But let’s pair this with the Shield of Cthulhu - an accessory obtained as early as the first or second boss which has utility up until Plantera’s defeat… Or perhaps further. You see, if you dash into Fishron at the right time, you can bonk him. When you bonk, you get a few s, and if you time it right you can let Fishron consistently pass right through you without dealing any damage (while dealing slightly extra of your own.) You can easily take out Phase 3 this way while barely needing to move at all! You’ll just need to get the timing down. As for Phases 1 and 2, run. And good luck! ^^

it feels like a nice little reward for people doing other playthroughs on terraria. like "oh you're playing again? well here's one way you can speed up the game..." it's sweet to think about :)
Looks like I'm off to defeat Duke Fisheron now that I've just made it to hard mode in my Thorium mod playthrough and I have the champion wings. I also have the Eye of the Storm meaning I can deal extra damage while in battle with bouncing energy that homes in on enemies. The best part is it's an accessory. Using the bloody wand would make the fight far easier because it gives the bloody debuff which increases the damage further blood bolts deal by 15% per bolt, up to a maximum of 75%, and it fires 5 in each volley. It's an OP weapon that shreds enemies like a mid-late hard mode weapon but can be obtained in pre-hard mode.
When I first saw Fishron and what he drops, I immediately thought of ways of how to beat, my first attempts were beating him fair and square and I did got him on my 10th attempt and then I cheesed Fishron with teleporters. I usually try to defeat him after Mechanical bosses so I can have chlorophyte for armor and bullets
Fishron being one of the hardest to beat, and the loot being random at times, and the bait being a pain in my f*****g ass. Finding your wanted loot is like very, very low depending on your situation (skills, build, and weapons). Heck, like getting the Razorblade took me 5 times to beat Duke since the bait is so hard to get.
Fishron is a really fun progression breaking boss. Every drop is fantastic and even the worst general use weapon, the bubble gun, makes up for it's lack of reliability with pillar level DPS
A few times what I’ll do is when I’m bored during the early hardmode, I will fight the Duke until I win and whatever weapon he drops will be the class I choose for the rest of the game, regardless of if I decide to use a different weapon later. That’s the class I will use
All of my playthroughs of late have been mastermode for the worthy. An early fishron kill never works out for me in these runs. I don't have any trouble with the mech bosses, but fishron to me is up there with the plantera fight, maybe a little harder.
I was playing terraria master mode for the worthy with my friend and we managed out of pure raw dedication to beat the system and kill dukey or as we know him "the nonce fish" straight after the wall of flesh, not even defeating the queen slime but we had to keep selling the loot bc none of us were mage or summoner. This allowed us to fast track to gollum and empress of light ( which we are ready to fight but as im more of an og gamer I dont have much experience with her so this will be fun). But try it next time you do a playthrough.
@@fyreisboss767 yeah we were grinding for everything we needed including wings. But tbh I think gollum is just super easy and plantera to me is quite easy to. I find duky to be really hard, what do you think about empress of light?
@@Salmonell.a In my last playthrough i was playing summoner and i was honestly surprised at just how easy it was to beat empress of light day mode, normal night mode was so hard since the fight took like 10 mins with the blade staff. Day mode was super ez with kaleidoscope cuz it only lasted 2-3 mins
If you know what you're doing and make sure to consistently destroy ground mushrooms, Truffle worms are REALLY easy to get, especially with the new large biomes. That's probably why you got so many honestly, the biomes are really big and the worms didn't really have their spawnrates reduced when the biomes got bigger. They were honestly really easy for me to get them when I played on 1.3 on console a while ago, since I enlarged a mush biome.
I’m gonna start fighting the duke earlier in progression from now on because I beat him post mech and it’s so nice to have his gear before getting to plantera. I decided to do it post mech in my current run instead of pre mech because I wanted to use the dart pistol for the mechs since that’s a weapon I also like. But with that being said, his drops are also very fun to use and next run I’ll try to do what I previously failed at many times.
I remember the first time i tried to kill Fishron on Pre-machanics, that was when i've notice how hard it is, and, it's not only hard because of the damage you can recive in Classic/Expert/Master mode in that moment, it's also because the time that it takes to kill him (even if you are playing mage), it takes Sometimes 4-6 min, even more than 8 min, just don't forget the mechanics of this *Big Fish* and all will be all right.
Quick tip if it’s ur first time defeating the duke only do it with pre mech stuff it makes it easier because you don’t have other stuff to compare it with
If you struggle, use crystal assassin armor for its dash for extra accessory slot in master for dps and use the dart rifle/pistol and ichor darts which will split or ignore immunity frames before it splits practice in journey mode and the boss becomes easy and very cheap to do
Fishron is one of my favorite bosses to fight cause he drops good weapons for a hard fight early that is easily achieved with the right setup and when you learn his attack patterns. I enjoy using the crystal serpent against him cause since he is large and moving fast he gets hit with all the spark so each shot is around 250-500 for such a early weapon
Duke Fishron, while available as soon as Hardmode starts, is definitely a post-plantera if not post-golem boss, difficulty-wise. That's when I always fight him.
So I wanna say, I don't normally fight it pre Mechs, but I like to use the storm bow to take out destroyer, to be able to make the mega shark. Then usually I rock Frost armor
The tsunami is one of my favorite weapons, pre 1.4 it was my go to weapon for the cultist and pillars, but I personally like the eventide more for its accuracy and piercing
I remember I was looking for a worm and go three in a line, like they were touching and I thought the worms were just that big since I hadn’t fought him before
I don't usually beat duke fishron pre mechs since I suck but usually what I do is that I beat 1 mech boss and use that loot to beat him making the other bosses a breeze (I also try to stay away from the cheese since I think that the boss is fun)
I got this weapon as soon as hardmode started on my Zenith seed playthrough, basically because duke fishron is easier than mechdusa and it carries you until pre-lunar events
I remember trying to kill the duke before the mech bosses it took me a lot of tries but when i did boy oh boy i pretty much blazed through all hard more and made me change class from ranger to mage since the bubble blower has some insane dps at close range
I honestly never thought of fighting Duke Fishron pre mech bosses. But It makes sense if I would obtain a tsunami it would definitely shred through enemies.
HUGE DPS TIP, all dps matters for this unfair fight. I HIGHLY recommend picking up a summon that can stick to high flying fast targets, such as the Queen slime's summon drop The Blade of Staffs, The Sanguine Staff from a bloodmoon or even just the Imp staff from pre-hardmode even if your a NON-SUMMONER class loadout with only 3 summons (base 1+ bewitching Table from pre-harmode dungeon + Summoning Potion).
Tips for phase 3 i think: Dodge to same direction duke want to attack you (need to time it perfectly) Or just go upward using slime/queen slime mount. If you didn't have it, just use amfiby boots/frog leg + whatever wing.
I defeated duke pre-planterra in my mastermode world because I wanted to prove to myself that I could, and also I wanted that juicy typhoon. Yeah that was after its nerf, but I liked the idea of having a more powerful homing weapon than the united shield, and since I wanted to have the most fun and have a mixed build (it was my first time playing past WoF, wanted to have fun with the stormbow, the piss book, chlorophite bullets which helped for EoL daytime and moonlord, and of course always holding a summon), it made sense to grab one for extra dps on planterra. And yes, I switched out my build when I wanted to focus on a particular class for whatever boss or event I was doing.

it feels like a nice little reward for people doing other playthroughs on terraria. like "oh you're playing again? well here's one way you can speed up the game..."
it's sweet to think about :)
Personally, I fought this post mecha - (before plantera) Tsunami is so freakin good lol
It's an OP weapon that shreds enemies like a mid-late hard mode weapon but can be obtained in pre-hard mode.
same with the razorblade typhoon, it shreds all the mech bosses and even plantera and golem.
Nice video, I have a question though. What mod do you use for the shading and bloom effects in your videos?
Lights and shadows, is a mod on tmod loader 1.4 :)
Tsunami has always been my favorite bow, and always prefered it over the Phantasm, so I'd say yea it is the best
You fighting empress of light with the tsunami and holy arrows:I AM THE EMPRESS OF LIGHT NOW
Truffle worms spawning right at the start of hard mode breaks progression for every class that can beat duke so soon.
i love how the editor plays on sock's accent and how they say "buh" instead of "bow" lol
There are pre mech weapons that deal much more damage than chlorophyte bullet+tactical shotgun
Like ichor darts+dart rifle
Fishron being one of the hardest to beat, and the loot being random at times, and the bait being a pain in my f*****g ass. Finding your wanted loot is like very, very low depending on your situation (skills, build, and weapons). Heck, like getting the Razorblade took me 5 times to beat Duke since the bait is so hard to get.
He just dashes in a straight line on your direction that's it, and the 3rd phase all you have to do is jump high, fall, repeat.
I enjoy doing mechs the normal way, I enjoy spending lots of time in a playthrough because it becomes very memorable.
Imo fishron is def easier than plantera, hes just a LOT more annoying if you wanna grind the wings
@@fyreisboss767 that’s because your using post empress weapons and knowledge to fight the boss 💀
Shadowflame bow is also a nice pick, you can also get it pre mech I believe, and it does pretty good damage, and provides light
This dude basically just said "Now, how do you defeat Fishron early? Well, you get good."
Using the nimbus rod against duke is very helpful as if you space them out the bubbles he shoots out cant cross from one side to the other
Hey friend! What visual mods are you using? Your game looks beautiful and I would love to try them out.
It’s the lights and shadows mod on tmod loader 1.4 :)
@@sockrteez Thank you very much!
Damn do I love this buh. It's gotten me through the pillars and almost got me through the moon lord. LOVE this buh!
Quick tip if it’s ur first time defeating the duke only do it with pre mech stuff it makes it easier because you don’t have other stuff to compare it with
If you struggle, use crystal assassin armor for its dash for extra accessory slot in master for dps and use the dart rifle/pistol and ichor darts which will split or ignore immunity frames before it splits practice in journey mode and the boss becomes easy and very cheap to do
You can also cheese it for a top tier weapon that will carry you all the way to pillar weapons
Banger as always
Duke Fishron, while available as soon as Hardmode starts, is definitely a post-plantera if not post-golem boss, difficulty-wise. That's when I always fight him.
But with enough practice, he will be pretty easy.
So I wanna say, I don't normally fight it pre Mechs, but I like to use the storm bow to take out destroyer, to be able to make the mega shark. Then usually I rock Frost armor
Bruh dart rifle with ichor darts does 2x more damage than megashark, and it's pre mech.
@@clashoclan3371 didn't ask, this was what I do, not what I should do
Truffle wormed to be hard to get, back when glowing mushroom biome used to be tiny.
The tsunami is one of my favorite weapons, pre 1.4 it was my go to weapon for the cultist and pillars, but I personally like the eventide more for its accuracy and piercing
What a great buh. A truly remarkable buh.
Agreed, Daedalus Storm Buh is nice, but The Tsunami Melts Buhsses Like Buhtter!
@@JMR-n7x I’d have to agree with you, this game has got some excellent buhs.
Great video. One question. At the end what was that wall of arrows. A mod or just a broken loadout?
That's a mod. Probably the one that allows you to edit item properties like use time.
Yes, recently completed a permadeath expert run and killing the Duke right after a mech boss was the absolute most pivotal moment in the entire run!
Ya know what breaks profession? Beating duke fishron in pre mech and getting the razorblade typhoon
when i make truffle worm farms, it actually seems less efficient than just having a natural biome that's a decent size
getting it post mech boss and pre plantera is just glorious
I remember I was looking for a worm and go three in a line, like they were touching and I thought the worms were just that big since I hadn’t fought him before
I don't usually beat duke fishron pre mechs since I suck but usually what I do is that I beat 1 mech boss and use that loot to beat him making the other bosses a breeze (I also try to stay away from the cheese since I think that the boss is fun)
pick one shotgun, bow or repeater?
Tsunami: *yes*
Not to mention the cute and helpful mount you get from defeating him on expert mode or higher!
I got this weapon as soon as hardmode started on my Zenith seed playthrough, basically because duke fishron is easier than mechdusa and it carries you until pre-lunar events
This item is the reason why I fight Duke fishron so early, you don't know how much this item is so important to me.
Tips for phase 3 i think:
Dodge to same direction duke want to attack you (need to time it perfectly)
Or just go upward using slime/queen slime mount.
