OK so I got to test drive one of these and was surprised how well I liked most everything about it. I expected the ride to be harsh but I found it very comfortable and even in GT mode was not a problem. It rode so much better than Tesla and even more so the Polestar 2 with its adaptive suspension. What was almost as surprising is the power even in GT mode did not feel unwieldy but rather quite manageable. Not too much but just right to be good fast car. A lot of EV's leave something to be desired at higher speeds but not this one. I even parked the thing back in the lot in GT mode just to see how it did - no problem. Now the only thing I would have to work on are the seats. I found the extra side bolstering to be a little annoying and I am skinny, and as this reviewer suggested the seat could have less of an angle for everyday driving. Love the car but the range makes it easy to turn this trim level down. Seeing it go from 191 miles to 175 after 1 launch doesn't help either lol. I'll keep my GT-line.
How does driving it aggressively reduce the range? Instead of 206 miles will you only get half that if you hoon it around on the street or do you still get close to that with the regen helping?
When people don’t know how a battery works 🤦🏾♂️ will your phone still use the same amount of energy when it’s on sleep mode or when you’re playing a game, while you’re on a FaceTime call, while max brightness?

what do you want? This is a performance car. If you want more battery life, get the RWD wind and you can get over 300 miles. This car is meant for pure raw fun with commuting around town. For long drives, buy a gas car if you want over 400 miiles on one go.
@@IYG-x7c those numbers are not entirely true. You do not get that much range..Always lower. Look at the MPGe for all those cars. It's almost the same. Also this car charges twice as fast as those. Would you want to wait 35 minutes to charge your car from 10% to 80% on a road trip or 18 minutes?
@cyberathlete I've read MachE reviews, they actually got more like 270. I can't rely on chargers outside my home, I've seen how they work. Either they don't work at all or don't charge at full speed. In general I understand that most have less range than advertised, but if this EV6 does closer to 150, it's a disaster. Can't even get to any track with that range lol, just circle around the town
EV are meant to replace ICE cars. It is counter intuitive in my mind to have a performance EV vehicle which is already quick without GT. Performance EV cars should not receive full credit. 200 miles. Wow. Not meant for northern states and countries with 50% capacity reduced.
I actually like that with each mode you get different stages of HP, so if one your feeling like speed racer bam GT or maybe you just wanna cruise on a nice day bam eco mode 😅
So 200 miles of max range equals what amount of usable range? Seeing as EV’s aren’t recommended to be constantly fully drained and charged again to 100%? Is that correct? 10-80% charges in 18 mins if you can find a 350kw charger but what about to 100%?
@@logikgr exactly. If you need range of over 100 miles per trip every time, get something else. Winters you will lose 30%-40% range, I know it because I have an EV6 but we don't need more than 80 miles any given day so it's a non-issue. And you can charge it back up to 80% from 60% in like an hour or so.
Also no one is getting 200 miles in a Lamborghini or Ferrari either if they drive it aggressively and fast. So this is no different but no one bitches at those guys to improve engine efficiency so they can get more mpg. Not one soul has ever asked for better mpg from Lamborghini or Ferrari or Mercedes AMG
"Car will be very very slow in Eco mode with 286 hp " Ha that is already as much as my Hyudai Santa Cruz has and it does not feel that slow. 429 hp would be plenty for me in standard mode so you would not have to push that little boost button except for doing an occasional trick.I wasn't clear what the range would be without using this GT mode ? Also I am not sure any EV will qualify for the $7500 tax break in 2023 as it is split between where the car is manufactured and where the battery materials come from. I am betting the Mustang for example will only qualify for $3750. NIce fun review thanks.
It's been awhile since I've commented on one of the vids apologies but I have been watching. thank you for the review and being thorough. thought it would be the same as GT-Line in terms of interior options but it isn't. that to me is a downside considering all electric but you've got manual seats and tilt/telescoping steering wheel. and this is the highest trim, a bit concerning. Love the car but the range makes it easy to turn this trim level down. Seeing it go from 191 miles to 175 after 1 launch doesn't help either lol. I'll keep my GT-line.
me looking at the tire marks turn one way, and watching sofyan still going straight 😱🤣
Everybody’s trying to copy Honda rims 😂😂😂
How many times would you have to charge this car when driving from NYC to Georgia?
Great! Can't wait for the refresh.
Wish they would do a targa top. Great price and good looking super sized hot hatch.
Great review! Hey Sofeyon, what did you trade the Mach E in for?
How does driving it aggressively reduce the range? Instead of 206 miles will you only get half that if you hoon it around on the street or do you still get close to that with the regen helping?
When people don’t know how a battery works 🤦🏾♂️ will your phone still use the same amount of energy when it’s on sleep mode or when you’re playing a game, while you’re on a FaceTime call, while max brightness?
That's a pretty ignorant question
Great car but needs at least 350 mile range
Yep and child weather destroys range.
Great video I seen one these vehicles yesterday and I didn’t know what I was very cool vehicle…
GOOD TO SEE YOU AND TOMMY did A VIDEO AGAIN ON TFL 👏❤️...HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
I'm such a fan of this car omg
So how is this range of 206 miles figured in what mode ? If you are in Eco during a trip for example would you get more than that even similar to the GT line or what ? These things are starting to come available at only a small premium over the GT line so would like to know more.
200 range.......come on now
what do you want? This is a performance car. If you want more battery life, get the RWD wind and you can get over 300 miles. This car is meant for pure raw fun with commuting around town. For long drives, buy a gas car if you want over 400 miiles on one go.
@@cyberathlete MachE GT performance is rated at 260 and Telsa Y Performance at 300
@@IYG-x7c those numbers are not entirely true.
77.4 kWh is way too small for this performance.
Soyfan sure likes this car! It is his second review on this same model.
I still want a Stinger.
I love this car. i want the wind in glacier.
Fix the range because in places like Michigan 100 percent will be like 140 miles
U r correct
This is not a commuter car if your commute is over 50 miles, one way, in the coldest of winters. This is a fun car and for commutes that are shorter.
@@cyberathleteThis is a car that's useful for about 99% of commutes in the US.
7:32 Almost like a rear strut tower bar to firm up the body.
the body style is beautiful...if only i could afford it, i would buy one
Great review, but I cant understand why you keep saying '"for a Kia". Kia are up there with the best, as I'm sure you'll agree...
Im curious if the suspension has improved from the regular EV6
Yes it has adaptive suspension.
@@yanniobkirk5744 Was the regular EV6 not adaptive?
"Car will be very very slow in Eco mode with 286 hp " Ha that is already as much as my Hyudai Santa Cruz has and it does not feel that slow. 429 hp would be plenty for me in standard mode so you would not have to push that little boost button except for doing an occasional trick.I wasn't clear what the range would be without using this GT mode ? Also I am not sure any EV will qualify for the $7500 tax break in 2023 as it is split between where the car is manufactured and where the battery materials come from. I am betting the Mustang for example will only qualify for $3750. NIce fun review thanks.
Wow, he lists 350kw dc fast charging. When did this car get this upgrade?
It's been awhile since I've commented on one of the vids apologies but I have been watching. thank you for the review and being thorough. thought it would be the same as GT-Line in terms of interior options but it isn't. that to me is a downside considering all electric but you've got manual seats and tilt/telescoping steering wheel. and this is the highest trim, a bit concerning. Guess it makes up for it in power/speed & quick charging.
Seats are real nice
Bro you traded in your Mache GT PE? Can I ask what you traded it in on? I also have the Mach-e GT PE and have thought about trading in for this GT. Thoughts? Car Max only offered $52K I thought they were crazy. Would appreciate a DM if you can, thanks!
How many miles on this tester? That paint is jacked up. All the swirls in and especially the piano black parts. This car needs an serious detail.
Any chance you did any testing in Eco mode to see how many mi/kwh you could get in light driving?
What's the point of that? This is a performance edition, not the eco-miler version.
What did you trade the Mustang in for?
Looks like KIA put a sticker over the original manufacturer on the calipers lol.
Yes, it certainly does have wireless Apple Play or Android Auto, Mine does it just fine. Furthermore, you also understand that the reason it has manual seats is well, because it's the GT model and anything else electric simply robs from the batteries, right? You do understand how that works, right? Ijm actually surprised that KIA put in a sun roof and power windows/locks
Quite disappointed this doesn't have over 300 miles of range
Who would expect this from Kia and what can we expect in the future from Kia?
With the door like that with ice and snow u can't get in the door
Kia had enough of the “it’s still a Kia” jokes, and the EV6 GT proves it.
