My bird Ulfric(Cockateil) is scared of fireworks as well,that's why I let him sleep/cuddle in my bed as it comforts him.

parrots are very social. a friend for them is always a good try. ☺I love the name 😂

Keeping them separated is not good after introduction by like a week you should let them share a cage. Also keeping the two cages together is better for them to get used to one another till the merge
