my chronically online friend helped me get through my first full playthrough of terraria, and taught me basically everything he knew about the game. I was drawn to the mage class so he helped me with managing armor and figuring out what weapons i should look for while he took on the summoner class. he said if i ever wanted to learn how to work with different classes then he would help me out with other playthroughs since i'm still pretty bad at the game. the best part about all this is that he taught me in a linear kind of way, keeping everything just a little bit in the dark and letting me explore the game while he guided me in the general direction (like building a long platform bridge and carrying around a voodoo doll, then handing it to me and telling me to throw it into the lava without telling me exactly what was going to happen, but also giving me enough backup to take down the wall of flesh myself) we all need a chronically online friend in our lives (he also helped me 100% a few other games too lol, even the singleplayer ones and sat with me in a voicecall while trying to get certain rng achievements)
I’m currently doing a dark summoner/Druid theme. So most everything I use is nature or animal based. But also I’m using evil/ morally monstrous mixed in. So I have the moon charm so I tune into a werewolf at night. I’m using the spinal tap. And I’m wearing the bee armor and using the bee hornet staff and finch staff. Currently working on getting the imp staff. I’m also crafting the timeless traveler cosmetic armor. Because it looks badass and fits the vibe. So yeah my melee weapons are dark themed and I have animals galore. Oh and of course I have the bee gun on at all times. Just for shits and giggles and because there’s an achievement called not the bees which I found hilarious enough to keep it on. Oh also when I’m not using the spinal tap I’m using the dark lance and that darkness sword that you upgrade from the murasama or whatever that katana looking sword is.
In the bow subclass, you can also get eventide from the empress of light, and the Aerial bane from Betsy in the tier 3 Old one's army. And in the flail only run, you can get the Dao of pow by grinding for 1 dark and light shard, and some other stuff (I forgot what).
Demon or tendon bow are not only obtainable before you even beat a boss, they're relatively easy to get thanks to demonite or crimtane being a hell of a lot more common than they were in 1.3. As a result, I'm not sure why you recommended people use gold or platinum bow instead of them.
"To craft the powerful hellwing bow" -Shows the molten fury ..This video is starting to feel like it's made by someone who doesn't even play the game that often, I'll be honest.

I feel like there should mixed classes. For instance the old throwing class being a mix of melee and ranged. Then you have whips which are summoner and melee, potentially have melee based summons that don’t attack but instead give you buffs.
For spears if you find the spear it’s a way to do damage and you might be able to find a trident if you want. For the senteries getting the Frost Hydra isn’t a bad sentry either
I don't think I ever appreciated the amount o options Terraria gives you at any moment until I watched this. I never realised just how consistent boomerangs and spellbooks alone were throughout the progression.
Bows were such a fun subclass. Out of the subclasses I've played, it was the most balanced progression-wise by far. And there is just a lot of really fun bows to use in the game: tsunami, hellwing (mainly for wof), bee's knees, phantasm, chlorophyte shotbow. @@151reese you can still get waterbolt pre-boss if you had very lucky worldgen and can drop down fast enough
@@einra its still possible, its just not technically on the surface anymore, you have to actually enter the dungeon and hope theres an immediate water bolt before the dungeon guardian kills you

No way this goober just called my boy the molten fury the hellwing bow
So I've never beaten the game singleplayer before (I've beaten Moon Lord ~10 times with friends before) and yesterday I started what WILL be my first complete singleplayer world, where I plan to go multiclass with an emphasis on yoyos and ranger. This video gave me a ton of ideas for different playstyles to use! I will DEFINITELY be coming back to this vid for future playthroughs.
so how'd it go chief
@@fortnitesexman life happened and I wasn't able to finish that world. Recently I started a calamity playthrough, and that's going pretty well. I'm making steady progress whenever I can.
Bro this video is a banger entertaining and very informative I never plan on using these subclasses but I stayed to watch anyway amazing work!
You should try this kind of stuff with Calamity cause it adds a lot of items in subclasses that vanilla doesn't have
I’m not entirely sure what class I lean towards. Pre hard mode I always go for Nights Edge, Sunfury, Demon Scythe, Minishark and Imp Staff, and usually Molten Armor. Then into hard mode I try to get the True Nights Edge and Excalibur, I try to get the Megashark and I try to get the Optic Staff. Then after Plantera I go for the Terra Blade.
I love the fact that waffle time did playthroughs with not only 1 "bad" subclasses (yoyos and spears) I can only imagine the degradation he would go through if he dared to try sentries only
I don’t think sentries only would be so bad if you kept your mana high to relocate them
@@Luxlude444you'd be playing diet, zero calorie mage. You have a very limited selection of armor and weapons, and they're all locked behind the OoA event, which can be hard even when you're allowed to use other weapons. The beginning of the game would be hell on earth
if you say "not only A" you need to follow it up with something like "but also B"

7:50 i watched alot of Johnny Test as a kid, im finna be op
Why did this man consistently keep forgetting that there are other pre-hardmode bosses than eye of Cthulhu, brain/eater, and wall of flesh?
because those are the only mandatory ones
@@DylanGray-rp4nt No, with the exception of WoF, none of those are mandatory. As a matter of fact, the only boss in pre-hardmode other than WoF that's mandatory is Skeletron, and even then, that can be put off until after golem at the absolute most.
Little sidenote for the bows
The bow you craft from Hellstone is not the Hellwing Bow, but the Molten Fury.
The Hellwing Bow is a post-Skeletron bow that can be obtained from Shadow Chests.
I would recommend using the Hellwing Bow for WoF if you can't do it with the Molten Fury.
Hellwing is better than the molten fury, so even more reason to use it
Almost all of my playthroughs (solo or otherwise) ive played with yoyos. Or as i like to call it, "LMB and Point"
Yoyo best weapon.
Seeing the dragon armor respite filled me with hope for its return
it's honestly really strange how the hardmode ore armors are so pointless outside of adamantite/titanium
getting to the next tier is always such a quick process that there's never any point in making them outside of journeymode research
although i'm not really sure where the dragon armor could fit in at this point
@@fortnitesexman I mean most have useful buffs if you mix and match armor

i use everything.magic with guns and summons... am starting to use them melees more now. always have a staff/gun/melee in my inventory and keeping the summon's summoners at home(and what ever dies mire damage becomes my primary)
there are some more subclasses you can opt into at later satges or opt out of when entering hardmode:
rocket launchers
- bees
- explosives
- nothing (armor and a accesory that deal damage for you)
- staffs/rods
- true melee
traps
my chronically online friend helped me get through my first full playthrough of terraria, and taught me basically everything he knew about the game. I was drawn to the mage class so he helped me with managing armor and figuring out what weapons i should look for while he took on the summoner class. he said if i ever wanted to learn how to work with different classes then he would help me out with other playthroughs since i'm still pretty bad at the game. the best part about all this is that he taught me in a linear kind of way, keeping everything just a little bit in the dark and letting me explore the game while he guided me in the general direction (like building a long platform bridge and carrying around a voodoo doll, then handing it to me and telling me to throw it into the lava without telling me exactly what was going to happen, but also giving me enough backup to take down the wall of flesh myself)
we all need a chronically online friend in our lives
(he also helped me 100% a few other games too lol, even the singleplayer ones and sat with me in a voicecall while trying to get certain rng achievements)
sentries is unironically so good cuz it's meant to be mixed up with the main classes, it's just pure additionnal damage that works with everything
Ah yes the all powerful hellwing bow can be crafted with hell stone
I love how he doesnt only showcase this class he also tells a story
the hardest part about the sentry subclass is having to do the old ones army

You just gave me some strong memories about Yrimir
In the bow subclass, you can also get eventide from the empress of light, and the Aerial bane from Betsy in the tier 3 Old one's army. And in the flail only run, you can get the Dao of pow by grinding for 1 dark and light shard, and some other stuff (I forgot what).
The boomerang was literally me before hardmode
Demon or tendon bow are not only obtainable before you even beat a boss, they're relatively easy to get thanks to demonite or crimtane being a hell of a lot more common than they were in 1.3. As a result, I'm not sure why you recommended people use gold or platinum bow instead of them.
Brooooo disrespected the thrower class in the most crazy way

About the spell book only subclass, I always check the books at the entrance of the dungeon very early in the game for it is possible to get the water bolt spell without triggering uber-skeletron.
pretty sure they fixed that, outside of complete shenaniganary like clipping into the dungeon from the side and speed picking it up
I’m curious, did you see my sentries only video before you made this? Because what you described is the exact progression I followed
Thought that too lol
Yeah I did, was a huge help I didn’t think it would even be possible when first looking at it. I’ll add a link to ur video in the description
@@Yerdsteili appreciate you linking my video, but I gotta say it’s a bit shitty that you didn’t credit me in the first place. A lot of time went into that video and to have a larger channel take it without credit is pretty disappointing. In future if you’re gonna take someone else’s work like that you should really credit them, preferably in the video itself
@@ChiefLogan_ Hey bro I just watched your whole video and I got to admit I did mess up pretty bad there. I'm guessing the playthrough took around a month at least which doesn't include editing. I used your video as a source and it's a moral standard to give credit but I broke that and messed up. I put some info cards and end screen things to try and send people to your video but that's definitely not enough. I'm very open to giving a shoutout in my next video, and I'm really sorry. I am disappointed too.

Hell, even most of the basic repeaters and early bows like demon or plat bows are fun. At its core, I just find bows to be very fun to use in terraria.
