Every match between Undertaker and Bret was memorable. Royal Rumble '96, Summerslam '97, One Night Only in September '97, their little August 2010 Raw stand-off (even though it was a no-decision with no bumps, just the entrances and stare-down were phenomenal).

Definitely one I look back on fondly because it was my first Royal Rumble as a full time fan. It was interesting for me to see random people show up in the Rumble match as it expanded my wrestling knowledge. I have to admit I completely forgot about Ahmed Johnson Vs Jeff Jarrett on this card.

The second half of 96, from a booking standpoint, was much better. During that time they were starting to move into a more edgier program and eventually “the attitude era”. The New Generation did have many great matches however, which do get overlooked.
This Rumble match is so fascinating. The Kliq was still rolling, you have yokozuna and Vader in there. Steve Austin's first ppv as the Ringmaster, glenn Jacobs in as Dr. Yankem, Jerry Lawler hiding under the ring, and not to mention them somehow thinking duke the dumpster needed the 30 spot which got no reaction lol
Love this video. Fresno is my hometown, I went to this event. I was 15 and I had a blast. Brings back good memories. Only other event I ever attended was the smackdown several years later in Bakersfield,California when stone cold and booker t destroyed a grocery store.
Summerslam 92 would be good mainly for the "What if?" when it comes to it's original card. Survivor Series 92 would be fun for the constant changes during it's build

I’m listening to this while at work and occasionally I glance down and see the graphics when a new superstar enters the ring. I just now noticed that Owen Hart will kick your leg out of your leg which is what clued me in to the fact that these captions were not part of the original broadcast. Thanks WB for keeping me on my toes.
Looking back at these PPV's reminds me how some characters were super relevant to the new generation era..and by 98 non-existant. Sunny and Ahmed Johnson were weekly fixtures in RTW.
Bit of something about the Ramon vs. Goldust match that got edited out of the network version was the fans chanting a certain slur at Goldust somewhere in the match. Wasn't the best showing of the fanbase at the time. Also, on paper this card seemed to be better than the IYH PPV before it, and though it wasn't too great from a match quality standpoint, it did set up a lot of future storylines. The Shawn journey obviously, but the next night on Raw had the famous beatdown on Gorilla from Vader, Goldust's run as the IC champ and his Bizzare gimmick that was only supposed to be until Rumble but was received so well they just stuck with it, the Undertaker vs. Diesel feud really got started here and it leads to one of my favorite moments at the following IYH show (along with the 123 Kid and Razor setting up what would be a very....odd gimmick match). I think the PPV succeeded in setting things up for the storylines they would end up going with, even if they struggled with the match quality.
God I remember how predictable the whole product was at this time. It was ridiculously obvious Shawn was getting a mega push with the "Boyhood Dream" shtick

Rare Austin vs Nash match up
The more vintage Goldust I watch, the more convinced I am that his character was just a manifestation of Vince McMahon’s fantasies.
Takers first title shot in 6years wow after losing it in 91 but this was a great match I loved both Bret Hart and Undertaker
