Thank you Lauren I enjoyed hearing all about the different ways your life has changed and hope that all your efforts regarding building up your business and also completing your education pay off.
I moved from one coast of the US to another (Boston to Seattle) when I was younger. I didn't have a job and knew one person. Best decision I've ever made. Much easier way of life, nature is amazing and I meet my lifelong partner. I visited the south coast of Iceland (I really liked Selfoss a lot) and fell in love with the country and am already planning my return. I am trying to self teach myself Icelandic. My goal at this point is to spend a year in Iceland so I can learn more about Icelandic culture and the language. I'm not sure when it will happen but thinking about it is half the fun. I just recently subscribed and I really feel like you are having a conversation with us. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Thank you so much Dean, this comment made my day ❤️ I'm glad your brave decision worked out for you, and I hope you get the chance to spend a year in Iceland one day! Thanks for watching 😊
You're very inspiring Lauren thankyou :) you made the right call Lauren as UK getting slowly privatised/bought out by America for example your curly wurly Cadbury is owned now by American company. Trust me you made the right call. :)
Aww that's so sweet, thank you so much Victoria ❤️ Yes I remember well when Cadbury was bought out and it was awful news locally 😞 Being from the same city as Cadburys I used to visit Cadbury World a lot as a child, I went there again just over a year ago and it's so different now It's absolutely awful what is happening over there
Thanks Cori ☺️ I feel that I'm at a good conversational level now but not yet completely fluent. I feel comfortable conversing with most Icelanders, but I don't like switching to Icelandic with the people that i got to know in English (I just find it uncomfortable to suddenly change what language we use). I will do appointments at the bank, magistrates office, and sometimes at the hospital in Icelandic and will understand and be understood with no issues
No problem at all! I am doing a distance learning diploma in silver jewellery with Jeweller's Academy in the UK. I'm already a qualified jeweller but after taking a career break for a few years I want to refresh my skills, this course also focusing on running your own business rather than working for someone else. I started my own jewellery business 2 years ago so my goal is to build that up and be able to do that full time ☺️
@mudirmindset Hi, I'm sorry but I have no experience with working as a nurse in Iceland. I believe you'd need to get your qualifications approved to work as a nurse here, and I think speaking Icelandic is a requirement (I think there might actually be an Icelandic course specifically for nurses)

Thank you Susan, glad you enjoyed the video ☺️

Hi Loppy, congratulations! 6 years is a long time. How would you describe your level of Icelandic? Do you feel comfortable conversing with Icelanders?
Thanks Cori ☺️ I feel that I'm at a good conversational level now but not yet completely fluent. @@LoppyLoves I'm so impressed that you can speak Icelandic like that!
Thank you 🙂 I still have a long way to go until I'm fluent though! I'm terrible with the grammar 😂
I hope you don't mind all the questions. What are you doing for school? What are your goals for that?

@@LoppyLoves that sounds great and of course perfectly suits your goals! Good luck and much success with that!
Thanks Cori ☺️
I feel like upping sticks, moving to Iceland and trying to get any job.
Go for it! It's the best thing I ever did
@@LoppyLoves Thank you, Loppy, for your encouragement!
