This was such a good episode of Walking Dead, the story of connection, keeping your humanity and finding peace even though the world around you has gone to hell. Episodes like this one are what keep me watching this show
I was about as fucking cynical to this series since the start of the prison. And even then the show in my opinion was just trudging on. It took me a year to watch the fifth season again out of my memory of it just becoming boring, and played out. Then it took until netflix just got the new season to make me watch this, I like this episode. But when a story is made just so fucking poignant like the plot of the walking dead, it is just to fucking much. One thing I like about the concept of the apocalypse is that people are still human, most of us have a hard time killing one another. There should always be a light within the dark, but this show goes on, and on, and on blind in the darkness of the story.
@@zib8512yeah but Ftwd isn’t in a good place right now either what 💀 neither is Twd, you may like it, but that doesn’t mean the show is still good bro. It’s dropped in quality and the writing is beyond trash at times, the only thing saving this franchise is the lack of Rick, which people are all waiting for the spin-off anyways so 🤷🏻♂️
Out of all the episodes in the so far seven seasons of the show, this episode is hands down the best. The writers, director, camera operators, and especially the actors do a great job portraying the need for humanism, peace, and serenity especially during times of trouble. Life IS precious!
Nobody is gonna give a shit about this comment, but when this episode first aired I was an angry young man who hated himself and everything due to years of bullying. I then started to try to find out who I was and find my inner peace. Then watching this episode made me literally fall apart crying when it aired, as I felt I could really relate to Morgan. It’s funny how we can make connections to characters who aren’t even real through literature and media and have it affect our own lives. I’ll always be thankful for the peace this episode brought me when I was struggling.
*What we’ve done, we’ve done* *We evade it by moving forward with a code to never do it again* *To make up for it* *To still accept what we were* That actually helps me to deal with my personal demons
Andrew Miller One of the reasons I liked this episode was because before this episode came out, Morgan said a friend taught him how to use the Bo staff, and I was wondering who that friend was. Another reason was because Eastman was a very wise, charismatic and unique character.
Unfortunately we forget these lessons, then have to learn them all over again. . . . Peace is not kept through force, it is achieved through understanding, ourselves, others, and this intricate planet we are blessed with.
I remember watching this episode at such a strange time of my life, it was comforting in a way. Felt alone, lost, I had no sense of direction with anything. I’d just dropped out of school at 17 due to health issues, everything around me was just crumbling. I remember coming home one day and watching it the day after it aired, it was the first time in a long time I’d felt at peace. It’s strange because at the time I wasn’t expecting much from this episode, but watching through it let me slip away from reality for a while. It took me into another world where there was nothing but just peace and acceptance. All the noise from my problems turned off. This sounds corny af writing this lmao but it’s the truth, every time I see scenes from this episode it reminds me of those times. There’s a lot of nostalgia watching this back, things are okay now :)
This was the BEST episode I have ever watched from the walking dead. It is so peaceful. Just makes you open your eyes and look at the bright side of everything. Let’s you understand yourself the right way. The music is awesome too!
I lived off grid in Hawaii when this came out. I didn't even know about it until 2014. When my daughter and her family were watching it as addicts . I was like so upset. How could you watch this!!! I was home in Denver visiting. I hated it. I started watching this just because it was in in every room! Well I haven't stopped, I've seen every twd episode at least 18 times. Such an exquisitely beautiful and poignant episode. The fact that Morgan, after losing his family and his humanity to the apocalypse, can find inner peace again after having lived as a murderer in the woods gives me a sense of peace.
I think this is my favourite episode in the entire show. While “The Grove” and “The Calm Before” are up there, this episode just moves me in a inexplainable way. This episode has really had an effect on my life, in a way that no other did.
IKR? Stories are profound and when done well on film/TV can touch you on a deeper level. I loved this episode most too. This one might be the one good thing to take away from the whole TWD series.
The music for this episode is beautiful. It repeats several times throughout the episode, and is sprinkled in other episodes as a tribute to this one and him finding his humanity again. I love it. I wish it was an actual song and not just a clip. Either way, I love it.
Right? I been trying to find the music for this episode but it’s so hard…but my god it’s so heart warming, truly brings peace to mind when I hear this music and watch this episode
This wasn't just my favorite episode of the series. It's one of my favorite episodes from any tv show. I've dealt with mental illness for most of my adult life. I've been suicidal at times and psychotic during others. I've lost myself and who I was and my drive in life at times and I've had years where I overcompensated in the rat race. I've been surrounded by those who love me and also somehow found myself completely at other times in my life, in good times and bad. But I keep going no matter what. Morgan lost his wife, his child and old life and even lost his damn mind. And seeing all that erode away, he wanted to die. He pleaded with Eastman to kill him and tried to force Eastman to kill him by attacking him. He felt that he was too "cowardly" to take his own life, so he went around inflicting pain upon others secretly hoping that someone would put him out of his own misery. But along comes Eastman who shows him the simple joys in life, that all life is precious and that the bad things in life must be put behind you in order to move forward. I wish I had an Eastman in my life. I wish everyone should be so lucky to have encountered someone like Eastman to pick a person when he or she's down. But mental health hotlines are underfunded, understaffed and even nonexistent in some countries. Maybe the world would be a much better place if everyone could be an Eastman to everyone else. I've followed Morgan's journey on the show over the years more than the other characters. I crossed over to "Fear the Walking Dead" despite the weaker writing, bland characters and silly plots. I will always follow the show so long as Morgan is on it. Scott Gimple better not fuck things up with him the way he did with Carl.

Eastman is far and away the most influential and most memorable character who only appeared in one single episode, he’s the only person who appears in only one episode who’s name I easily remember as if he was a main character I wish they would’ve showed his backstory or gave him an episode similar to here’s negan although I guess it would be a little weird since he’s not a part of the overall story he’s only important to morgan

*Learning the art of peace from the Zodiac Killer*
This was the best episode
I've been a Walking Dead fan since 2020 I'm hooked on seasons 1-5 but I do watch some of the later ones, somehow this episode fell through the crack but I picked it up again...its one of the best messages in the series! Im gonna go try and make some cheese! cheers fellow walking dead fans!
RIP Eastman
He found his peace
this terminus place sounds good, lets go there.
the saddest episode ever💔
Wish Eastman survived longer he was cool
Eastman is far and away the most influential and most memorable character who only appeared in one single episode, he’s the only person who appears in only one episode who’s name I easily remember as if he was a main character I wish they would’ve showed his backstory or gave him an episode similar to here’s negan although I guess it would be a little weird since he’s not a part of the overall story he’s only important to morgan
Anybody 👀👀👀👀 Dr.Tetch from Gotham at the end of this episode
Miss TWD...so sad
Fear's not over yet and neither is Morgan's story. Morgan has since had that Staff broken, repaired with a new half and later turned it into the handle of a Battle Axe!!! Sadly he seems to have lost that original Staff/Battle Axe and he's back to using a cruder new Staff.
The right episode on the wrong time
