Ghost Rider was my favorite games growing up. I played it even before I knew God of War existed. We didn't have much money back then, we had gotten a hacked PS2 1 year before the release of PS3 and Ghost Rider was one of my first games to play on that console, with a pirated CD. I've played half of the game countless times till I could afford a memory card. Then, I literally wouldn't be exaggerating if I say I had finished this game countless times. Compared to your experience, mine had no lag. I wish we'd get a modern Ghost Rider game that takes lessons from this old one. I had tried to play it on PCSX2 a couple times but never could make the frame time work properly. It was either a slow motion or fast forwarded gameplay.
The Wolverine Origins game was so good that I've played it multiple times. I think I played a total of three different places on the Xbox I started a new playthrough of it this year. I need to get back the Xbox version. But I think this game is freaking amazing especially with the alternative costumes the only problem is outside of the main campaign there's nothing else to do there are a couple of challenges but I wish there was kind of like a horde mode. Where you could just continue playing until you die with hundreds of enemies coming at you. And I do think it has some of the best CGI cutscenes in gaming history especially the opening and ending could being the best CGI cutscenes I've ever seen in gaming history surprisingly those cutscenes still hold up to this very day which is amazing. I love the gore engine. Especially the healing factor of Wolverine how you can see bone and internal organs the more and more you play the game. You can see him regenerate them in real time. This game surprisingly is really amazing. If Only They got to make a proper sequel
@Tactical Bacon Productions I'm surprise you haven't figure out the most broken move on GHOST RIDER, if you use R1+SQUARE (the upgraded version) you can basically shread to any enemies because the recover animation is so fast it's SPAMMABLE and the rank system doesn't give a damn if you use this 100% of the time, it will get to Vengeance rank just by killing enemies with this move XD.
This is my favorite series of yours. Please do more! I get to relive games and discover new ones of my used to be favorite but now my 2nd or 3rd favorite genre
Of the five games you talked about, I've heard of three of them. I've heard of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and heard that it was a good game. Thor: God of Thunder I heard was awful. I genuinely think Thor's head in that game looks like Patrick Star dropped a watermelon from the manure fields into his mouth. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe was game I found out existed about 1-2 years ago from a review on a channel that's no longer active. It looked like a Lego game to me with none of the charm. What surprised me the most was that Next Level Games made the game. The same dudes who made Mario Strikers Charged, Captain America: Super Soldier (AKA Wolfenstein: Arkham Asylum), and two of the Luigi's Mansion games. In fact, Strikers Charged came out the same year Friend or Foe.
The only problem with Morbius being in the Spider-Man: Friend or Foe game is that he isn't from Transylvania, he is Greek. So apart from him being a vampire, it really makes no sense for him to be there.
I actually would like to see a review about gow1, gow2, gow3, seperately or combined, from you. Doing seperately would be best, but it's up to you. You could also go in about Ascension & new Gow as well. Like a proper review, I know you've talked about Kratos' story and all that but that doesn't count as the game review. Or You can say I want to see you go in detail about the gamelplay aspect of those games.
I’m gonna go out in a limb and say I love the ghost rider movie. It’s a little cheesy at times sure but I still love it to death. Personally one of my favourite Nick cage performances. The scenes with ghost rider were just eye candy to me. Yeah the story was a bit iffy here and there and it definitely felt like there was a bit of untapped potential (like the scene where both riders travel to the final battle together but the old one who’s name I forget just leaves Johnny behind by himself) but nonetheless I still love it as just a dumb fun movie to watch. That movie got me into this ghost rider phase that I had for a while and for that it holds a special place in my heart despite its inherent flaws that I can admit it has.
for x-men I don't like the name kurt either but it is actually the name of mystique's son, nightcrawler, who inherited her blue skin and john wraiths teleport
As a kid I used to play a lot of Spider-man: Friend or Foe. The catch was that I didn't have a memory card on my PS2. So I had to play every single game from the 0 once I booted it up. Which means that this, already, boring game became all the more boring. Which also means that I never got to reach the finish of God of War 1&2, which is a shame.
The Ghost Rider game is or I should say was made to tie in with the movie only very loosely some of the characters that appeared in the movie are made to resemble loosely the actors that portrayed them but the plot of the game is next to nothing like the movie the game follows more along the line of the comics as well as featuring a multitude of characters from the comics in the form of the different bosses you fight and in the PSP version case are playable in the racing mode
My dude I completely know that feel on Friend or foe I played the hell out of it back in the day with my brother we had everything unlocked all the upgrades all the secrets and collectibles a year or two ago me and my friend were reminiscing about old games and we both brought up the subject of Spider-Man Friend or foe we had a copy lying around so we decided to pop it in for Old times sake we were both ready to stop by the fourth mission I haven't touched it since
No idea about the psp version since i never really looked into it, but in the ps2 version aside from showing up in the story, you can straight up unlock Blade as a playable character, with his own unique combos and mechanics and get through the whole game with him. Frankly i do miss when tie-in games like this existed, since a lot of them in a variety of cases had the chance to expand on some things if not include stuff that was cut from the movies entirely, like in the console version of revenge of the sith where they had a few sectons that were built off scenes that were cut. Or hell, even go further than that like that chicken little game that was a weird pseudo-sequel to movie. Nowadays everything gets relegated to basic-ass mobile games (or if you were disney you'd just pay to slap them on fortnite the moment the movie came out but thankfully that era died off for good).
@@Hatsworthful at one point during the development it wasn't just going to be played who is unlockable wolverine was also planned to be fully playable but he was cut due to time constraints

I don't know, maybe because I was a kid, maybe because you wouldn't expect much of those kind of movies, but any superhero movie from 90s to mid 00s I remember I used to like a lot, if I were to watch it nowadays, probably it would be dumb fun or just I'd think ''did I really enjoy this?'', but it's fine, same happens with a lot of games too, I think in the end, what really matters is if you're having fun, no matter how bad others say it's a bad movie or game, if you enjoy it, enjoy it
Ok I grew up with DMC, Ninja Gaiden Black, Wolverine I remember playing these games thanks to my dad who was a huge resident evil gamer like I am now so if it wasn't for him introducing me into gaming i would've never touched gaming
Honestly I love Friend or Foe. Story isn’t great, but the combat is TOP NOTCH. And damn I would love a modern day Green Lantern game. With Bayonetta style combat.
Thor: God of Thunder's DS game, while not at all a GoW-like, *is* a very competent sidescrolling beat-'em-up made by WayForward, the developers of Shantae!
I've played the Iron Man tie-in game on the DS, the two Fantastic Four movie games but what was jarring was the Rise of the Silver Surfer game where the likeness was of the movie cast but the actors didn't voice their characters instead it was just voice actors doing those characters and the X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the Wii, overall, I enjoyed those games. I remember as a kid when playing the 1st Fantastic 4 movie game, I scared my family's cat in the museum level because of the dinosaurs roaring
I just wanna say as a Spider-Man fan you should have picked Shattered Dimensions or even Edge of Time, I think that game has a combat more similar combat to God of War
I wonder if they got the idea to have the DOFP timeline be the classic movie one from this game. Also Origins wolverine is such a fun game to play with cheats on, seeing hoe much damage could be done to wolverine's body is insane.
51:20 That's Nightcrawler's name. Wraith can teleport, kinda like Nightcrawler, and in the comics Mystique is Nightcrawler's mom. I don't think Wraith is his dad in the comics, I think it's a guy named Azazel, but it works as a nod for X-Men fans.
I played and loved all of these games as a kid except Thor, which I'm happy about, and Green Lantern, which is a shame because I was a big GL fan and I know I would've looked over it's flaws. That movie honestly felt like an insult though and it was probably the first time I was massively disappointed by a piece of media I was looking forward to, so there's no way I was touching a tie-in to it. The Origins game though was just something else for me I mean I had never seen something so violent or gorry and I loved every second of it. That it starred one of my favorite characters was incredible. I also have a lot of nostalgia for the Ghost Rider game although I'm sure I wouldn't think it holds up nearly as well as Wolverine. Still I had a lot of appreciation for the character from old issues I found of the 90's Midnight Sons era comics, which I'm sure has a lot to do with why I loved the movie and game, and thought things like a skin of Vengence was awesome.
More please!!! Especially if we’re talking, heavenly sword, clash of the titans, and Beowulf. For whatever reason I could never beat the final boss in heavenly sword and I tried many times as a kid.
XMen Origins: Wolverine was actually supposed to be a standalone game on its own. Not a tie in game. However, they had to which is why the main story revolves around sentinels however, there are the movie elements pushed into it. Which feels off at times. So, ya, that's why it's a cut above the rest due to this simple fact.
"X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE: THE GAME" is truly what a Wolverine game should be. The excessive gore and violence fit the character and should be present. I hope Insomniac doesn't drop the ball with their Wolverine game.
There is one other GOW esque licensed superhero movie game left out in this video: Hellboy The Science Of Evil. It was released around the same time as the second movie (which is a great film btw) and wasn't very good. But they did get the cast from the film back, this is sadly the closest we have gotten to a Hellboy 3. Oh yeah, and the PSP version of the game is similar but also different (and slightly better imo).
I was wondering about the Green Lantern game being a God of War clone. Then I realized I was thinking of the Metroidvania Wii version. Real easy game but still had fun with it
I would love to see a predator game made in the same vein as wolverine origin and ninja gaiden, taking some of the good elements of concrete jungle as well
The only flaw with the Wolverine game is the impossible qte finisher in the sentinel boss fight. They didn't play test that at all. I got so far in the game just to stop playing it right there. Couldn't get beyond that and it was the only thing stopping me from beating the game. And I unlocked all the costumes in those challenging mirror matches.
The best superhero games are X-Men Origins Wolverine the Uncaged Edition. Hulk Ultimate Destruction. Ghost Rider. The Punisher. Spiderman insomniac. And The Batman Arkham Games. Origins, Asylum,City, and Knight.
Green Lantern really needs his own game The concept of simply manifesting weapons and shit into existence with space magic could give us so much fun gameplay
i think greenlantern itself needs a reboot, its a good cncept plagued with subpar media lately, and the one good cartoon they had in recent years got cancelled
I remember watching Ghost Rider whilst I was at my best friend's house back in I think early 2008. It was stupid, but the kind of stupid we both enjoy immensely.
The ghost rider one was one of the first games I ever bought for the ps2 I used to love it, and I still think it was decent for the time, but when I played god of war I realised how similar it was
I love that line "The only game that stars Nicholas Cage", because Dead by Daylight added him as a straight up playable character this year. Which, if that game actually didn't portray Cage, that means that title goes to DBD now. lol
man, I rewatched Ghost Rider recently and honestly, it's pretty fun. Definitely the "so bad, it's good" category, with some legitimitate awesome moments
You are one of the few besides me to actually cover the Ghost Rider video game and bring up how much it borrows from God of War and Devil May Cry (btw my thoughts on this game and the God of War series have changed since I made my video on it). Spider-Man: Friend or Foe was a game I only played once and that was it. I don't remember much from it. But I heard so many good things about the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game. I need to play it, especially since we're getting that new Wolverine game from Insomniac somewhere in the future. Good job with this video. I've been enjoying your content lately, dude. :)

man ghost rider on ps2 was so fun back in the day. using penance stare on enemies was always so fun.
besides Green Lantern, I grew up with all of these games a little bit
48:20 didn’t stop my parents from getting me the god of war duology for ps3 as a graduation present in 2nd grade elementary school.
Ghost Rider the movie was unironically great! And holy shit, I forgot about the game that I definitely played when I was like 14 🤣
I've only ever played the demo of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the combat felt AMAZINGLY satisfying when I played. Definitely need to check it out.
Blade isn't from Transylvania either, but he's a vampire themed character. Therefore they had him appear in the Transylvania level.
I didn't know that Morbius was from my country! But why is that? We aren't famous for Vampires or blood sucking demons or stuff like that.
@@Safersephiroth777 He’s just greek, I don’t think there’s something more to it than that
@@itsyaboi9950 Okay thanks.
GOW is actually "Rygar The Legendary Adventure" knockoff/Inspired
I actually would like to see a review about gow1, gow2, gow3, seperately or combined, from you. Doing seperately would be best, but it's up to you. You could also go in about Ascension & new Gow as well. Like a proper review, I know you've talked about Kratos' story and all that but that doesn't count as the game review. Or You can say I want to see you go in detail about the gamelplay aspect of those games.
Really love those videos, keep up the great work👍
I'm digging the use of digital film grain to avoid the C-strike.
Also, love the video overall, TBP!
Loved the Ghost Rider game as a kid ( except for the combo shields )
The second one looks much better
for x-men I don't like the name kurt either but it is actually the name of mystique's son, nightcrawler, who inherited her blue skin and john wraiths teleport
Spiderman: Friend or Foe was copying the X-Men: Legends formula
My review of the Ghost Rider movie is that I genuinely cannot remember if I have it or have not seen it.
Same thing and i sadly owned a infamous pirate copy of God of war 2 because in Brazil were sold copies that only reached up to icarus part
@@Eric6761 all my PS2 games were pirated, except for Star Wars episode 3 the video game(which is great) and Grand Turismo 3
@@emilyalucard Oh yeah, i think i remember hearing about that, didn't know they wanted to make him fully playable but i do remember hearing that they wanted good ol' skintbub to be in the story.
Damnit now i wanna see something like that ghost rider game but going in the DMC5 route of having multiple characters.
@@Hatsworthful I would appreciate that too more marvel character action games would make me a happy vampire girl
Blocking in ghost rider helps pick the orbs up fa- oh ya sonuva bitch you got me.
James Arnold Taylor was also the VA for electro in Ultimate Spider-Man
Honestly I love Friend or Foe.
I think I still have my copy of Ghost Rider PS2, it was cool how you could unlock Blade as well.
Finally part two
52:54 This definitely ripped straight from GOW 2 Colossus Battle
I wonder if they got the idea to have the DOFP timeline be the classic movie one from this game. Also Origins wolverine is such a fun game to play with cheats on, seeing hoe much damage could be done to wolverine's body is insane.
I remember on Christmas Day getting the Wii version of the Thor game alongside Mario Galaxy 2. Thor didn’t get played very much to say the least
I like GhostRider but it's obvious that Wolverine origins is the best one.
How to unlock costumes in that game is awesome.
"X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE: THE GAME" is truly what a Wolverine game should be. The excessive gore and violence fit the character and should be present.
I hope Insomniac doesn't drop the ball with their Wolverine game.
Interestingly enough the default game in the 90s would depend on which region you are in. In the west it was 3D platformers but in Japan it was RPGs.
“What was the thought pattern in that?”
I see what you did there
There is one other GOW esque licensed superhero movie game left out in this video: Hellboy The Science Of Evil. It was released around the same time as the second movie (which is a great film btw) and wasn't very good. But they did get the cast from the film back, this is sadly the closest we have gotten to a Hellboy 3. Oh yeah, and the PSP version of the game is similar but also different (and slightly better imo).
insane how the wolverine game is a "knock off" yet its better than all the God Of War games
I'm surprised you haven't included star wars Force Unleashed
Ghost rider and Xmen origins wolverine were my favorites
Friend or foe was really cool but not enough to be a favorite
Rip gambit 😢
The cat, not the movie one
I was wondering about the Green Lantern game being a God of War clone. Then I realized I was thinking of the Metroidvania Wii version. Real easy game but still had fun with it
The PS2 Rygar game is what I feel is obviously the main game that inspired God of War myself.
Bacon has a video on that one as well.
I had the Ghost Rider game for my PS2 and I loved it.
38:38 - Double Helix made Killer Instinct (2013), so no surprise here
The best superhero games are X-Men Origins Wolverine the Uncaged Edition. Hulk Ultimate Destruction. Ghost Rider. The Punisher. Spiderman insomniac. And The Batman Arkham Games. Origins, Asylum,City, and Knight.
Green Lantern really needs his own game
The concept of simply manifesting weapons and shit into existence with space magic could give us so much fun gameplay
i think greenlantern itself needs a reboot, its a good cncept plagued with subpar media lately, and the one good cartoon they had in recent years got cancelled
11:43 the flames are attracted to the barrels... cool
RIP Gambit ;( such a precious kitty
Did not expect to see A Bugs Life
God I heard the first few tones of the Ghost Rider game's soundtrack and hot flooded with memories.
Hey I'm a little late to this video, but I would love a shattered dimensions review from you. It's one of my favorite childhood games
I remember watching Ghost Rider whilst I was at my best friend's house back in I think early 2008. It was stupid, but the kind of stupid we both enjoy immensely.
The Ghost Rider movie was… something… but the game was really fun and awesome imo
"If you want to play, start on Hard."
What a perfect description of Mini Ninjas!
Which, if that game actually didn't portray Cage, that means that title goes to DBD now. lol
16:31 bro who complains about more JAT? JATs awesome
James Arnold Taylor has voiced Spidey before Friend or Foe
I had X Men Orgins Wolverine for PSP…this game was pretty fun
You can play as Blade in the ghostrider game btw
33:41-35:32 Absolute pain
RIP Buddy
The Amazing Spider-Man was pretty solid just beat it last weekend 🤙🏽
I just hope that insomniac can make their own Marvel games universe. After wolverine they can move to Ironman or thor, that'd be dope
Sorry for your loss man
man, I rewatched Ghost Rider recently and honestly, it's pretty fun.
I remember when Deadpool tried to kill himself by pissing off the Hulk. Hulk vaporized him in one punch, but he still regenerated. Same thing with Wolverine
