I have been Catholic for 12 years, converting from Protestantism, and I still feel like a newbie! There is so much to learn. I did have very good teaching in my RCIA class. But the Catholic Church is under attack so much these days I need to learn as much as I can to be able to defend my faith! Especially from Protestants!

So, if I have good understand the protestants/Evangelicals, to be a Christian (I mean like them) I have to reject my baptismal promises and get baptized again! Then, I must reject the Saints, the apostles, the doctors of the Church, the Cross and even our Holy Mother Mary and the teachings of the GOSPEL too. Then I will be “born again” and my place in heaven will be assured by my pastor, whatever I do in my life. That's right ?? ah yes, I forgot: on Sunday, instead of going to celebrate the body and blood of Christ, I will go to a pop-rock concert, I will dance with my arms in the air and I will call it the " christian worship ".

    Matt 7: 18-23
A sound tree cannot bear bad fruit, any more than a decayed tree can bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cit down and thrown into the fire.
    John 15: 1-6
"I am the true vine...and you are the branches. Every branch that does not bear fruit, He prunes, that it may bear fruit...If a man does not abide in Me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers, and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned.
How does one bear good fruit without good works ?? (feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick etc. Matt 5).

There are many Catholics who are passionate and devout to the Ark that was built to carry us over this world’s destruction, yet - are void of true love for God. Just as many Jews loved the Temple and spoke Truth, yet were void of Spirit.
There are many Protestant descendants who are adrift in the life rafts that once departed the Ark in mutiny. Though absent of the Ark’s provisions and protection, they sail steadily nearby and follow its course. Many of these, while void of the full tradition, are rich in faith … for they face the turbulent seas blindly trusting in God alone to keep them afloat and carry them safely home.
In both the Ark and the rafts, there are clean animals and unclean. When the journey ends, only the clean are acceptable sacrifices unto God.
A Catholic or Protestant who loves God will be filled with His Spirit and exhibit the fruits of eternal life.
And for those who adore the gift yet despise the Giver: these, according to Jesus own words, will be surprised when they stand before Him to hear that they neither knew nor loved Him.

      @@EPH113 Let’s look at that verse in context;
“Then someone came to him and said, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is one who is good. If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and mother. Also, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The young man said to him, “I have kept all these; what do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this word, he went away grieving, for he had many possessions. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astounded and said, “Then who can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” Then Peter said in reply, “Look, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man is seated on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my name’s sake will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭16‬-‭30
This command was given to a young man who was fairly wealthy. “It will be hard for a rich man to enter heaven” but not impossible. I am far from rich and we are only made perfect through Christ.
To “attain” salvation? No. To attain Salvation, we must believe in the life, death, and Resurrection of Christ, repent of our sins, be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and receive His Body and Blood in the Eucharist. To retain Salvation, we must follow Christ’s commandments and remain in a state of Grace. If we fall into mortal sin, then we must confess our sins.
What day if the week do you worship?

@@EPH113 we do not follow the commandments to be saved. We are saved by grace through faith not of our own works luke it says in Ephesians 2:8. But we are not saved by faith alone. I am 100% sure that the impact would be colossal! I would love to assist for free if I could only help to make it happen! this way, you'd be able to massively counter the effects that most of the slandering Protestants impart on so many people leading them astray! Nero didn't fulfill the prophecy to destroy the temple.
All has been fulfilled. Christ returned, judged, redeemed, condemned, removed the tares from His society, and instructed how to keep it so.
He destroyed "heaven and earth" / the temple, stopped the ieuds antiChrist kingdom, established the new heaven and earth, brought the New Jerusalem from heaven, setting it on the river Tiber.
Also, "all the world" / His society had received the Gospel prior to the closing of the canon. Once you understand the meanings of the words, idiomatic terms, and especially the confusing last word added to the Holy Bible in the 18th century, you see Christ kept His promises, and what is expected of us.

We do quote the teachings of jesus alone, which is why we quote Catholic teaching. We always quote the scriptures in our videos, as you know. So we do both. Why not do both?
There are 2 reasons we quote the earliest Christians and Catholic sources so often. First, because protestants don't actually know what Catholics believe, and so we have to teach them. Second, the reason we quote the earliest Christian so often is because they were the one who knew Jesus and the apostles and how to interpret scripture correctly. As opposed to today, where everyone goes by the scriptures alone. But no one can agree on what they mean. Jesus said confusion is from the devil, and protestantism is confusion to the max. Just a thought.
Lastly, karma, we will admit that the way that came across silence. Bad from the outside but we did not mean in any pride in any way, only trying to communicate the truth that all of his arguments were just terrible and slander and lies about the Catholic Church and needed to be dealt with strongly.

What's up! I need help. I was an atheist for 7 years, and I converted to Christianity some weeks ago. I'm trying to figure out which is the true denomination, and I've been reading some books and watching some debates. I began with a certain degree of suspicion about the Catholic Church because of the attacks I heard from other sides. But when I began to hear the Catholic perspective, I realized that the objections can be divided into (a) strawmans, (b) misunderstanding the Church doctrines, and (c) questions so complex that they need a lot of deep studying to come to an understanding, such as the question of Mary, on which I don't have any position right now about who is right in this fight. So, I've ever heard objections about two historical issues: the inquisition (which I know is false; the Church didn't do a massacre as they claim), the agreements between the Church and the Nazi Party (which I suspect may be a false claim as well), and the agreements between the Church and Facists in Italy. So, I need help with these two issues: the Catholic and the Nazi and Facist. Can you answer or recommend books (or any good materials) to deal with these issues?
I'm not a native speaker. If I wrote something bad, unpolite, or strange, excuse me. It was not my intention. I appreciate your attention.

I'd love to know what your thoughts are on repentance. Is repentance, or turning from sin considered works in catholicism? How does it differ from penance and would it also be the equivalent to keeping the commandments being that sin according to scripture is the transgression of the law, thus wouldn't turning from sin mean turning from transgressing the law and therefore be the same as keeping the law?

Protestants says: "By Grace alone": But Jesus asks us for works too : He himself shows the example to the apostles and asks them to do the same (Gospel of John, chapter 13)
Protestants says: "Sola Scriptura". But the Scriptures themselves says: "Faith, Hope and Charity”

EPH - We are all sinners who have sinned against God, and so how can we be saved?. Our sin separates us from God. We can't save ourselves or earn our own salvation. It's a free gift of God. Jesus came to save us by dying on the cross and shedding his body and blood for us, to redeem us, and reconcile us back to God.
This saving grace of Jesus is offered to us freely, and we are saved by grace alone (Acts 15:11). We must turn away from our sins and repent (Acts 2:38), believe completely in Jesus (faith), and be baptized (Jn 3:5. Mk. 16:16, Acts. 2:38).
Finally we must live out that faith and live for Christ in obedience and following the commandments. (Mt. 28:19, Mt. 19:16-22, Lk. 6:46, Jn. 14:15, etc). Good works dont save us and cant save us but are necessary for a true faith to save.
So, if we have faith, live out that faith bear good fruit, follow the Commandments and stay faithful to the end, we will be saved eternally. (Mt. 24:11-13, Rev. 2:4-7, 10, 19-26, Rom. 11:16-22). This is all by His grace, not of ourselves.

"Faith, Hope and Charity” they are all graces Paul calls them virtues with Love (charity the greatest)
Section 1996 of the Catechism says:
Our justification comes from the grace of God. Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life. (Jn 4:14; 7:38-39.)
      Sections 161-162 the Catechism says:
      (161) "Believing in Jesus Christ and in the One who sent him for our salvation is necessary for obtaining that salvation ...therefore without faith no one has ever attained justification...(162) Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to man...
The Catechism also talks about our response to faith, (sections 161-162 and 1997-2000) which is to go out into the world and do as Jesus would have us do. Which is what we call Charity🤔🤔

@@CatholicTruthOfficial Thanks for your inquiry. I went through the vid again and listed 11 things that are problematic as far as differing with scripture. I accept that you're being honest about your claims except on the topic of salvation by faith. The claim is made that you share the same belief but you won't say it's by "faith without works" because you actually believe in progressive righteousness. This is a performance based relationship with God which is not what i see in scripture. God is not pleased by mixture. This is evident even in the OT. Biblical faith confesses that Christ has done all. He not only paid for all my sin, but He kept the law perfectly for me so that God only sees that perfection and not all my ugly. I know that's hard to get. It seems outrageous, but Heb4 asks if we have entered into God's rest? Have i truly rested from my works as God did from His? As Paul asked in Gal. 3:3...Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? To "walk" after the Spirit and not after the flesh, means to give up striving to gain anything from God through my effort (even "aided" by grace). What does a branch do to produce fruit? Nothing except receive from the vine. Right now, I am as perfect before God as i will ever be. I know that totally flies in the face of religion, because it's really the opposite of it.
The reason i question your honesty in this is bc you realize that the RCC does not admit that one can know that they truly have eternal life bc they claim that one can only know after the judgement bc it depends on how well you did. So according to church dogma it's really not by faith alone and not a completely free gift and that's why you avoid saying that. But in several places Jesus says without any condition that he who believes on Him (trusts what He said) has eternal life period. So i think you have people confused on this, although you know that's what Rome officially says.
There are other lesser quibbles like infallability, baptismal regeneration, contacting spirits of those passed on, perfection of Mary, no rapture, what faith is, purpose of treasury of merit, that we could go on and on, but thanks for asking!

      Let’s look at that verse in context;
Have you sold all your possessions?
To attain Salvation, we must believe in the life, death, and Resurrection of Christ, repent of our sins, be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and receive His Body and Blood in the Eucharist. To retain Salvation, we must follow Christ’s commandments and remain in a state of Grace. If we fall into mortal sin, then we must confess our sins.

Regarding the issue of Godparents, Godparents are ideally preferred to be Catholic. It's permitted that one godparent is Catholic whilst the other nominated person who has to at least be a participating member of another Christian denomination will be listed as "Witness", one male and one female should be chosen. In the event where multiple people are chosen only two (providing they're all Catholic are who are chosen) will be listed as Godfather and Godmother and the rest are listed as Witness. Generally Priests would much rather know the people but let's be honest especially in small towns in Australia and the upcoming generation most only come to mass at Christmas and Easter. Where I live there's listed 3000 Catholics yet over the weekend we only get about 150-200 all up, Sometimes not even that.
