@@gavinmurrell3415 Thanks. The ads at the time stated that 80% of the parts on the bike were UK made. That's what compelled me to get one at that time, then another 2 years later. I have the 2019 RS in Matte Black and its amazing, the suspension as mentioned below has to be tuned for you then the bike is perfect for almost anything except here in the New England region where we have less then great roads at times. Was down picking up a 900 Rally Pro and saw the new colors and fell in love again its a perfect bike to put a grin on your face. And that is what its all about.
Thank you for the great job! I can not wait for the comparison video between the R and RS. It looks to me that for road rider, R is even better, I could live with the white one. While talking about the triples, have you considered doing a review on the "new" Yamaha XSR900? Everyone is giving that bike compliments all over the tube. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Thank you for the great videos.
Very nice Andy and love the colour also, personally i'd go for the R model. I'm not usually into nakeds but this street triple is making me think thrice 😁
Track weapon ready! More RPM (like more happy zone 😊), more braking power (brembo stylema) and better suited to the track day (moto2) 💛💛💛 and Cosmic Yellow is awesome 😄
The difference between the R and the Rs is not only the breaks and suspension. it is also that beautiful yellow paint job. and the red is really sweet also. I wish those colors came on the R. it would be hard not to want to want to pay the extra money for the RS just for the HP and suspension, but the paint job just solidifies it. but I wonder if you could adjust the RS suspension to be as nice on the road as the R. love that stock sound.
As expected, the 765rs looks and sounds as good as we thought it would, and that particular colour nails it. But for me I'd go for thr 765r, because of the 'running out of bottle' factor, it would be wasted on me haha. Only thing I'd change would be the mirrors, those bar end one's look great. Hopfully get to see the direct comparison video.
Just watched both Street Triple reviews. I agree entirely with you on the Popeye headlights look. Have you ever evaluated a Double Tronics module? Its supposed to solve the issue by giving the high beam a little power when the low is on. It might be a gimmick, but maybe it works.
A lot of people talking about suspension set up in the comments, maybe you could make the simple "more compliant" adjustments recommended in the owner's manual (or talk to Triumph if the loan bike does not have one) and feedback to all your thoughts in one of your videos.
Great review as always Andy...l did watch the R review...Couple of observations. With the best suspension in the world its still set as a compromise isn't it. l have the suspension set up for Er' spirited riding... but its only relevant for good surface roads... move onto a more agricultural road and it becomes painful.... Coping with UK's bumpy, pot holed roads demands respect...Secondly my Striple was initialy fitted with Pirelli Corsa's. Here in Spain they stuck to the hot roads like they were glued, unfortunately they soon wore out, so now l use Pirelli Rosso Mk 3, which again is a compromise, in cost and possible grip, albeit a small one... The Triumph Street Triple 'IS' the benchmark of the genre, always has been.... l still ride my 2014 version, it's immaculate to look at and rides beautifully... If my pension would run to the latest RS l would do it...
Test rode the rs and r back to back rs is way to track focused r feels much nicer on the road still fully adjustable suspension. I bought the r version with saved money stuck some extras on it 👍🏻
Like you Andy I rode the R and RS back to back but unlike you I found the ride on the RS more plush (maybe a previous tester messed about with the suspension settings),I do agree with you about the Rs TFT being preferable though I must confess what made me opt for the RS was the colour, I went for the cosmic yellow, Triumph have definitely raised the bar once again. incidentally the cosmic yellow and carnival red are an extra 200 quid but IMO well worth it.
I rode both back to back as well starting with the r. I agree the rs is plusher. I couldn't notice the extra 10 bhp either, you'd have to be reving it high to notice that which I didn't do on the test rides as both bikes only had around 30 miles on them. For me it was the colour /nicer spec and the fact it's my first ever brand new bike that made me opt for the rs.
What a great looking bike, especially in that colour - makes those ridiculous bug eye headlights look purposeful 😂. Sounds great too, I must never test ride!
Beautiful bike , stunning colour ,the metallic red is also very nice , I prefer this instrument cluster,to the other version, but like you the button switch gear seems a better option, nice review,,
I'd love your opinion on this compared to a BMW S 1000 R? I had one of them when they came out here in Australia in 2014 and absolutely LOVED that thing. I loved the power, the handling and the ride in general. I did find it could be a very harsh ride on roads that were a pretty old and patched many times but, mostly it was great. I wound up having a very bad accident thanks to a dill launching his 4X4 wagon out into me at 100 kph which has had me too wrecked for too long but now, starting to really want another one but, this is a fair bit cheaper, I'm getting on at near 70 and may not even be able to do the sort of miles I was clocking up before. I know I loved that BMW but maybe this could do the job and be just as exciting? I SHOULD probably be looking at a big tourer but, I have always hated great overfat things with big but sluggish engines, I DO love light, high performance and great handling machines. I also have a completely stuffed left knee so that weight issue comes in to that too. I am really liking the way this seems to go, despite the hp and torque difference of the BMW having 165 hp and 114 NM of torque compared to this's 121 hp and 79 MN torque which suggest it's probably going to pull pretty darned good at revs but needs those revs to go much more than the BMW. I haven't ridden one of these either so a comparative ride description would be really appreciated, especially considering age and many many injuries suffered over many years of riding and racing. Thanks in advance. EDIT: You quoted 128 HP. Mine figures are from the AU dealership and maybe they're slightly different emissions or state of tune. Odd that they'd differ though. As for riding modes, stuff them. On my S 1000 R I put it in dynamic pro, turned off traction control and anti lock on the rear and kept it like that, rain hail or shine. When new, first rain I tried their silly rain mode and it was so doughy it was difficult to ride in some ways. It's called THROTTLE CONTROL BMW!! Just tell people to ADAPT to conditions!
Great video as always, I do like this bike. I have a Triumph Trident now, and was thinking about having this as the next upgrade of the Ducati Monster plus.
Great review Andy, i totally agree re your comment about the standard version being better suited to the road, sometimes, less is definitely more. Love the colour, but don`t like those style parts at the bottom of the tank that point forward, too much style influence from other manufacturers.
One thing to correct; the R has separate function Showa BigPistonFork with preload on the left leg and compression and rebound on the right. The RS has upgraded combined function Showa, also BigPistonFork but with adjustments for preload, compression, and rebound on both legs. The RS front fork has more flexibility in adjustment and compliance across road and specially track riding =)
A well balanced review Andy. Excellent. Your comments about the difference in ride quality between the R and RS are pretty much evident in your early onboard shots, simply by watching the ‘shake’ of your helmet cam. I think it would have to be the relative plushness of the R for me, with my slightly dodgy back
It's got fully adjustsble suspension, including fork preload. You can dial it in to any characteristics you want, and get it set just right for your weight. It's quite firm setup from factory, but you can get it very plush and comfortable, while still being sharp.
I do wish that Triumph gives out more info about the spring rates of these bikes. If they’re the same then the holing could emulate the R shock no problem.
@@stephenspiteri_zunkus I agree, that would be nice. There's charts for different suspension settings in the owners manual, but not much info (i think..?) on rider weights and spring adjustment settings, rear sag etc. You'll have to find that for yourself, but not knowing where to start it's a bit of trial and error. But worth it!
@@grotesqo8570 You can tweak compression and rebound damping I agree, but changing preload on the front or rear doesn’t affect the spring rate (as Stephen alludes to)
@@Maverick-moto Yes, but that's the case for every motorcycle ever made ;) So if the spring rate is wrong for your weight, you'll always need to change springs on any bike.
Love my beautiful cosmic yellow RS, the best bike Triumph has made in years IMHO. A couple of clicks less compression and more rebound front and rear make a massive difference to on-road ride quality. The standard R is good, but the RS is just the ultimate middleweight mousetrap at present.
Another great video, thanks for info 👍, looking at one in Central California USA , trading in the Kim 1290 s , 2019 just past 25000 Miles .Bought a BMW 1250 Gsa last year to replace the big KTM for touring duty’s, want one that could go down any dirt road , 12500 miles so far .
Thank you Mt. Flyer. So no surprises here as expected I'm sure. Once you have finally decided on the gender of the bike you'll be sorted lol. I agree with you that this bike and colour combo is absolutely stunning, and in another world maybe I'd go for this but I'm really not changing my '21 R any time soon. I'm really interested to hear how these bikes compare and which you would (or will hehe) go for. Keep up the great work I'll catch you next time. :>)
I found the 2022 Street Triple 765RS firm in the suspension and after a year I traded it on a very low kilometres BMW R road bike which I used also for touring. I miss it and upon reflection should have bought the R765R instead of the RS. I didn't use it racing but I was a sucker for bling.
I think, if I had to choose between the 2 of them, I would have the R version. As much as the braking is sharp and the rear end under control, it's just too sporty for me pottering around the way I do. I'm still not sold on the look of either of them. I know what running out of bottle feels like, I had the exact same thought as I watched the needle slip past 230 on my Bluebell one late summer night last year, I couldn't stop farting for an hour after it 😁
Nice bike and would love one!! But over here in New Zealand cost is a bit high for it ( $23,000.00 ) Would love to hear your thoughts on the Yamaha MT-07 2023. keep up the good work.
Beautiful looking motorcycle and that colour is great. Why do the headlights remind me of transformers bumblebee !? Right to be a gushing fan boy with that one ! 😀👍
I have the 2021 version, fantastic fun bike, permanent smile on my face when riding it, going to swap the tyres for super sport tyres rather than the track focused ones that come as standard (40% grip in the wet), I think for the money Triumph should come up with something nearer to BMW’s instrument panel, acceleration is addictive, suspension factory settings great if you weigh 9st and riding on a race track.
Another great review of an awesome news bike TMF love the colour but it actually comes across in the video as orange not that it's a problem as it looks the nuts!! But again why so much black they are not all body coloured ie the front mudguard the bits on the side of the radiator part of the rear part of the panels & again no coloured wheels such a shame yet again from triumph!!! 🙄🥺 Anyway no more moaning as its a stonking great bike you best go buy one if its that good!! 👌🏻👍🏻😁 All the best Dave... 😃
Hi Andy, Great review on the R and the RS. Have you compared sport on the R with road in the RS to see if dialling down the RS makes a difference. So if you purchase an RS for track days in Sport and Road for being sensible thx
A cracking machine, no doubt. I think, however, like you, I'd gravitate toward the R. As you state, it's got all the real-world performance that you'd want, it's lighter and, of course, cheaper. Still, if more bells and whistles are one's thing, the RS is the one to go for. Love the colour on this, though. The Triumph site appears to show just one colour choice for the R; black with a red frame. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As with the appraisal of the R, a good review. Looking forward to your next 'Classic' overview.
Great review on a cool looking bike. The yellow just complements the bike and I’m going to assume Mr Magoo no longer works for Triumph. People I know in the trade are already saying that the Yellow 765 is in short demand and some punters are having to wait till 2024.
Excellent review Andy. Keep up the great work! I know you've got a Kawasaki Z900RS SE, but if you didn't, and had a choice between the Kawasaki Z900RS SE and this Triumph Street Triple 765RS, which one would you go for?
Well I did have that choice of course (I could have bought the street triple instead)…so I have to answer the Kawasaki….dont forget I owned a street triple for 10 years so have them out of my system for now (great bikes though)….
The problem is they all look good, if I could i would add one to the garage, along with a dual sport and possibly a HD of some description. Not enough days to ride them all, then it is how do you choose between them 🤔 Sticking with the speedmaster and waiting to see what the off-road small capacity bike will look like when they bring it out 😉
I had an 05 scorched ochre Speed Triple, a beautiful colour that really glowed in the sunshine. The RS looks just as good. I'm a Speed Triple fanboy currently riding a Diablo Red S model but could well be tempted in moving down to this "lesser" range of Street bikes, but can't work out if it would be Yellow or Red? They do look and sound wonderful, at a great price 🙂

You ask one question at the end, "Why would you choose a Speed Triple over a Street Triple?" and the answer to that now is when I bought my 2019 Speed Triple RS (after selling my 2013 Street Triple R is - Torque. Still intoxicating, will always be intoxicating. I love it.
40hp.
I had a 1999 speed triple and loved it, rode the 2008, it was great. Now I’m getting the new street triple because it’s like a Daytona 675r that rides like down sized speed triple. The price is great. If I had the money I would consider the speed triple. It’s a big jump in price
Remember my 2017 RX in gloss black.... absolutely adored it, have a speed triple in diablo red with arrow exhausts on (no baffles) no way near as comfy as the street but the noise is just insane 😂
I really do love the look of the 765 in the Yellow
Yes me too….
Sad to see my MT10 go, but the 765rs is far more suitable for my style of riding, wonderful bike. Cheers Andy 😊
Wow! Your moving from the mighty MT10 to the RS! Here I was thinking that I made a bold move when switching from my gutsy MT09SP. What was your first notable difference excluding the power of course?
I have an MT10, it’s arguably a bit much for the road. I had a test ride of the 2021 Street triple rs and I’d say it’s more fun to ride than the MT10
@@stephenspiteri_zunkus u got this after mt09sp? How is it different?
@@stephenspiteri_zunkus the main thing is the light flickable agile nature, I genuinely believe i can ride this quicker than a MT10.
I'm really enjoying your videos, but perhaps not for the reason you think. I used to visit relatives who lived in Great Missenden, and a lot of your footage brings back memories. I'm surprised at how much seems familiar, even after nearly fifty-years' absence. It's great fun to see bits of the countryside flash past!
Brilliant! Let me know if there’s anywhere in particular you’d like me to go….
Chatting to my Carol who owns a 2015 Street Triple. She prefers the R, slightly lower at the back, don't need the fancy Bluetooth dash. Just wish they would offer the decent paint paint schemes that they offer on the RS.
Would it really cost that much to have one painted up to your taste or use vinyl wrap ?
I do agree tho the cool colours look great
The colors for the RS are pretty good and I agree the R needs some better colors though.
I’m 100% with you in only offering decent paint in the RS….sneaky.
@@majordelays4909 Inquired a few years ago as she liked her old Imperial Purple bike. Over 1K back then. You're soon spending what it costs to buy the RS
Very professional review. I have a T595 in "Strontium yellow". It proudly has Union flag badges on each side. But it was built back in the days when incorporating flags in your products meant something.
Nice bikes, I'd love one 😊
@@gavinmurrell3415 Would you kindly expand on the revised meaning please?
@@trevorphillips3055 I paid 2k delivered! I did have to remove some cowhorn handlebars and a centre stand though. I owned a new 509, then updated to a 955i speed triple when they came out and had clip-ons on both, so this bike feels like old shoes! Super cheap to insure as well.
@@gavinmurrell3415 Thanks. The ads at the time stated that 80% of the parts on the bike were UK made. That's what compelled me to get one at that time, then another 2 years later. Now the union flag has been incorporated into the brand logo. Personally, this type of marketing insults the brand heritage, but it seems to work for most. The original (JIT/TQM) factory tour I went on is now some visitor "experience". I don't understand why they still cost so much when Thailand wages are so much lower... .
@MichaelDisney I get the appeal, I bought an 04 roulette green speed triple in 07 and kept it for 8 yrs. The 955i was a great engine. 👍🏻
Sure is!
Great review! Love mine in carnival red. Safe riding
Yes the red is beautiful too.....
Good choice, yellow attracts the flies🪰🪰
Thank you for the great job! I can not wait for the comparison video between the R and RS. It looks to me that for road rider, R is even better, I could live with the white one.
While talking about the triples, have you considered doing a review on the "new" Yamaha XSR900? Everyone is giving that bike compliments all over the tube. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Thank you for the great videos.
Great bike to ride I;m sure but I can't get on with those looks!
@@TheMissendenFlyer for me, yellow and red look better than grey and white
I wish triumph would and this sticker craziness. Lovely colour this yellow - reminds me of the original Daytona. 😊
You and me both!
Please give us the Daytona back triumph. 🙏 In yellow!
Bike is in for mot on monday. Might book a test ride 👍 thanks as always
Great video as always even if the auto captions introduced you at the start as ‘Mr Floor’…..😂🤦♂😂
The plastic brake reservoirs on Triumphs have never bothered me ! 😀
Very nice Andy and love the colour also, personally i'd go for the R model. I'm not usually into nakeds but this street triple is making me think thrice 😁
Great review.. I think I’d pay the extra purely for the nicer paint schemes 😊
Oh yes the comfort settings make it nice n plush!
Just purchased this exact bike, same yellow colour. It's considered the 24 year model here in the US.
Cannot wait to get it in the canyons!!!
COngratulations - great choice!
An absolute jewel of a bike. I don't know about you TMF, but Ideally I'd like the the rs engine in the r and I'd be a very happy boy 🙂
This reminds me of my second bike back in 2001-04, the Honda Hornet 600cc. Gotta love a yellow bike .
Lovely ....was waiting for your review since the day Triumph launched the 2023 version. Red also looks smashing...
Yes it does - though I think the Yellow may tip it for me....
So tempted to upgrade my 2021 Striple.
I test rode one about a month ago and ordered one straight away, they couldnt get a yellow one till November so i ordered one for march 24 cant wait.
Congratulations!
Yes not a bad idea that!
Yes I agree totally Brian - I very much miss my 2012 "R" - would love a Street Triple again!!
Good plan!
This looks like fun bike for track days.
Another great video Andy, I love the yellow colour
You and me both!
Beautiful bike , stunning colour ,the metallic red is also very nice , I prefer this instrument cluster,to the other version, but like you the button switch gear seems a better option, nice review,,
I like the clear plastic reservoir, can see when the fluid needs bleeding.
There is that yes!
Ohlins need to be sprung to your weight. Critical for comfort and control. Good looking color.
Yes I need to try that out....
Great video as always, I do like this bike. I have a Triumph Trident now, and was thinking about having this as the next upgrade of the Ducati Monster plus.
Go for it!
I didn’t spot that - thanks for the clarification!
Carnival red would be the sole reason I'd go for the RS.
Nice one Andy. Thank you. 👍😎
If only I was younger 😊😊
Love my beautiful cosmic yellow RS, the best bike Triumph has made in years IMHO. A couple of clicks less compression and more rebound front and rear make a massive difference to on-road ride quality. The standard R is good, but the RS is just the ultimate middleweight mousetrap at present.
It sure is a lovely bike - you're a fortunate man Rich!
Really love that yellow color.
All bikes are "she" aren't they??
@@TheMissendenFlyer So not "brothers" as you said a few times in the vlog?
aha - got me!!
Great Review. Let's you feel like it would be to ride one. Looking forward to your conclusion video of the two variants.
I found the 2022 Street Triple 765RS firm in the suspension and after a year I traded it on a very low kilometres BMW R road bike which I used also for touring. I miss it and upon reflection should have bought the R765R instead of the RS. I didn't use it racing but I was a sucker for bling.
Would love to see this colour way back on it's bigger Triple Brother 👍😎
Superb bike, superb riding jacket
Thanks ✌️
Dream bike, great review, sir.
Glad you enjoyed it
The red one is mint looking too.
Agreed....
I think, if I had to choose between the 2 of them, I would have the R version. As much as the braking is sharp and the rear end under control, it's just too sporty for me pottering around the way I do. I'm still not sold on the look of either of them. I know what running out of bottle feels like, I had the exact same thought as I watched the needle slip past 230 on my Bluebell one late summer night last year, I couldn't stop farting for an hour after it 😁
Heated grips is an extra unfortunately, but you can get cruise control on the RS. Had mine for 2 months, amazing bike.
Thanks for the clarification and glad you're enjoying the bike!
+1 - great question. Ride/suspension overlap is key here.
I have the exact same bike, I got the suspension set up for me for £50, makes a great bike ride and handle even better, what a bike these are...
Totally agree! Great machines….
Ooops! Correction. Regarding colours. Scrap the red frame!!
Got Monsters and SV's on the brain, obviously!😂

The yellow just complements the bike and I’m going to assume Mr Magoo no longer works for Triumph.
People I know in the trade are already saying that the Yellow 765 is in short demand and some punters are having to wait till 2024.
Short demand or short supply 🤔

Excellent review Andy. Keep up the great work! I know you've got a Kawasaki Z900RS SE, but if you didn't, and had a choice between the Kawasaki Z900RS SE and this Triumph Street Triple 765RS, which one would you go for?
Well I did have that choice of course (I could have bought the street triple instead)…so I have to answer the Kawasaki….dont forget I owned a street triple for 10 years so have them out of my system for now (great bikes though)….

@@TheMissendenFlyer 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've always liked these, but I won't lie, the yellow colour is the main reason I finally pulled the trigger on one.
Yes looks great doesn’t it….
The problem is they all look good, if I could i would add one to the garage, along with a dual sport and possibly a HD of some description. Not enough days to ride them all, then it is how do you choose between them 🤔
Sticking with the speedmaster and waiting to see what the off-road small capacity bike will look like when they bring it out 😉
I had an 05 scorched ochre Speed Triple, a beautiful colour that really glowed in the sunshine.
Couldn't agree more!
@@TheMissendenFlyer the revised Street 765 seems to have avoided the difficulties Triumph had with the launch of the 1200.
Aside from owners saying it's a different bike to the 1050, the teething problems it had has put me off.
