I finally found this video and quickly reassembled the old window, where the balances had fallen out. Thank you!

After having no idea how to take out my windows that don’t tilt, this video finally showed me how to use these tabs! Thank you! Windows from the early 1980s, I had no idea.

I bought my replacement channel balances from you because of the comprehensiveness and quality of your videos. Following your directions made this a breeze. Thanks!

WOW, after so much struggle, this video helped us through. I kept putting it on pause until we managed each step. Done! Nobody got hurt!

I have watched several of these videos, but this one is by far the best one, both visually and explaining the steps that need to be taken.

Swisco saved my sanity. Got everything I needed to repair the windows in a 1987 house. I kinda feel like Superwoman now. 😂

Thank you for posting this video. I was able to replace the channel balances myself in no time at all. There are several slots in my window frame so I would suggest making note of which slot you're removing the hook from so you place the new hook in the same slot.

My window won’t close all the way and springs back up after replacing - what do you think is the problem?

In my case removing the rubber bumper at the top of the frame made the process way easier. If you have a rubber bumper at the top remove it before removing or installing the channel balance.

Have a video on replacing the take out clip? A thief broke the left side one, forcing our locked window open. If it wasn't for this video, I'd have never known what that part was.

The plastic part on the upper corner of my windows are broke so they don't catch the balance. Any suggestions on that?

I can’t remove the window. There is no room for that. I could change the channel balancer for my window in the previous house, but not this house. All windows are big that couldn’t be out of the frames.

In this video he calls that upper clip "channel attachment"... is that the only name for that?
I need to replace one that apparently broke off.

Usually so! However, since it's riveted on, it's usually easier to replace the whole balance. You can find both the top attachments and balances here - www.swisco.com/cl/Sash-Support-Balances_Hardware
