- Today I'm bringing you a easy vegan parmesan and a quick oil-free pesto, both of which are delicious, inexpensive, simple, healthy, and whole foods plant based. Blog posts with printable recipe cards below. Enjoy!

Cheeseless Vegan Parmesan:
1 cup raw cashews; sub with walnuts or hemp seeds
1 tbsp oat flour
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp garlic powder
salt & pepper to taste
Easy Oil-Free Pesto:
2 cups basil leaves packed, sub spinach or other green
1/8 tsp salt
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp lemon juice
4-6 tbsp water
2 tbsp vegan parmesan cheese substitute (i.e. my Cheeseless Vegan Parm)

I can’t have yeast of any kind, what’s a good substitute?
Oh boy that is a toughie! I've never tried substituting nutritional yeast with anything else - it has such a unique flavor. I'm sorry!
Hmmm, how can it taste like parmesan with so little nooch? I can't eat cashews, so if that's the key, oh well.
I explain how to do it with hemp seeds as an alternative to cashews! And you can always add more nutritional yeast to your own taste 😉
@@PlantsNotPlastic Hemp is also something I avoid. I have issues with it on my skin. There's another nut that I think is perfect for it though.
@@lightdark00 Brazil nuts. If you are allergic to this as well, skip this recipe.
@@dkatz7430 Brazil nuts are fine, but they are the last thing I think of when I want to have a cheesy taste.
