydex so you can mount it to the leather backing without having to buy another holster...great value.
I'm a big fan of N82 holsters, very comfortable. The backing is pretty good for when you sweat. It's nice not feeling the gun against your body as well. The backing also helps to keep it from moving around.
Lol! I know what you mean. You're going to love it. I've had mine for 5 days now and it is definitely the best holster I've ever owned. So comfortable!
The CompTac MTAC saved my hip in a motorcycle crash. no injury to the holster whatsoever. AMAZING! Concealed carry saved my from hip injury.
I'd love to see an updated version of this video of newer holsters
Just received an IWB bucks holster pro tucker hybrid and I absolutely love it. So many great options out there! Love my American made Bucks Holster. Wonderful customer service!!!
you are the number one source for all things firearms. You have a great camera presence. Thanks for continuing to make great videos
For years while I was a police officer and later for civilian concealed carry, I used the traditional IWB holster. Could you possibly do a review of urban-carry? The G-3 or possibly locked-leather IWB holster?
15:00 "Its hard for me to quit shooting." The first step in dealing with an addiction is admitting its existence. I'm right there with you. Keep fighting the good fight.
Love H45 as he is one of the very few reviewers whom actually shoot his weapons and enjoys it. Keep it up H45

No compliance How well is it holding up? i was thinking of getting one for my glock 27. Thanks, and thanks to Hickok for making another great video.

I have two onyx holsters and they are my best. None of my others come close.
What's crazy is my old Crossbreed Supertuck is still my favorite IWB... and i got my CCW in 2008!
Hidden Hybrid is the obvious choice here, there's to many on the bench... Hickok seems like completely down to earth and in any comparison I've seen of his he has never said one thing bad about a brand/make/model...

You're the first video maker that I'm looking for on demonstrations. Thank you hickok45 reliable as ever !
I understand. I enjoy bring useful information to shooters, regardless what it is, but shooting, of course, is always more fun.
I think Hickok "gives away" enough. He dedicates a lot of his time giving people like you and I valuable information and a little entertainment ta boot. Keep up the great work Hickok, and it was a pleasure to meet you in Philly...
I've used a Crossbreed Supertuck for my Beretta 92, and my Springfield XDm 45 for almost a year now. Outstanding product.
Thanks for the upload.
I just love the way you share your experience with us, the public. Great video Mr. Hickok.
You have over a million followers. These companies gotta take what they can get in terms of reviews. Its the honest truth.
I have been using a Foxx holster for a while now and wear it everywhere. Very comfortable. Good price, free shipping. Very sturdy.
Couldn't agree more. I have one for my Ruger P345, Beretta 92, and Sig P229. Very happy with mine
LOVE crossbreeds! gave one to my brother for his last birthday now he loves them too
I have a Alien Gear 2.0 I ordered for my Beretta PX4 compact. The adjustable cant lets me wear it with fairly light clothing with out printing
. What's great is that it works wonderfully with both my Walther PPS, and my Bersa Thunder.
Got a Crossbreed a while back because of one of Hickok's videos. Wonderful holsters, you will not be disappointed.

+hickok45 I was planning on concealed carrying a 686+. I was hoping you had some holsters to recommend. I am biased towards iwb and under the arm pit
I was going to comment this as well. I would love to see you do a review on this holster @hickock45
Wow, you got those holsters on and off quicker than most people can draw.
Never heard of them is one reason. :-)
Also, with Hickok45 around, life IS good.
I also recommend you do a video on the stealth gear USA onyx holster. I carry a glock 30 gen 4 and I forget I'm carrying it. I really think its the best iwb holster out there. I'd even be willing to send you mine to borrow if you can't get one from stealth gear.
+Jared Josey You've missed quite a few videos. I wear one in several videos and have even plugged them as my favorite.
Alien Gear offers a lifetime replacement scabbard. Change your gun you carry? Send the scabbard back and get one free for your new gun.
Its cool, but when your life depends on it I would go with the best gear, not the best warranty program.
I wish they had could have one for my shield with laser and light
@@Alex-fc9yw they are made out of a polymer blend not kydex. Alien Gear is made with quality man
Jim Morse just purchased thanks for info got one for my 45 shield can’t wait for it to get here !
Great video to get you started!
can you do a Alien Gear review
I own & use a Hidden Hybrid Holster. It works great both outside & inside the waistband. Superior quality material and workmanship. The felt backing he spoke of also provides excellent comfort against your skin in addition to helping to keep the holster from moving.
you missed the best one.... alien gear holsters
lol. super thin leather. they're made like a 15 year old made it.
The best one is Hidden Hybrid Holster and Comptac MTAC. Now that's quality.
khyoon14 I prefer the Tommy Theis holster, personally. Hidden Hybrid is, to me, a very close second.
Took the words out my mouth!!!
Keyhole Holsters hybrid is in my opinion the best hybrid I've yet to find. Leather work is perfect and customer service was great. Highly highly recommend them to all my family and friends.
is he awesome! or what.
I have been using a hybrid IWB holster and like it.
Thanks for showing all the different brands in one video.
Excellent post, as always, hickok45, sir!
Paying attention to the details makes a better choice. Good Job buddy
Very modular system, and when I compared them to other brands, WH had the complete package.
i carried a g27 in a galco king tuck for about a year and a half down in texas and the driver side of slide on business end rusted and pitted pretty bad where it made contact with sweaty leather. i go harder than most and sweat a lot as i work outside so unfortunately no leather for me. i found a local company that makes custom kydex with lifetime warranty, and they function great for me. maybe when i retire i will try leather again. i really appreciate your work h45, keep it up.
all of this is why i watch and subscribe to Hickok45............ information, learning and so on. so, thank you.
LOL at the crosses on the crossbreeds. "I kick ass for the Lord!"
n82 tactical was started in tyro nc less then 5 miles from where i grew up. awsome to see people being sucessfull.
Hickock45, thank you for all of the reviews and all the time you spend in making these videos. It's like going to firearms school.
Yeah, they really don't quite fit the genre with two spread-out clips and such. The main reason I included it was the large pad, which cushions the gun really well. I don't know that the weight is spread out as with the others, but people can decide that for themselves. I've not worn it enough to be sure about that.
I just got my crossbreed super tuck today and couldn't be happier. Great holster!
Memphis, TN here. Been watching your videos for a good while. So much info in them. Please keep it up!
i carry a full size 1911 in a crossbreed and i have to say having the leather between you and the gun makes a massive difference in comfort.
Thanks hickok45. I have finally been able to find a holster for my P64 (crossbreed) and my FMK (White Hat). As always I enjoy viewing your videos.
Thank's a lot for the run through Hickock, been trying to decide which one to get and this helped tons!
Just bought a cross breed.. was worried it wasn't going to be what I hoped. Pretty reassuring to see that Hickok rocks the same one.
Mr. Hickok,
Thank You so much for enlightening us on the various holsters that are out there on the market for those of us interested in purchasing a concealed carry holster.
Sincerely,
Marshal Davis
Great choice I have 3 for my main carry guns they have never let me down and I wear them all day they are awesome holsters !
Amazing how far we've come in holsters since the old west times. Thank you for your videos
Crossbreed Supertuck user here. Love it and I agree this style really spreads the weight well. I
Hello Hickok45, I appreciate all of your videos!
There is Guy on Ebay who makes them by hand. Half the cost, and great quality.
I own 2 Crossbreed holsters, one for my 1911's, and one for my S&W j frame. Love them both, they are very comfortable.
I have used Crossbreed holsters for years and love them.
White Hat holsters have them also. They also sell just the Kydex so you can mount it to the leather backing without having to buy another holster...great value.
Upvote for Tommy Theis. I've seen people that have tried all of them and prefer Theis. Plus his customer service is outstanding.
Awesome selection of holsters thanks for doing this review!
I'm a big fan of N82 holsters, very comfortable. The backing is pretty good for when you sweat. It's nice not feeling the gun against your body as well. The backing also helps to keep it from moving around.
My one Cross Breed, my many White Hats and my couple Nate Squared Holsters are are great and have served me well for years. I have no single favorite.
Lol! I know what you mean. You're going to love it. I've had mine for 5 days now and it is definitely the best holster I've ever owned. So comfortable!
