Of the three big German car brands (Audi, Mercedes, and BMW), Audi has by far the best-looking electric cars. You can tell they are having fun designing them.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but whilst I appreciate the Audi looks efficient, I don't think it's as good looking as the BMW i5 but the Mercedes EQE/EQS are much better looking, albeit they don't offer estate versions and I don't like their SUV versions.
Novelty of EV's is wearing thin these days, but I think something with bigger implications might be happening, which is a mutual silent majority coming to a conclusion that cars with internal combustion engines represent a more exciting and involved driver-oriented experience than any EV is capable of replicating. The lack of sound doesn't attract onlookers and once the silence of an EV becomes commonplace and no longer represents wealth they will be about as attractive to the ladies as pulling up in a golf cart. EV's have many benefits but I don't see how they could ever be more scintillating than something mechanical.
I don't think you grasp what is going on with EVs. They will replace ICE cars because governments collectively decided to mandate this shift. Manufacturers aren't switching to EVs by choice but are doing so under duress. By 2035 new ICE cars will be banned in Asia and Europe. Manufacturers don't have an incentive to continue to develop ICE cars because of upcoming bans.
What it should be is: Estate name in BMW: Touring Estate name in Audi: Avant Estate name in USA: Wagon But as Mr. Reid is obsessed with America and everything American, he has forgotten that he is actually English, so has subsequently decided to adopt and apply Americanisms whenever and wherever he can.
The estate configuration is just the better option for people who need more space - especially in an EV. I'd go Estate over SUV any day. No performance compromises (vs. a saloon) like you get in an SUV. Just a longer roof line. This one is especially good looking. Bring back estates!

The facelifted 2024 S6 TDI Avant, which opened order books in the UK in June 2023, already costs £85k and has less tech and less punch (but more max speed which is irrelevant in all markets except Germany). If you include the new tech, more power, new styling + the inflation for 2024 and for 2025, then it leads to the conclusion that you won't be overpaying.

The Etron will be way better since its systems can operate much faster since its not just the differential but the whole engine just turning on and off. You can see that in a German Carwow video with an SQ8 Etron and an RS4

Camera mirrors are great. But when you're not used to them (as obvoiusly no car reporters are), you keep being negative about them. Use it for a week, and you do not want to go back.
Honestly I think the transition from petrol/diesel to electric should've been more "smoothly", like focus more on making hybrids instead of "forcing" people to go full electric. Cuz sooner or later most /if not all/ manufacturers will make only electric cars.
Nope that will never happen. Even today BEVs are still a fraction of most Automaker's inventory. The maximum level of market share BEV can achieve is about 70% while PHEV for specialized use cases take up 25%. While the last 5% is specialty cars pure ICE. Stop with the wacky idea it's a all or nothing option, it's just going to be what ever is practical mass produce and use in the real world. FYI I'm a BEV superfan but I recognize the limitations.
Hybrids are not popular because it's a pointless compromise. When it comes to normal in civilization traffic use. It's added complexity for not much gain. Hybrids only make sense where you the spcialised use case of electric performance + fueling in remote places. Commuting with mild Hybrid is moronic, stick with pure ICE for now and long range BEV later.
Obviously the new Audi A6 Avant is the much better looking model than the Sportback that looks chunky. So why Audi is not making the Avant available in the US? The marketing department needs their head examined.
I really don't get VW's latest obsession with the chrome thingy going all the way to the back. WHYYYYYYYYYY. That stuff used to be attached to all Chinese cars ten years ago. So I guess that kinda shows you where the VW designers are stuck - because this Avant is nothing more than a glorified Passat/Superb. The Fastback, on the other hand, a nice looking piece of technology. Pity it will drop in value like an anchor of a Chinese ship crossing over optic fibers in the Nordics.
Big range = big battery = need for super-fast charging = costly recharging = very heavy car = impractical. EVs are only suitable for urban, short journeys.
WTF that is wacko absurd nonsense. You even state Big Range thus not just suitable urba short journeys. FYI Cars with this amount of range on average over many runs have done the 2,800 Mile Canonball Run in 42 hours (yes there is better records). Costly Super Fast Charging is only for those days when you have to drive 300 miles plus considering how much range this car has. Vast majority do not drive 300 mile in a day often, charging on slow Level 2 AC is a FRACTION the price of petrol. It's like you ignored the number just to force your agenda which defies logic.

Nice Add but you forgot to tell us exactly how much they loose per car ! Euros , Pounds ,Dollars ? I don’t mind but please do tell 🤦♂️.
Where's the new jag video?
I am very , curious about the looks of the new A7 🤔, was and is one of the best looking Audi car , just hope that will not blow it up this time
Obviously the new Audi A6 Avant is the much better looking model than the Sportback that looks chunky. So why Audi is not making the Avant available in the US? The marketing department needs their head examined.
I like EVs, the Audi S6 e Tron is a beautiful car
I really don't get VW's latest obsession with the chrome thingy going all the way to the back. WHYYYYYYYYYY. That stuff used to be attached to all Chinese cars ten years ago. So I guess that kinda shows you where the VW designers are stuck - because this Avant is nothing more than a glorified Passat/Superb. The Fastback, on the other hand, a nice looking piece of technology. Pity it will drop in value like an anchor of a Chinese ship crossing over optic fibers in the Nordics.
Where did Rory get such a good sense of humor 😂 I thought he hated Audi.
Ngl, this entire review feels like an ad, especially that weird phone call thing where Rory talks about the car to the winner.
The headlights remind me of the older citroen picasso. I cant unsee that similarity now 🤔The bag looks good though
why did i not get the wow feeling about this car ? and a electric rs6 !! no i dont think so not while bmw and mb are going hybrid
Super cool car
You lost me at Electrified 🤷😒🤦
If it uses the Same Audi Previous Electrified plataforms efficiency will be bad
Remember though all those nice features are options. To get the big sound system, you first have to option some sort of MMI package at a huge cost.
i love wagons but this looks like a kia van made a baby with BYD and then they put a lowering kit on it. massive design fail.
Imagine the depreciation... (signed, C6 S6 owner/custodian)
It’s always the cars the majority of autoexpress users will never be able to afford. Let’s see more every day cars!
