Thanks for a great video. I carry my G36 in a DeSantis Scorpion IWB. A LEO for over 23 years, I've carried a myriad of guns in IWB holsters. You're right on the money with these new style holsters with the wider clip points. With all the single clip holsters over the years, I found the rubbing of the clip holsters, from them moving and swiviling, very irritating. Now with the wide contact points of the double clips, there's no movement and I can wear it comfortably for long periods.
I've been a fan of IWB carry and used it since I got my CCP, occasionally I use a shoulder rig for winter or while driving for easier access. Keep up the good work.

Truly appreciate your videos sir. I’ve just began following you and have been wanting to learn more about conceal carrying and shooting fundamentals and have gotten really good insight. Thank you.
I just purchased a stealth gear usa Onyx IWB for my M&P 9mm Full Size and it is the best holster in production to date. They build each holster custom and the material that they use lets your holster breathe. Makes it very comfortable to carry all day long and you won't sweat and soak your clothes.
I laughed a the "oh mister bad guy why you wanna shoot me" at the beginning, I lost it on the one at the end. Hickok is a comedian too. Love the channel love the info.
I enjoy watching your videos and seeing your experience! I wear an Alien Gear cloak tuck 3.0 and have been for about a year, almost every day, with no problems. it's got a neoprbacking on it so it seems more comfortable than just leather... thanks again for all of your videos sir! Blessings....
Another tip for if you choose this method of carry is to wear an over garment that will allow you to easily and consistently sweep it out of the way. I found that sometimes a shirt that was too thin or light might cling to much to the under shirt or just not allow me to separate it from the other one as they kind of get lapped and folded to each other. Also an old trick with a jacket or anything with a pocket down low on it is to weight it slightly. This helps to get it to swing out of the way more reliably than just the light weight of the fabric. Something like your car keys would do the trick. I have read of one officer that used to sew little lead weights into the bottom hem of his blazer jackets, for this purpose. Whatever works for you. :)
For IWB oe OWB I've found no better holster than from Winthrop. Craftmanship is superb and without a thumb release my IWB holster holds my Beretta PX4 Sub C like a magnet. I've rolled around with it. Worked with it. Bent in every way a human bends normally and lived with it on every day for almost a year and its so comfortable I forget I have it on. Superbly crafted high quality leather holsters!
Another great video. I personally appendix carry inside the waistband and I forget I have it on me sometimes, been years of carrying that way and it’s my preferred method. The comfort comes with time
Just picked mine up for my new daily, FDE. My FNX-9 turned me to the 503, I wear light, thin suits to work down here in Florida. I have been carrying around a S&W 36 for years, so I am not concerned about capacity. Heck this is a step up, training does counter capacity. Remember the old CCW saying, "Every fired bullet has a lawyer attached to it.". I need something narrow, short, and light. I am pretty happy so far.......
Hey, all you quick draws are great, but as for me, I'll be seeking cover if possible, then I can draw and aim. lol Seriously, though, I do think we place too much emphasis on quick draw and gun fighting vs. survival first. If a threat is so close that we can't get to cover, they are probably too close to draw and shoot unless you're Munden or Miculeck, etc. Maybe in that situation a close combat defense move may be better. Or at least an evasive move while drawing.
@@natestain7103 You think you can draw on someone with a gun in your face and win? You need to head over to Active Self Protection and see how that works out.
Cory Lynn no the comment just sounded silly. Stating the obvious. There’s a zillion hypothetical situations. Sometimes running away gets you shot quicker.
This is a good topic for discussion. People will act differently for their own reasons of course. The main thing that needs to be understood, is what are you are ready to do. Are you ready to just draw and fire, are you inclined to get the other person to reconsider the consequences of their action or will you be able to take cover while while drawing. Because I have never been in a active attacked situation, I am not in a position to say what is correct. All I can do everyday is to be conscious of my environment so that I can make the right decision. In the mean time I hope it never comes to that.
Oh, wow. I just realized how anti-gun liberal that sounded. I was meaning that a shooter being gunned down by Hickok should be how mass shootings begin.
Hickok...I am lucky enough to be able to hop on and off UA-cam while at work, and in doing so, I always find myself navigating to your channel! You have the best firearm related videos on UA-cam IMHO. VERY informative and down to earth. Your perspectives are for the most part very impartial and unbiased. Thanks for sharing you knowledge and these videos! Hopefully one day I will run into you...I am just right down the road from you. Go VOLS!
Mr. Hickok45, just wanted to say I enjoy your videos and you have not only taught me a lot but you make me think "how could I do this better?" Which is an invaluable way to look at firearms, and firearm carrying. MLH&R
Another popular way to carry like this is to wear it in the front. This is pretty popular for those that want to hide their gun under a sweat shirt, or even a tee shirt, something pullover anyway. You pull up, aggressively and fully, the front of the shirt with your off hand and sweep up with your shooting hand drawing the gun out and up to the target in a fairly smooth single motion. I have carried both ways, this and the method you see here. I would say the advantages and disadvantages are essentially really more a matter of what you want and can wear. In the front was uncomfortable for me when sitting but I understand there are much better holsters for this now then 10-30 years ago. The trick to wearing in the front is to keep the length down to nothing longer than a Glock 19 and wearing it high enough, which requires the right holster. For me this was the fastest draw method, but I preferred wearing it just behind the hip, like you see Hickok doing here.
I don't know if you have seen or Hurd of alien gear holsters but my coworker has one for his ruger sp101 and he loves it... I have purchased one for a 1911 and really like it as well. The model we have tried is the cloak tuck 3.. great warranty ,seems to be well made and is fairly inexpensive.
I really enjoy your teaching you really know your business. I am somewhat new to the conceal carry . I’m 73 and go to rough places at night near Texas mex border with work !
I've tried several different brands. My favorite, and the one I wear EVERY day is the Ventcore 1.0. It's by far the most comfortable IWB I've ever found.
lots of good stuff sir. these types of videos offer much more sense than a sales person in a store or an on-line guess. apprecitate your efforts. thanks from Idaho
Seeing what folks have to do really makes me happy to live in the country. A pocket knife is more important than a gun around here. Sometimes a .22 rifle for the groundhogs. Yes we do eat the young ones. Very tasty in a stew.
Have you seen what's going on in Venezuela? Looks like a perfect example of what can happen when people are left unarmed & defenseless against corrupt government.
Desperate people being mowed down with automatic weapons and run over by armored vehicles is what's happening, which is every Leftist's wet dream. Leftism is a murderous, sadistic ideology.
I've been carrying concealed IWB with a 1911 or a Glock 17, 19, 22 or 23 for 31 years now. I made my leather IWB holster for my 1911 and made one for my first Glock 17. I've been using a Kydex pancake type holster that came with OWB loops, but I converted it to IWB by changing the loops out. It cost me $60 including the IWB loops, conceals well under an untucked T-shirt or golf shirt & is comfortable enough for all day carry.
Indeed it is insufferably hot for many here in the South for most of the year.....which is why I don't care for leather due to it getting soaked in sweat.
I live in south Florida i know the video it old...but to carry Conceal in the SUPER HOT 🔥 SUMMERS here if its bigger the a compact 9mm or 380. They have a lot of carry options now for bags & even if u want to use ur own they have all kinds of stuff to mount safely in any bag... im just writing this for new gun owners that have not had to carry Concealed it shorts and tank top weather... because before i moved here few years ago...i always carried on my body no matter what. Love this guy if u want to pick up great info this is the right place to start. & maybe IV8888 everyone carry & be free!
Hickok is simply the best. Love his videos. Very knowledgeable, humble and entertaining. I was just looking at crossbreed holsters and happened upon this video. I have a single clip kydex holster I just dont like that it doesnt have cant adjustability and it is a bit uncomfortable along with a slight print with the extended mag in my mp shield. If hickok likes crossbreed though I feel like I can't go wrong with them either! Thanks for the help and have a good day.
Aliengear holsters is the best IWB Holster out there. Shell Exchanges for LIFE! for any new firearm you choose to carry. For 35 dollars you can't beat it.
Funky Fresh If that were true we would hear a ton of similar complaints. I've used it for 8 months now and still intact, comfortable as ever. You're probably one of those guys who rather pay a ton of money for a leather iwb holster just to say you did.
+iTheGeek Instigating much? And how did I get owned? No body has proven anything but their opinions. So "Daaaaaaaayumn kid" Go find something better to do.
I use the smaller kydex IWB that you showed for my Hellcat 9mm and I love it! I carry in various holsters depending on the situation. When I'm in public I carry IWB most of the time. I was at a wedding and used an ankle holster for ultimate concealment where I was in the wedding photos and didn't want my gun to print in the photos LOL. I also use a kydex OWB when I'm in my coveralls here at the farm and want quick access to my firearm, in that case I open carry. No people up here to see me and my gun. With IWB and coveralls it's almost impossible to quickly draw your firearm.
I just got an urban carry IWB. I ride motorcycles everyday. Having a real tough time finding a comfortable position while riding. I wish the belt clip was adjustable. The Retention design is very good. It’s a quality holster but I’m going to try OWB. Another thing, I always have a cotton t-shirt on against me for sweat and not having the holster directly against my skin. Another t-shirt or polo shirt over the t-shirt. That works for me.
My favorite is the Old Faithful IWB holsters. They are much less in price than the Crossbreed holsters and actually have thicker leather and kydex. You can buy a build your own kit where you have to mold the kydex yourself, an assemble your own kit where all you have to do is put the pieces together and a fully assembled holster. They also give screws instead of rivets so you can readjust the tightness once it breaks in. Great company and great holsters.
Victor Smith Absolutely right. I think someone is better off, if a distraction presents itself, to use it as an opportunity to disarm and then draw. Better train for that one though, your only wrong once
I'm pretty sure this guy has the common sense not to take that 4 secs to reach to his back and up under his shirt w/ a potential shooter looking directly at him w/ the gun pointed at him. He's makin a vid about holsters. Everybody take a zanax and trust that 1 of the most respected and experienced firearms gurus prob in the nation wouldn't pull a move like that in real life.
Very helpful hickok, been watchin your channel for many years and now I live in va a gun friendly state I am getting my cc permit this is good info to have. I'm leaning toward the crossbreed looks really comfortable. Thanks for the upload.

Carrying concealed is a great idea so train often.. 1st rule for survival in any situation is.. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. You often hear.. "think out of the box".. MY first rule on that is.. "Don't build the box in the first place" You may quote me on that if you like.
Carry a P365SAS with a simple IWB and belt . I am 5-10 165 ish and it is invisible and comfortable. Even with my bad back with l3-l4 rods I forget it’s there . Almost Not really . Thanks for the videos Hickok45 and big John Hickok . The best firearms videos period.
I carry my Springfield XD MOD 2 4.0 .45ACP DOUBLE STACK in a Galco KingTuk IWB and absolutely love it! I carry at about 4-5 o'clock so the grip sits right in my waist and creates the least amount of printing. I highly recommend it.
You need to do a review on the Alien Gear Holsters... IMO they are top of the line for alot cheaper... $35 bucks man..... Better than Galco KingTuck and Crossbreed and many others IMO...
Funky Fresh Hmmm thats odd... Myself and my sister and brother in law have had ours for 2 months now and wear them almost every day and no problems whatsoever...
USMCKoontz I've had mine for 8 months running strong and still looks new. So many haters out there against AlienGear because they're Crossbreed, Galco, Bladetech fan boys.
I like IWB too Hickok. Mine is a JX tactical "fat guy" with belt loop option which I really like as it keeps the holster in place during draw. It's adjustable for angle and made of kydex so is water proof. I do have cross breeds and alien gear and like them too - they are super comfy. My carry is a Taurus G3C - which I have found to be reliable and accurate and is easy for me to shoot fast and well. I just wear an untucked shirt like you - usually a fishing shirt with a t-shirt tucked under but sometimes when it's super hot, it's just an untucked t-shirt and it works well.
IWB is the way to go. Open carry IMO is showing off and giving up the element of surprise. I use High Noon holsters myself, I am a fan of the "Split Decision" model. Nice video. Only fools pocket carry.
As with most things Hickok45 says, I totally agree. But for my money, for concealment purposes, YOU CANNOT BEAT A KYDEX IWB HOLSTER. I've tried both leather and Kydex, and I'll tell you why I prefer the thermoplastic. First, since the gun in tucked INSIDE the waistband, I'm looking for the THINNEST material I can find, and it's HALF as thick as any comparable leather holster. Second, I like the consistency of Kydex over leather. There is never any "break in" period, each one is exactly like the other. Also you can feel that audible "click" when the gun is fully seated, unlike with leather, and Kydex is totally impervious to moisture of any kind. I DO NOT like outside the waistband carry for concealment purposes, and I don't like pocket carry because of limited caliber choices, and I like to have all my pockets available for carrying other essential items, not guns. Just my take.
Even with this video is 10 yrs old it has lot of great tips & advice on how to carry IWB thanks I highly recommend Hickok 45 do and update & include Shoulder Holsters
It’s all about the right holster for each individual. That and a good leather 2” gun belt and finding the right position on your body. I have a drawer of shame full of holsters. Settled on a Crossbreed and an inexpensive Kydex single clip with a slight cant to it. Combination of that, my Glock 43, and carrying at about 2:00 to 2:30 position IWB is carry perfection for me. But it’s such an individual choice and method to find what fits.
Another amazingly well produced and productive content video. An important contribution to intelligent and responsible gun owners everywhere. Thanks for posting.

I was in a seriously foul mood till watching this. After absorbing everything (and maybe looking at some christmas shopping for myself and family) I have to say it's nice to know where to go for an open and honest opinion.
Then there was the 23rd minute mark. Life is good.
Hickok's videos are great. I'm a new firearm owner and I've been watching his videos for a while now. Lots of great information and opinions. super helpful for me and just want to say thank you! great job look forward to browsing old and seeing new posts ! thanks!
Another truly excellent video Hickok - not sure if they will remember you 10,000 years from now, but they will surely wonder why you had so much metal in your land!
+lastdaysguitar I can already see the headline...
*Paleontologists discover what seems like a hill of pistol cartridges and shotgun shells*
+tuck234 Lol, yeah; *_"In other news, a plot of land, in what was formerly known as "Tennessee", for some unknown reason, was found to have an unprecedented amount of brass, copper, and lead deposits. We've never seen anything like this before. Apparently there is a team of investigators working to try and find out what could have caused this, but the sheer quantity is absolutely staggering, and they're pretty sure this is one mystery that will forever be unsolved. Back to you Bob."_*
+tuck234 A major assualt or last stand happened here. And he lived to tell his stories
oh heck ya!
Hickok condones drinking and carrying. He is no role model
I love what you do with your left hand when drawing and holstering. I'm so tired of YT presenters covering themselves when demonstrating. The way you do it is the way I learned it. Bravo.
I just took my CPL class and am waiting for everything to clear for my license. I've really learned a lot from your videos and I hope you continue making them. Thank you for your help.
Congrats! Just completed mine last weekend here in Maryland. Awaiting the investigator to run my background. This channel has been phenomenal.
@@henrypolo2597 ha! i’m taking my cpl class this month, was gonna say he definitely is still making smart informational videos that have really really helped me out
@@henrypolo2597 The comment you responded to is a decade old at the time I'm replying.
Thank you sir, just got my permit want the easiest way to carry possible, your videos are awesome! Stay safe sir!
Truly appreciate your videos sir. I’ve just began following you and have been wanting to learn more about conceal carrying and shooting fundamentals and have gotten really good insight. Thank you.
This is my favorite UA-cam channel since I started carrying
Best channel on UA-cam, I've learned so much watching you for the past 6 years.
Thanks for everything, hickock45.
I just purchased a stealth gear usa Onyx IWB for my M&P 9mm Full Size and it is the best holster in production to date. They build each holster custom and the material that they use lets your holster breathe. Makes it very comfortable to carry all day long and you won't sweat and soak your clothes.
Brian Anderson thanks for recommending this holster cant wait to try it out.

I laughed a the "oh mister bad guy why you wanna shoot me" at the beginning, I lost it on the one at the end. Hickok is a comedian too. Love the channel love the info.
I been watching your channel for years and always find myself coming back to it . Thank you for what you do .
I really wanted to see you do somersaults down the hill for demonstration.
For all these years I've been watching you Mr Hickok45, here on UA-cam, you are a Great trainer. God Bless You Sir.
I love being an Arizona resident they make it so easy to conceal carry ....gotta love constitutional carry
This was just what I needed to learn! As always, thanks for your efforts, sir.
Another great video. I personally appendix carry inside the waistband and I forget I have it on me sometimes, been years of carrying that way and it’s my preferred method. The comfort comes with time
Your video's are such a wealth of information.. I love watching them.. Thanks
I can't believe 15 people liked this comment LOL
You do a great job of offering practical and useful info regarding ccw holsters.
0:00-0:06 How all mass shootings should end
So Damn True.
You mean begin. ;)
No, he means END. Good guys with a gun, stopping the bad guy with a gun...
Oh, wow. I just realized how anti-gun liberal that sounded. I was meaning that a shooter being gunned down by Hickok should be how mass shootings begin.
I think I can clear this up. How all mass shootings should begin and end.
I love this guy. So informative and cares about what he says. Keep up the great work sir.
watching this 2019 omg is that your range long time ago? wow it has changed drastically
Never a dull video ur experience comes through and it's great. I always learn something with ur videos. Great content until the next one.

"Don't wanna startle somebody at Kroeger." hahaha. Oh hickok. You're the best.
Wamen are easily startled.
MLH&R
Over the years, I've carried owb, Iwb, shoulder rig and ankle carry. IWB is by far my favorite carry method.
"Mr.bad guy why you wanna shoot me!?"
LOL!! Love ya Mr.Hickok45!
I do not like alien gear in any way. Very cheaply made and the deisgn is lazy.
They are affordable, but you get what you pay for.
I really enjoy your teaching you really know your business. I am somewhat new to the conceal carry . I’m 73 and go to rough places at night near Texas mex border with work !
Wow, I had no idea there were so many variants of the IWB holsters. Thank you for showing us your collection! Helped me make my decision.:-)

Great Info. Again, you are the best. Thank ylou.
It cost me $60 including the IWB loops, conceals well under an untucked T-shirt or golf shirt & is comfortable enough for all day carry.
concealed carry in the South is a different matter. its so HOT!
Indeed it is insufferably hot for many here in the South for most of the year.....which is why I don't care for leather due to it getting soaked in sweat.
Technically, he is in the south. (TN)
"You don't want to scare somebody at Kroger"
Too late.
I tried AG. The cloak 2 started coming apart at 3 weeks. They're cheap for a reason. Had to return it.
Funky Fresh If that were true we would hear a ton of similar complaints. I've used it for 8 months now and still intact, comfortable as ever. You're probably one of those guys who rather pay a ton of money for a leather iwb holster just to say you did.
Noel127 Aliengear Holsters are some of the most junk holsters out there lol. Why do you think its $35?
+iTheGeek Instigating much? And how did I get owned? No body has proven anything but their opinions. So "Daaaaaaaayumn kid" Go find something better to do.
+Noel127 my ag holster has full trigger gaurd i have 3 shells i trade out depending on the carry of the day, love the holster

I always go on the inside with a leather holster with my Kimber.

Thanks for posting this. I've been thinking about concealed carry and was looking for ideas.
Lol, the intro was great
My favorite is the Old Faithful IWB holsters.
Never draw on a drawn gun.
Victor Smith Absolutely right. I think someone is better off, if a distraction presents itself, to use it as an opportunity to disarm and then draw. Better train for that one though, your only wrong once
Mike Andrews h
I'm pretty sure this guy has the common sense not to take that 4 secs to reach to his back and up under his shirt w/ a potential shooter looking directly at him w/ the gun pointed at him. He's makin a vid about holsters. Everybody take a zanax and trust that 1 of the most respected and experienced firearms gurus prob in the nation wouldn't pull a move like that in real life.
Betty Swallsack Polly pissy pants over here.
Its okay because I seen the metal plate look away right when he pulled his gun so hes good.
Very helpful hickok, been watchin your channel for many years and now I live in va a gun friendly state I am getting my cc permit this is good info to have. I'm leaning toward the crossbreed looks really comfortable. Thanks for the upload.
you said you were wearing a dimond d custom belt. Is that from the company in Alaska or am i on the wrong site?
Yes, Alaska.
awesome that means i can save some shipping!
you sir are a verry wealthy man. you make a lot of good vids, your voice is pleasent and easy to listen to. you have a great shooting range, looks to be on your property. you have a wealth of weapons that anyone would dream of having. oh by the way you are the best shot i have ever seen i do not envy you i just wish i could shoot one half that well just keep up the good work
I'm going to pick up something for self protection as there have been multiple robberies in my city of 100,000 fueld by the opioid epidemic.
well son,the opiods r everywhere,the meth is everywhere,ive moved to Montana,and its everywhere....its crazy,and so are they when they r high,get armed,and be ready
Hickock45 is the man.
Been there done that. AG are cheap. My cloak 2.0 started unraveling at 3 weeks. Returned it.
Funky Fresh
Hmmm thats odd... Myself and my sister and brother in law have had ours for 2 months now and wear them almost every day and no problems whatsoever...
USMCKoontz Alien Gear Holsters, thank you. I will have to check those out.
USMCKoontz I've had mine for 8 months running strong and still looks new. So many haters out there against AlienGear because they're Crossbreed, Galco, Bladetech fan boys.
There not $35 bucks tho! There more like $80 bucks after shipping and handling
Thank you hickok for ALL the videos and adivice, here in the frozen tundra of GUN FRIENDLY Michigan,,,, we appreciate EVERYTHING you do...
Nice belt, who makes it? You make the best videos!
Diamond D Custom.
Hey! What type of belt are you wearing in this video?
Hickok45 you are the best, funny thing ,you have forgotten more than i'll ever know about firearms.
Newer to CCW and I’m a bigger dude 5’10 230lbs and am very pleased with the Blackhawk stache IWB for mp shield. Thanks Mr Hickok45
ahahahahaaa I didnt even know there was such a thing like "inside the waist band carry" - coolest gadget since the invention of pen guns :))
I don't think you should worry about it Ganja
Alien gear makes good IWB holsters for nearly any hand gun for you gun toatin vegans out there ;p
IWB is the way to go. Open carry IMO is showing off and giving up the element of surprise. I use High Noon holsters myself, I am a fan of the "Split Decision" model. Nice video. Only fools pocket carry.
Spent $150 on a belt and holster.
Same
Bruh, I spent £100 on my gun.
You are from Europe, so we find you weird.
