You only need one tombstone, which i got at the start of my playthrough by dying to a zombie, and then went mining for ten minutes. came back and abigail's flower was there. It's REALLY easy to get with even just a little patience. I don't recommend making a huge graveyard and staying there the entirety of the time. just leave and come back after a while.

I was playing in expert mode and died alot, but then stumbled upon this weird flower which I thought as a new dye material but then I read the description.. So glad I didn't throw it in lava tho cuz its DPS are so low in normal mode
Just like in DS, Abigail offers an easier entry into the game for newer players. Great summon for beginners, and it doesn't stop there. Glad we have a summon like this.
This is arguably the best pre-hm summon as it has better tracking AI with whips than most other minions (I’m looking at you, Imp Staff) and doesn’t interrupt itself with i-frames. As for hardmode, blade staff is still better with durendal for a whip-centric build while sanguine staff has way more dps with the firecracker, both of which also have better tracking than Abigail.
She is actually not that strong in pre hardmode since she's too slow if you use the most pre hardmode gears and can't keep up with a lot of mobs, but i'm intrigued on her hardmode aplications since you need to fight a boss to get a decent flying minion.

@@rabeechowdhury imo whips are less armor dependent in the late game, I usually have the dark harvest and kaleidoscope to maximize summon tag damage. Fire gauntlet's damage and auto-swing are helpful as well, but it's hard to be whip-centric if you want to maintain dps in the endgame
While building a room for my merchant, this speck of red caught my attention. I though it was a coral who bugged out its generation, is pretty happy to know is that its summon weapon.
3:13 As wiki suggest, dont use ice whip on high dmg minions, use firecracker from WoF, it multiplies dmg. Still good vid, i didnt know about that hardmode boost
I'd argue the sanguine staff and other summons with similar fast tracking ai are better, but Abigail's flower is so easy to obtain there's no reason not to use it in your playthrough imo.
Best easily available pre hardmode summon is spider staff (unless im missing something). Saguine you need to kill dreadnautilus (which is fckin hard unless u cheese) and blade staff is post queen slime which can tough on higher difficulty. Definitely worth to get abigail

Super happy abigail is featured, I've been experimenting things with her and I always have to remind myself she is obtainable quite possibly within a few mins. With that being said, absolutely staggering how she scales up in hardmode.
When I first obtained Abigail (after a sun eclipse I died many times), I thought that was weak because I only summoned once, I didn't know that you could recast her many times to make her more powerful! I'll start using her more often :D

@@itsameapizzeria247 you need to be wearing summoner based gear sets for extra minion slots other wise you only get 1 at base, the weapon acts the same as the desert tiger/star dust dragon minions.

Wow! I knew in the back of my mind that this summon gets stronger in hardmode but I didn't realize how much better it gets! Honestly, I would totally pick this weapon out of my chests when I get into hardmode if I'm doing a summoner plathrough
I always found the flower really useful for getting Sanguine Staff, since you can whip the Dreadnautilis and abuse the cheese method with like 6-7 summon stacks when using spider armor

I don’t know if this is a feature in terraria but in DST Abigail does more damage at night than during day I wonder if it works the same in terraria. I think it could be a good experiment
Also while you didn’t mention this but due to Abigail being only 1 minion means she won’t suffer from invincibility frames that enemies get from piercing projectiles like other minions have to deal with in large quantities

Currently on console the area of effect attack is bugged and does no damage so it is completely useless on console, looks like a fun summon though when it works. Edit: The bug has been fixed

there was a recent update for console and it might've been fixed now, idk i haven't tried it since then. i know it said it fixed the spinal tap not doing damage when hitting enemies sometimes though so maybe

This game give me interesting finding along the way. I bought this so I can play with my brother. He die too often so I just took his graves and say "Another one for the collection". Then we have a graveyard, then the graveyard spout Abigail's Flower. That's when I know summoner class exists. The graveyard spawn zombie too often so we build a watch tower to snipe them, it was our first arena where we beat our first boss. That remind me of the good old time playing the first Ghosts 'n Goblins.
My favourite thing about Abigail is how easy she is to control since she will always float behind the player and goes through walls to do this, meaning you can essentially use her as a floating pit bull and unleash her on whatever target you want very quickly

I started playing today, I played for ten hours, in that time I got this summon, got so many stars that I have 200 mana and can't increase it with the stars and I'm still getting them, got enough lenses to summon the eye of cathulu, got a tin broad sword, a stick that turns wood into living wood, the merchant came to live were I live, and I went fishing. So far pretty fun
you used some post plantera gear, which is why it is so strong against the mech bosses. However, without that gear, it still does well. I saw it doing around 70 damage with spider armor, summoner emblem, bewitching table, pygmy necklace, and all my accessories at menacing. It was still more than enough to take out mech bosses, combined with my whip.
As a summoner enjoyer in my opinion this is one of the best pre-hardmode summoner weapons in the game, for the wall of flesh i would rather go with the imp staff tho for all the other bosses abigail is perfectly fine
I find Abigail is great if you're going for a summoner hybrid where you summon her and alternate between a whip and another better crowd control weapon like the minigun for example. It overcomes the issue of only having one minion.
Another nice thing about Abigail is that she has no collision with walls. She doesn't full on see through walls like some summons, but since she floats just behind you by default when she isn't aggroed, it's relatively easy to just press up against a wall and turn around to force her through it, at which point she will then aggro anything she sees. Great for early blood moons or other situations where you are trapped with lots of enemies around. One of the defining moments of my first Master Mode run was being on a sky island when a blood moon started, getting trapped inside the house by a small army of harpies, and then using the above trick to force Abigail outside, at which point she then spent the whole night absolutely shredding them, leaving an enormous pile of loot for me to collect in the morning.
Wow I wasn't aware of the scaling, I didn't get to use her much in my pre hard mode summoner playthrough, (Before the most recent update on console, so she didn't exist) But now I'll get to use her in hardmode :D
I'm currently playing the "Whatever I find that has the most damage" build. I only use Abigail as a low level enemy (demon eyes, zombies, cave bats, etc.) exterminator while I'm building, because she only does 3 damage a second.

This was really well made as a video well edited and informational, with a good subject matter, I feel like you could really thrive off of the 1.4.4 changes if u covered them. Great vid!
The thing about summoner is that whips and summons are best friends, Abigail does really well paired with the firecracker due to the high damage Abigail does. Also Blade staff and summon tag whips also work extremely well together and perhaps need nerfing.
In pre-hardmode I got like 3 of them. If you have a tombstone with grass next to it and block of grass with air above them below the blocks of grass to the side, youll get so many
I'm on a new playthrough and got one of these nearly instantly, this is a proper solution for summoners. The Finch seems a bit snappier early on, but this one seems to have higher dps when it can do it's thing and sustain dmg
this probably has insane synergy with firecracker, if you pair it up with melee speed buffs, you could repeatedly trigger high damage explosions that deal 2.75 times as much damage as the minion itself
Did some tests although not accurate and not the best, I was able to allow abigail to reach about 230ish base damage and around 600+ for each hit with fire cracker. Compared to summons within its stage, it is very impressive how abigail holds up so good in hardmode. Pre hardmore its a bit tricky because it cant shine very well due to the lack of summons possible, but once you hit hardmode, a little time invested on summon potions, betwetching table and correct equipment, abigail is quite frankly a good summon
i really like that they made abigail this powered, pretty deserved since she's the main part of the survivor she belongs to. however her main point is usually crow control
I just got Abigail's flower it just blooms in the random grass and i never seen a flower like that before and when i destroyed it I freaked out when it literally said Abigail's flower without even grinding for it that means i guess im lucky enough to spot this off guard and she's becomes my favorite pet even if im a ranger class in terraria she makes my whole game easier in pre hardmode she's still my favorite summon in terraria
Making an attempt to get her now. She sounds straight up my alley. I use to play a lot like three years ago. Never really played summoner. Played mostly ranger, and I have a weird thing for yoyos. Hive five is the love of my life lol. Started a new world when I saw labor of love had come out. Found a ruthless finch staff, then got a whip, and now I'm in love with summoner lol. I stumbled upon this, and now I'm suiciding over and over. I hate myself for forgetting just how much I love terraria.
I died to a slime in my expert mode playthrough, then the flower appeared and I thought it was a new dye flower, then I saw it properly and I couldn't love it more
I use it a bit. In one of my first serious games I said that the first non-craftable weapon or armor I came across would be my class. I was really not expecting to get summoner, so imagine my surprise when I mine a weird flower and get a new summon.
For anyone who sees this, I just recommend anywhere you die just have a little bit of area under the surface with grass (like if you just cover parts of the ground you blew up) bc it spawned a few times there for me without even realizing why
This is more ironic when I literally spawned right on top of one in a new Ranger World. I then managed to get a Slime Staff about 4 days later and a Bat Bat even later on, which makes me question why I got every rare occurrence of an OP item except for a gun or bow
I thought Abigail was terrible in expert. I got a demonic Abigail flower and it was barely able to kill a demon eye. Abigail also struggled to keep up with enemies due to having to stop every time she attacks. To be fair I wasn’t wearing any minion buffing gear, but still I’m disappointed that a slime staff was able to outperform the flower. Maybe Abigail is different on mobile than others I don’t know.
during my last playthrough, i wasn't playing summoner exactly, but i always kept Abigail's flower and a wasp staff in my inventory to the end, and although i like to use guns more, i also keep a whip on me so i can have them focusing a specific enemies for me while i keep on the boss, or i have them focus on the boss while i destroy the minions when they are too numerous(i have to play like this since i play on mobile with a gamepad)
I left the abigails flower there for a long time and was suprised to find out it gave me a ghost, im even more suprised to know that it is good in prehardmode and now i feel bad for not using it
I did an Expert playthrough using Abigail all the way up to and including the Mechs but I replaced her shortly after that once I got the Sanguine Bats. She's a great solid summon.
The first time I got this I just wondered upon it. I sometimes leave tombstones when I die just for fun. Its always great when you walk past a tombstone and you see you had died there like 3 months ago hahah
I found the flower next to the very first tombstone I dropped in a classic world that I made just to farm heart crystals. I didn't even think much of it, I guess the odds were pretty small.

Obsidian armor plus firecracker and fast attacking summons are so overpowered
If RNG wants you to get it, otherwise you just have to skip it for cool whip.

True RNG of Firecracker kind of what ruins the Firecracker as refighting Wall of Flesh again early in hardmode isnt exactly the most fun thing

When i started my expert mode summoner run, abigail was my first summon. Yeah she was basically nonexistent most of the time. I had to use a whip

NPCs in a single player world with a hardcore character do drop tombstones so technically speaking it is hardcore friendly

She also deals night damage when in the caves, so that's another thing to check.

Wow, can’t wait to do a summoners play through with Abigail’s flower after hearing and seeing it’s power. Don’t have to make a slime farm just to progress now!

I found it at a grave that was super old (like a year) when I was in hardmode, I never used it at all though, I'm a melee player forever
Haven't used it yet, mainly because i don't play summoner. But man this weapon is insane it makes me want to do a summoner playthrough

The thing about summoner is that whips and summons are best friends, Abigail does really well paired with the firecracker due to the high damage Abigail does. Also Blade staff and summon tag whips also work extremely well together and perhaps need nerfing.

In pre-hardmode I got like 3 of them. If you have a tombstone with grass next to it and block of grass with air above them below the blocks of grass to the side, youll get so many
i get many of them because the goblin shithead hasnt arrived
I Did a Abigail's flower only run, and it performed beautifully. using summoner potions and the bewitching table is a must.
I'm on a new playthrough and got one of these nearly instantly, this is a proper solution for summoners. The Finch seems a bit snappier early on, but this one seems to have higher dps when it can do it's thing and sustain dmg
this probably has insane synergy with firecracker, if you pair it up with melee speed buffs, you could repeatedly trigger high damage explosions that deal 2.75 times as much damage as the minion itself
Did some tests although not accurate and not the best, I was able to allow abigail to reach about 230ish base damage and around 600+ for each hit with fire cracker. Compared to summons within its stage, it is very impressive how abigail holds up so good in hardmode. Pre hardmore its a bit tricky because it cant shine very well due to the lack of summons possible, but once you hit hardmode, a little time invested on summon potions, betwetching table and correct equipment, abigail is quite frankly a good summon

i really like that they made abigail this powered, pretty deserved since she's the main part of the survivor she belongs to. however her main point is usually crow control
I love Abigail's flower , it carried me through all prehardmode bosses n raids
Plantera shredder; absolutely melts the little biters she spawns in phase 2
I just got Abigail's flower it just blooms in the random grass and i never seen a flower like that before and when i destroyed it I freaked out when it literally said Abigail's flower without even grinding for it that means i guess im lucky enough to spot this off guard and she's becomes my favorite pet even if im a ranger class in terraria she makes my whole game easier in pre hardmode she's still my favorite summon in terraria

Making an attempt to get her now. She sounds straight up my alley. I use to play a lot like three years ago. Never really played summoner. Played mostly ranger, and I have a weird thing for yoyos. Hive five is the love of my life lol. Started a new world when I saw labor of love had come out. Found a ruthless finch staff, then got a whip, and now I'm in love with summoner lol. I stumbled upon this, and now I'm suiciding over and over. I hate myself for forgetting just how much I love terraria.
I died to a slime in my expert mode playthrough, then the flower appeared and I thought it was a new dye flower, then I saw it properly and I couldn't love it more
I use it a bit. In one of my first serious games I said that the first non-craftable weapon or armor I came across would be my class. I was really not expecting to get summoner, so imagine my surprise when I mine a weird flower and get a new summon.
Abigail's flower became favourite summon class item soon as it was released
For anyone who sees this, I just recommend anywhere you die just have a little bit of area under the surface with grass (like if you just cover parts of the ground you blew up) bc it spawned a few times there for me without even realizing why
As a don't starve player I really like this crossover
pretty much a perfect summon for use with the firecracker in early hard mode. that combo is pretty dangerous right off the start of hard mode

I found Abagil’s Flower randomly while looking for blueberries for blue dye
This is more ironic when I literally spawned right on top of one in a new Ranger World. I then managed to get a Slime Staff about 4 days later and a Bat Bat even later on, which makes me question why I got every rare occurrence of an OP item except for a gun or bow
I got this in the first 30 minutes. I liked it but I didn't know it was that good. I will remember this for later
I thought Abigail was terrible in expert. I got a demonic Abigail flower and it was barely able to kill a demon eye. Abigail also struggled to keep up with enemies due to having to stop every time she attacks. To be fair I wasn’t wearing any minion buffing gear, but still I’m disappointed that a slime staff was able to outperform the flower. Maybe Abigail is different on mobile than others I don’t know.
you didnt use any summoner gear. With more summons, it becomes this fast, powerful shredder which works insanely well with the firecracker.
I slept on this so hard and maybe I shouldn’t have. I already got the Tempest Staff, so maybe I’ll see how she fares post-Plantera.
during my last playthrough, i wasn't playing summoner exactly, but i always kept Abigail's flower and a wasp staff in my inventory to the end, and although i like to use guns more, i also keep a whip on me so i can have them focusing a specific enemies for me while i keep on the boss, or i have them focus on the boss while i destroy the minions when they are too numerous(i have to play like this since i play on mobile with a gamepad)

I left the abigails flower there for a long time and was suprised to find out it gave me a ghost, im even more suprised to know that it is good in prehardmode and now i feel bad for not using it
In my Master mode multiplayer world, there where ALOT of them all over the world where we even hadn't explored too

I did an Expert playthrough using Abigail all the way up to and including the Mechs but I replaced her shortly after that once I got the Sanguine Bats. She's a great solid summon.

The first time I got this I just wondered upon it. I sometimes leave tombstones when I die just for fun. Its always great when you walk past a tombstone and you see you had died there like 3 months ago hahah

I like the idea of a weapon which gets a random upgrade later in the games progression

I just started a master world in the drunk seed, and the Abigail's Flower absolutely carried me through my first blood moon
I just die millions of times until it's over
i will definitely use her in my next run, she looks awesome
That mech fight wasnt exactly fair as you were using post-plantera accessories for it
I found the flower next to the very first tombstone I dropped in a classic world that I made just to farm heart crystals. I didn't even think much of it, I guess the odds were pretty small.
