So helpful. I am finishing Icelandic 4 and I am super nervous in anticipation of my exam. Listening to you made me more at ease, because I could imagine going through the test and how everything will look like. Thanks for posting this video!
Congratulations!! I would love to know your whole process of living in iceland, life there, and everything else! You should make us an update on if you got the citizenship or not! I hope you got it :)
Thank you! There is a video about how I ended up moving to Iceland and I try to post videos about my life here when I have time 🙂 I also take suggestions for video ideas so if there's anything you'd like to learn more about life in Iceland please let me know! So for an update, I passed the exam! However I can't apply for the actual citizenship until later this year, the exam was just one of the things I needed to be able to apply. If my citizenship gets approved (which I really hope it does!), it will be in December 2025. It's a very long process here
How exciting! I'm surprised it was so relaxed. What level Icelandic do you need to have (C1, C2?) to be able to pass it?Keeping my fingers crosses for your results but I'm sure you've passed it! You seem so confident and knowledgeable. 😊😊👍
I know nothing about those levels unfortunately (I know they're used around the world but I never came across them when I lived in the UK!) But if you've taken Icelandic 3 I'd think you could pass it easily 🙂 it isn't too difficult Thank you!
Hello, I finished Iceland 1 and 2 in Mimi and I am studying Iceland 3 by myself because of the summer vacation. If I finish Iceland 2 and 3, will that be enough for me to pass? I will register for the next exam. What is your advice? Are there any examples of exams?
Hello, I would say take the exam if you finish Icelandic 3 😊 I think there's a good chance you'd pass! I've heard that there are some practice exams but I haven't used them myself, I also heard that they aren't the same as the actual exam itself. Good luck with the exam!
@@LoppyLoves thank you very much :) I just realized that I can answer most of the questions when I check the last chapter ( hvað kann ég? - part ) If I study more I wish I can..
I find it interesting that there is an Icelandic language exam. You say that it is "used in the citizenship application" - what other aspects are there for the whole citizenship application? Knowledge of Icelandic history, culture, laws etc?
The rest of the requirements are just personal documents such as criminal record checks, proof of income etc There are no other exams about culture or history, just the language exam 🙂

@Antishy good luck in the exam! With Icelandic 4 I'm sure you'll have no problem passing 😁
Great video. Out of interest how do they stand with dual citzenship. Must you renounce your current or is it shared?
Iceland and the UK both allow dual citizenship 😊

Thank you so much for sharing this. How long until you know if you passed? The citizenship exam sounds like a final for an Icelandic language class.
Thanks for watching 😊 They told us we need to wait 6 weeks until we get the results
I just passed Icelandic 1 through Mimir. And I study on app LinQ now. Do you think it will be enough?
I would say it's at least worth a try! Personally I think the exam is somewhere between Icelandic 2 and 3
And congratulations on passing Icelandic 1! 🥳

Are the women in Iceland open to marriages?
That would depend on each individual woman and if she wants to marry or not
