It only looks like it’s overheating, it’s because the gauges are calibrated to work on 12v but your regulator is blown so the baseline voltage of the gauges is now higher that 12v, so the needle moves higher by that amount.

Have this overheating issue with my l200 sportero 4m41 engine only happens when going uphill changed the water pump, thermostat and done a coolant flush but the problem still persists i have no idea at this point what the problem might be there are no bubbles or air leaking out into the overflow bottle which has me thinking that it isnt actually overheating but im stumped think I'll have to get one of those gauges a go and see if that tells me a bit more great video thanks for the info

Sounds like you’re in exactly the same position I was!
The gauge was a great install as it gave me a clear reading of the exact temperature. Definitely worth it as the original gauge is not good.
Thanks for the comment. Let us know how it goes! 👍

Check your viscous fan clutch, if you still have a belt driven fan.
They do die at some point.

@@steveveness3829 is there a way to test if its on the way out ? I just spin it and it feels stiff so i assumed it's good but that might be the issue as someone else mentioned that to me just today as well

@@EmmanuelSammy after 43yrs trade life I kinda have a feel for how much resistance there sould be spinning it forward and backwards.
Along with the sound they make when engine is running, the noise level changes when the bimetal strip expands inside.
      The fan becomes louder.
If the sound doesn't change with engine temperature then replace it, especially if it's origine to the date of manufacture.
In Australia we can spent almost 200 dollars for Dayco replacements.
Cheaper than blowing up a 4m40 by far.😉

This vid didn't solve my overheating problem. No Jono last week so in preparation for an appearance of the next James Bond this week, I treated myself to a tub of goose fat and aloe vera tissues, but alas no. My warming man pods will have to stay full and hope Jono appears next week.

Oh no, sorry for the tease. It’s Nathan here replying for dad since he has a sore wrist. I think you can get the idea since it’s his right.
I’ll make sure he makes an appearance in the next video.

    Hi
At 3:21 u show us the temp gauge of murduc , telling you it's exactly how was my gauge showed on my stalen truck , I mean it's more than fine coolant temp u can get in any vehicle , it shows that it's under middle I guess so it's very good temp , & i get this temp without replacinging any of what u said u replace , I only blocked that gap between the radiator and the radiator frame using a fome hose that used at the home ac , I send u some photos on your mail go recheck it .
And it's will be great if u show us the installation of that temp gauge.

Thanks Khangar! That’s some great advice. I’ll be sure to fill the radiator gap and do a walk round/ explanation of the gauge install. 👍
