Inside the plane, there is paid wifi service available(not worth it).
Outside, you need to buy a canadian sim card. Or you can load your indian sim card with an international plan for 1 month.

As far as I know, you can purchase the bags from the Duty Free section. But you can enter there only after your bags are submitted and immigration process is done.
It will be expensive, depending on which brand suitcase you choose.

Yes, There are no direct flight bw BLR and Edmonton. You can simply book a flight from BLR to Edmonton with single or multiple stops.
