    Hi Chuck
    Thank you so much for your wonderful comment about our humble video! Right now we have no video downloads on our website only PDFs but hopefully in the future we will do this. You could try one of the UA-cam down loaders that are out there. Just do a web search because they are very easy to find and use. If our humble dojo can be of any other help please drop us a email!
    Peace and light
    your friend
    Ray

    Hey Ray! I'm just curious about the Aikido method of meditating. I am starting in Aikido and its meditating position is on the knees, like you did. But the way to meditate is like the Zen one? Where you focus in your breath, trying to put away the thoughts?

    • @raysilverstrand
      @raysilverstrand  8 років тому +1

      +Pedro Gouveia Hello! yes we also meditate from our knees which is called seiza. It is very focused on Zen, trying to put thoughts away while working for total awareness. The breath is a key factor in that it should be like the nature breathing of a new born child who is at peace.

    Wow. I know about aikido, but is it really like that? People seriously live this way? Does it work? I've tried various marshal arts, shorinji kempo, ju-jutsu, karate, judo, kickboxing and boxing, but each time i practiced, i would hit a wall, and on that wall was always written the same question: "why am i doing this, what is the point, i don't want to hurt anyone", and honestly it felt like i was only hurting myself. I don't have it in me. So this must be the answer then? Aikido? It was just fancy calisthenics, all of those marshal arts that i tried...I didn't get it. Still don't. I'm not an aggressive person, i just want peace. But i like marshal arts. There is something beautiful, spiritual and sacred to it. At least that is what i like to see in it. I believe if you can trick your attacker/opponent/person who is conflicting you for some reason, into avoiding the physical fight all-together, that you are the winner. I want to learn more about aikido. Thank you for this beautiful video. I may have found what i was looking for.

      +aerozg Yes, many of us try to live the way of Aikido. It is a very difficult but beautiful path. Thank you so much for your thoughts on peace!

    Why didn't O Sensei fight H. Gracie like the judo Kodokan did.If Aikido was that great and he really could throw three people at one time why did he not except the challenge? I will tell you why the fight would have ended in 3 seconds.

      +ToniMattTony O Sensei truly believed in peace so he tried to avoid conflicts at all costs. So a fight like this would go truly against his philosophy. thank you so much and peace.
