Happened on this video and I wanted to give you some ideas about teaching your birds to eat their veggies and fruits. Unfortunately, I'm just now trying to teach my cockatiel but this birder I follow has some great ideas for you. They're "BirdNerdSofie" and "TheParrotTeacher". I enjoy all their tips and tricks and thought I would pass 'em along. I do have one bit of knowledge about leaving your bird out of the cage while you're out of the house. Pleeease, don't do this. My husband did stuff like this and it led to losing our bird right out the door and flying away. He was so sick with guilt that with our new bird, he pays much more attention and doesn't let him out of the cage unless at least one of us is actively engaging with him. Birds aren't dogs (as much as my husband wishes he could treat him as such) but even dogs chew up stuff sometimes while we're gone. A bird will get itself in trouble chewing on wires from our electronic devices, for example. Mello could be at the front door and when you enter, out she'll go. It's not a pleasant feeling -- trust me, I know. Lastly, Mello seems like a great bird. Don't forget to whistle to her and talk as well! If she's the sex that speaks more than sings, you will have loads of fun listening to her talk back to you!! Have fun, take care and sorry I wrote so much. 🦜
Thank you. I'm a novice to this and just learning so any advice is appreciated. I'm sorry about losing your bird. I would feel pretty bad too if that happened to me. I will definitely check out channel because I need my birds to eat other food especially fruits.
