This is absolutely your best ever video Noel. An amazing complex itinerary to book especially as so many countries like Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, China require a visa and you had to run the risk that, although no visa should be required for transit, things can go horribly wrong with the wrong immigration officer on duty! I’m in awe of your trip planning and booking skills. Late 1997, I think it was, when Star Alliance was formed, SAS did something similar. If you flew with each of the five founding members in a month or two, you got awarded 2 round trip tickets with each one, to be used within 12 or 18 months, I cannot remember. I believe it was SAS, Lufthansa, Thai Airways, Air Canada and United Airlines. I heard about this offer 4 days before the last permitted day of travel, somehow managed to sort out an itinerary and on and off during three days of travels shared the experience with a bunch of other travel hackers. At the passport control in Toronto, I was stopped and the officer would not let me through unless I could explain why I was the 100th or so young Scandinavian the last days who would just arrive late at night and take a morning flight out of Canada. Needless to say, the 5 return tickets were very well utilized the following year!

As a Chinese who have flown with almost all major airlines in China, I'd have to say for some reason, China has the strictest security check in the whole world. That includes all the airports in China mainland. Beijing, as the captial city and the political center, is the strictest here. So sorry for the bad experience transfering here. But normally nobody should empty their bag during security check, even in China. BTW that no tossing sign is because some superstitous elderly Chinese people believe tossing coin into the aircraft engine can be good luck, which in real life can only bring engine failure...
Also, Hainan Airlines has the best service in China. I have flown with them on their 787 dreamliner from Shanghai to Beijing. The experience was AMAZING. So much better than the United and the American Airlines which I had flown with.
You shouldn't need to apologise. Strict security is for the benefit of safety of the public. Try transiting through USA or Isreal for 3 times as an "alien" ... would he have complained about that?

Slaughtering the names of some of the cities I live in China. I'll help you out... Guangzhou - pronounced "Gwang-joe" (The zh in Chinese sounds like a j-sound.) Xiamen - pronounced "She-ah-men" (The x in Chineses sounds close to a sh-sound.) Daxing - pronounced "Dah--shing" (same as Xiamen) Happy you love Daxing. It's an amazing airport. I never have been to the Xiamen international terminal, but there is a new Xiamen airport being built right now and hope you get to see it next time. And yes, China's security is the crappiest. They also don't let you charge your phone on the plane with a power bank. It's so insane.
I am halfway through the video and cringing every time he mispronounced Guangzhou. He kept saying Guangzhao. I came to the comments to see if anyone picked up on that. At least he got the "zh" sound correct. I guess he does it again for the other cities too?
Chinese here❤ love it when you struggle to pronounce Guangzhou😂😂 and didn't understand as you said Xiamen Airline😂😂 actually it sounds more like shamen instead of jamen but never mind you video is fantastic🎉 another interesting thing is the xianmen airline on board meals are generally very well-received here in China so I guess it is cooked catering to oriental taste. And about the Chinese airport security thing, I absolutely agree with every word of you. They are just notoriously tedious and frustrating even for domestic fights and connections, not to mention the international ones. Basically everything is just a bit of a faff. Here in China, we joke that all these troubles are meant to get people traveling by train😂And the phenomenon you mention about the lady shouting into a mic is also interesting. I think there is really something cultural going on behind this, as people from other countries seem less likely to do that. One reason might be that Chinese people seem to be often highly "immune" to sound from a speaker, which might be due to the fact that back in the days that's what they use every day in every community during "communism construction". Even today it is used everywhere and sometimes too casually in China. As a result, the speaking person might forget to lower voice when needed, and listeners often pay little or no extra attention. I guess that's why in public nowadays in China we still see people shouting into mic even when it's oblivious unnecessary. More like a habit with cultural background. Keep on with great videos🎉 and in the future you might want to consider avoiding flights through China really😂😂

Fair play Noel This was a good watch and your patience overall is astounding. I know the Swissotel Jakarta very well having lived there for 2 years during Covid. You are very English in your approach, polite to a fault. One of the best of your videos. Well done now have a rest.
You never cease to amaze me, Noel, how you torture yourself on such challenges like this one, or on busses or whatever! I would be most curious how much these 17 legs cost. I'm sure some were paid in cash and others in miles, but the miles have a monetary value that can be estimated. Anyway, 1 million SAS miles can be purchased for approximately $10,000, or the equivalent of $588 for each of the 17 legs. In the end, was it worth it from a financial point of view and would you attempt it again? Anyway, as always I love watching your channel! 💗
Absolute gold!!!! Having Jakarta as my home airport, and Garuda as my home airline, I am very much glad that you had such great experience with them. They've had a rough couple of years because of covid, but I'm absolutely glad they've kept up their customer service! Thanks for the video :D
Once upon a time, all I could do is dream of my next trip. You are an angel, subtracting this need, showing me the way, proving the adage, 'there's no place like home'- please keep trekking, so I can keep perspective.

"Guangzhou": the first part is like "gwong", which rhymes with "gong", and the second part is like "joe". "Xiamen": the "xia" part sounds like "shah". ♥
@Marco-w2l Yea, chatgpt exists. I constantly google how to pronounce things. I will say it's a bit of British pride to butcher words, and the transliteration of Chinese to English is garbage. You will always fail if you don't know the place.
@@qwaszx2It’s also a British pride to mispronounce words in Spanish and French, even the most basic greetings, just like how Noel did it on his AM, AR, UX and AF flights.
@@peterzhou372 While he ate fillit miggnawn. The weirdest language absurdity for me is how English people say Metis correctly in French, but French Canadians says it like a redneck in English would say it.

@@millennialaviation I haven't actually but given all the Filipinos in the Houston area it doesn't surprise me. I don't know but that might be too long of a flight for me. The flight between Houston (IAH) and Tokyo (NRT) was long enough for me. I prefer doing it the old fashion way IAH-->HNL-->GUM-->MNL, then use Cebu Pacific for any inter-island travel. The only drawback to doing it this way is the first flight which always seems to be delayed and the possibility of a misconnection in Honolulu.

I didn't even know American citizens were welcome there. Also so cool to see all these different airline companies and the planes they use. Truly enjoyed this one Noel! 😍
I will get round to watchin it later... But watching you suffer through a video is so much fun lol And please don't take this as a bad comment this is just the most enjoyable and makes me appreciative that I dont have to do it, What shocked me the most was the Greyhound videos you would never get away with that service in the UK or the rest of Europe.
I did not expect to watch the entire video but here I am. Congrats on completing the challenge, great video. I hope you update us when SAS awards the miles.
Dear Noel, I've been watching your videos for few years already and I usually enjoy them quite s lot but this time sincerely I disagree with you about Chinese airports. I fly around China at least twice a week and I can say that the security is usually very organised (but of course strict). They just took almost everything out of your bag because they need to manually check all of your batteries. In China there have been numerous mid-air incidents with cheap power banks so the security staff is obliged to individually check any battery that you bring on board. Maybe it's easier for me because I'm used to it but I don't think that it's a so big problem. 🤝🏻

I’m on four to six domestic flights a week for work. Your videos give me anxiety but I willfully watch them. They make me miss international travel for a few minutes but then I remember all the suffering I went through over the past few decades. Keep up the great work.
26:38 I saw it 😂😂😂😂 PT. SEMEN CONCH. Made my imagination go wild for a quick second 😂😂😂
I did a double take and had to rewind 😂
@@sheric3734 😂😂😂
You guys have no idea how many times my foreign friends joke about Indonesian of Cement 😭🙏
This must take a mammoth amount of planning, would love a separate video on that
Yes, would love to learn what it took to plan including tips and budget guidelines.
I work doing corporate travel with those programs (Sabre)
And I cannot believe how he managed to do all those flights
It’s incredibly difficult to plan out
Maybe I’m inexperienced with the program but kudos to him to pull it through
@@strawvbeespecially the Chinese flights back and forth and the lesser known airlines and budget airlines. All those have to be done separately and then you have to hope and pray they don’t cancelled on you or delays at connections and ultimately getting to the planes and not over sleeping.
Noel is a madman, I'm here for every minute of it!!!!! lol love these bangers!
You’re halfway to 1 million subscribers! You deserve it man! I’m hoping this channel never loses its small creator feel though. Hoping you keep it this personal and not hire a team to manage where you lose the fun enthusiasm of doing everything yourself.
Slaughtering the names of some of the cities I live in China. I'll help you out...
Guangzhou - pronounced "Gwang-joe" (The zh in Chinese sounds like a j-sound.)
Xiamen - pronounced "She-ah-men" (The x in Chineses sounds close to a sh-sound.)
Daxing - pronounced "Dah--shing" (same as Xiamen)
Happy you love Daxing. It's an amazing airport. I never have been to the Xiamen international terminal, but there is a new Xiamen airport being built right now and hope you get to see it next time. And yes, China's security is the crappiest. They also don't let you charge your phone on the plane with a power bank. It's so insane.
Also the Spanish names😢😢😢
I am halfway through the video and cringing every time he mispronounced Guangzhou. He kept saying Guangzhao.
I came to the comments to see if anyone picked up on that. At least he got the "zh" sound correct.
I guess he does it again for the other cities too?
A typical Brit who mispronounces every single word in any foreign language. He says “Buenas noches” and “Bonjour” terribly too. 😂
Fantastic entertainment, and an absolutely fascinating adventure. Thanks for sharing, but remember "No Tossing"... 😳
😂
I would love to see a video about how the trip was planned and coordinated. It's a massive undertaking!
Did you actually get your million points or was there some sort of a loophole they used to avoid paying them out
The promotion is still running
We will probably receive them by the end of January or in February
It wouldn't be surprising if they found a way to not payout, these big companies are scumbags that way all too often!😡
@@marcushjuler5718 we? 😅
Splendid video! I l really love your awesome humour, it really lightens up the mood!
Got a kick out of seeing a Sun Country livery in Jakarta!
It's even more hilarious when we get an Air Asia livery in Tampa. I've seen one there for maintenance runs.
How do these usual airlines get that far from their home country?
Bro thinks he's on the team 💀
Why is there a Sun Country plane in Jakarta? They don't fly international do they?
@@JeanClaudeCOCO ferry flights. They load it up with fuel fly it as far as one can. For narrowbodies like this one it's likely making multiple stops along the way.
Congrashoolashuns! You are a man of action & not just talk (like many other bloggers). Enjoy the froots of your hard work!! ❤❤
Even when Noel is upset he's not actually upset your such a lovely person Noel absolutely loved this episode.
Absolute gold!!!! Having Jakarta as my home airport, and Garuda as my home airline, I am very much glad that you had such great experience with them. They've had a rough couple of years because of covid, but I'm absolutely glad they've kept up their customer service! Thanks for the video :D
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you for flying with Kenya airways. The pride of Africa.
What an impressive achievement Noel. Great video and a lot of hard work and stress. Thank you for going through the torment for us.
Can you make a tierlist video about your most and least favorite city you've been to? And maybe most underrated/overrated as well
Once upon a time, all I could do is dream of my next trip. You are an angel, subtracting this need, showing me the way, proving the adage, 'there's no place like home'- please keep trekking, so I can keep perspective.
To the security team: “Keep the 20p for doing such a good job” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
“King of the castle, king of the castle, waa waa waa” 😂😂😂
I felt like I was on that journey with you, what a great video. The jeopardy, frustrations, relief, and laughs. Brilliant ❤
this looks EXHAUSTING. but wonderful you get all those points! have a great christmas noel! ❤
"Guangzhou": the first part is like "gwong", which rhymes with "gong", and the second part is like "joe". "Xiamen": the "xia" part sounds like "shah". ♥
At last. I got sick of hearing the mis-pronunciation
As an Irishman, this is very typical for me to hear an Englishman mispronounce words, at times seemingly quite deliberately, and with pride. I find it hard to believe that a man who has travelled so much in the world seems to lack so much self awareness.
Man I really enjoy your channel..The channel and your content has really become very good and combined with your personality is gold. Cheers bro
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words!
I don't know how Noel does it flying back to back to back flights. I just got back to Houston from Cebu and still feel and dream of the turbulence.
Have you heard that Philippine Airlines is eyeing Houston? I hope everything goes through
@@millennialaviation I haven't actually but given all the Filipinos in the Houston area it doesn't surprise me.
47:30 😂
“Chocolate starfish” and the hot dog flavored water. 😂
Please more of those Videos. Great Adventure to watch
That's epic! As an aviation enthusiast, I really enjoy (and sometimes envy) your trips. I really enjoyed your Southernmost to Northernmost and now this all Skyteam flights. You take us on all sorts of airlines, airports, and corners of the world. Would be really helpful for many if you also give us your rating for the hotels along your trips or some ongoing deals.
How much did all the flights cost? Have you stopped giving out cost per mile info?
Surrpsied how motivated and positive you are doing these videos. Also yes people on Escalators 😂
Much congratulate you on how dedicated you are!
Challange: How many flights can you do, in a row, without exiting security & getting a hotel room
well done and for having the courage to tackle this huge task.
31:17 I did NOT expect to see Kenya airways in Guangzhou China
I once flew Kenya Airways from BKK to HKG when Thai Airways cancelled my original flight they rebooked me on Kenya. I was quite surprised.
Also a Lufthansa flight from KUL to BKK years ago.
"Good morning... or good evening depending what time my body is on" is the best line.

Do you know what registration it is?
Amazing video, as always. I keep waiting for the day that you appear in Seattle. Also - Sun Country in Jakarta?? @26:11 What the hell?
I was hoping for seventeen different loo reviews :)
Couldn't fit them all in. I will be posting full videos on a couple of these flights & there will be loo reviews.
An hour video?? Amazing, thank you for your hard work Noel! Great video as per usual x
Another epic trip - thanks for bringing us along!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A million miles! Good heavens, where are you travelling to next? The moon? 😄😁😆
You know you’re a boomer when your watch is made of lapis lazuli and you don’t make a Minecraft joke…
What a journey Noel, and again such an enjoyable video as you took us to all these airports most people would normally not see in real life. I mean flying and transferring through China, WoW. I didn't even know American citizens were welcome there. Also so cool to see all these different airline companies and the planes they use. Truly enjoyed this one Noel! 😍
I will get round to watchin it later...
But watching you suffer through a video is so much fun lol
And please don't take this as a bad comment this is just the most enjoyable and makes me appreciative that I dont have to do it, What shocked me the most was the Greyhound videos you would never get away with that service in the UK or the rest of Europe.
