“IF” you have not already, please consider going to Adoration of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament (also known as “Holy Hour”). Call your local parish and find out when they offer it. Then, just go and sit in silence in Christ’s Presence. Take your bible. Read scripture, pray, contemplate. Tell the Lord of your search for truth, of your doubts, worries, even fears. Then, be as patient with Him as He has been with you. When you receive the grace to know that HE IS THERE, you will be forever changed. Miracles occur in Christ’s presence - of that I can personally attest.
Thank you Bryan for your enthusiasm and love for the Catholic Church. Your videos are inspiring. I’m leaving Protestantism and looking to be confirmed in the Catholic Church Easter 2025. Please pray for myself and my family.
I am an ex Lutheran too. Ivwas a child at age 10 who was baptized.with my parents becoming a Lutheran. I was learning about God and God's laws from my catholic neighborhood children I played with after school. Confirmation classes were difficult for me because I had to write more than one report disliking Catholics and Catholicism which in my heart was wrong just yo become a Lutheran. I feel I only went thru Confirmation to make my Grandfather happy. I knew someday I wanted to search out becomingva Catholic and I did. Iblove being a catholic. Congratulations! Many Many years of happy joy to you!
Here why I love our converts: Steve Ray gave credit to his Protestant mentors for leading him to Our Lord. He does not speak disparagingly of his pre-Catholic past.
I am a convert. You don't have to put down our Protestant pasts and be acidic in our words like we hear others speak towards us now. All so unnecessary. Christians against Christians is a dumb fight in my opinion. I will fight for my catholic faith however!!! You betcha!
I do wish and pray that more Christians of all persuasions would read and absorb John 17:21 May they all be one so the world will see that Jesus is sent by the Father.

I am a cradle Catholic and was educated in Catholic School from K - H.S. Since watching conversion videos, I have learned so much more about Catholicism and I just want to thank you both for your insight, sharing your knowledge and furthering mine. Thank you!
I was baptized Lutheran, raised by a mom who was baptized Baptist, and have sung in a Catholic choir for almost a decade. My conversion to the one True faith began when I prayed for the Lord to protect and guide a friend who was convicted of a federal felony c. 2018. Almost 4 years later, my friend is released on probation and is getting his life back on track. That miracle opened my heart to the Lord and last year I started to truly study the faith. And at Pentecost this year the plan as proposed by my priest is to have me enter the Church. My last hangup was The Eucharist; as I could not understand the transformation to the Body and Blood of Christ. That changed when I realized that even if I don't see it with my eyes, my heart knows that the transformation has taken place.
Beautifully said and it will also grow bigger and bigger in your heart as it knows it is the true body and blood of Jesus Christ!God Bless You and Congratulations!
Nothing is impossible with God, He can turn stone to anything, much more the bread into HIS BODY and Blood. God only wants the priest to pray the consecration prayer and we need to believe Jesus turns it to HIS BODY because HE said so in the Bible.
Think of the Actual Miraculous Change the way you ALREADY as a non-Catholic believed that during a proper wedding ceremony the two people actually and miraculously change - even though we can't see that change!!! So for beginners I just think that you "already believe" in the concept - just add the Eucharist to how think about marriage!
I converted last year from methodism. Been obsessed with apologetics for 10 years. I listened to a wide range of pastors and ive been to almost every single mainline Protestant denomination for study purposes. None of them are even close to catholicism in any meaningful category. I hope someone debates jeff durbin soon. He’s becoming the calvinist ray comfort.
@@lettersandwordsandstuffs yeah like when the protestants removed the dueterocanon? Quick google search results…. Why was the Apocrypha removed in 1885? It’s amazing the perspective you have when you look back at Protestant sermons. I’ve recently come back home to the Catholic Church and realized that there is still so much more to learn
Congratulations, gentlemen: you get it! Saint Augustine said it best: 'When you crown our merits, you crown your own gifts'. Holiness is the supreme Gift of God - in that sense, yes: we ARE saved by Grace alone!
I had a protestant minister recomend a book called upon this slippery rock, answering Steves book Upon this rock. I read Upon This Rock, then Upon this slippery rock, then a response to the secodnd one called Upon this not so slippery rock. I later found out after our next meeting when addressing the claims of the book he suggested that he himself had actually not read any of them. Im Catholic now.
That is what we've been saying for so long. How absolutely blind, hard-hearted, stubborn, and not open to truth so many Protestant pastors and influencers are. It's actually scary how much they are used by the devil. And they think they're serving God.
I love my Protestant friends. But it’s so sad that they don’t understand Christianity some of the things they say. When they say I Prefer a Christian church not a Catholic Church or I don’t kneel. Like what please pray for there souls
I have these Arguments with friends all the time they go nowhere. God want us to win souls not arguments. If we can’t stand together here on earth as brothers and sisters in Christ. What makes us think we can stand together in heaven. The evil one probably sits back and laughs at us. I love all my fellow Protestant friends we are all Christians.
@@biglargo82 Like I wrote in my comment below Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” “In no one else” means Jesus alone. @@EddyRobichaudYou are basically in agreement with Catholics that Jesus died for us so that we can have life and that faith alone just acknowledging Jesus as the demons do won’t save us without the good works like James tells us as they are inseparable like the body and soul.
It’s interesting that you point this out as I never noticed that Protestants use the Latin to give themselves titles and praise like the Pharisees like the did while Catholics use the Latin to better describe things and offer more insight.
letters, all the books that are in the Bible are the ones that are supposed to be in the Bible. All the other ones were not inspired Scripture or were just heresy.
In my humble opinion and limited Latin scholarship 5 Solas are a contradiction. It's like saying my sandwich is bread alone, and ham alone, and cheese alone, and lettuce alone, and mayo alone. Sola means alone, or one thing. 5 things cannot be alone.
21:50 How do ppl believe they are one and done saved? And so, my most beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but even more so now in my absence: work toward your salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12
Protestantism is a man-made religion invented by Martin Luther in order to solve his psychological problem of constant guilt. He rejected the Church established by Christ, and replaced it with the idea that each man interprets the Bible himself. In order to justify this unBiblical concept Luther claimed that his inner experience of "the spirit" is the authority that makes his understanding of the Bible authoritative. The problem arises in that each man then makes the same claim and then demands that his own personal understanding of the Bible is more authoritative than the next man's understanding. Thus, instead of eliminating the papacy, he shattered the role into a million pieces in which each man becomes his own individual Pope and Biblical authority unto himself.
Excellent conversation! Do Protestants comprehend that Jesus prayed before dying that they all be one (John 17)? Do Protestants understand that one reason for unbelievers is they see this division which implies that there isn’t One Truth?
I decided to check the claim that Constatine poured paganism into the Christian faith. I already read Ecclesiastical History by Sozomen, and I've been reading The Life of Constantine by Eusebius of Cæsarea. I didn't find anything like the Protestant claim. On the contrary, Constatine did forbid everything pagan from his empire: festivals, images, and buildings. He forbade worshiping other gods other than the true God. Of course, there are a lot of other sources I'll read in order to get a better conclusion, but up to now, I didn't find the Protestant claim in the sources.
Love this! I love all the enthusiasm Catholics have to know all the converts out there. (And we know, you know) I say I am a convert in every Catholic circle every chance I get. I get so much love, you know.
The reason Martin Luther did not include obedience in his doctrine of salvation is because his life was marked by disobedience. Luther broke his triple vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience that he made to God when he was ordained as a Catholic priest years earlier.
Great video. Awesome and an amazing explanations, at length. As Catholic, I salute to both of you, Brian & Steve. Where were you, protestants prior to the 16 centuries? Which suddently popped out from nowhere. I guess, if it not because, of Martin Luther, there wouldn't be thousands of Christian denominations today. I believe it would only be the one and only Christian religion today, which is catholic.
Lol. Protestant say thank you God for Martin Luther and yet they're not even lutheran. It just shows that they don't really believe luther. It's just an excuse not to be catholic. Also the Catholic church is a universal church not just a western church. And Martin Luther didn't actually reform anything. He just created heresies and destroyed the body of Christ creating hundreds of thousands of different theologies and tens of thousands of different denominations. Luther even regretted it all by the end of his life and said we would have to go back to the Catholic Church councils to get it all figured out.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial " Luther even regretted it all by the end of his life and said we would have to go back to the Catholic Church councils to get it all figured out." I'm a confessional lutheran and I have never heard that Luther said this, can you give me a quote where this is from?
If you attempt to find the canon for Protestants you can't find one. There are a few Churches that have declared a list. But anyone else can agree with this list or simply form their own. Unlike Catholics where you can find a canon, date and a who or where. The final _official_ canon is the one Protestants will point to and claim it is very late. The Council of Trent. Yet it is recorded, dated and complete. This same thing cannot be found for Protestants, and most would even claim it is not needed as Sacred Scripture is self-defining. So, while Catholics have a _late_ Canon...Protestants don't have any canon. I have also noticed that the names of the Gospels are Tradition, we don't know who wrote them by only the Bible. Two of them aren't even Apostles. Why accept any of the Gospels?
Great video. It seems that the definition of Faith that is incorrectly accepted by some is "just believe" . The Catholic definition of Faith may be: the active acceptance of everything that God has taught and put inside of us.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial You're very welcome! It'll be four year this Sept 26 that I was received into the Church after having spent about ten years in no-mans land.
Not exactly. We are saved by a working obedient faith that lives itself out in obedience to God and love for him. The Bible doesn't condemns faith alone which is why the Catholic Church does.
The Bible is God-breathed, there is no higher authority than the Word of God. The council of Trent says that faith and good works are necessary to obtain justification and the Protestants are anathema because they chose to believe the Bible instead of Trent.
"Solo Mio" the sing is not alone. It means My Sun. Solo is this case means Sun and mio means mine. The song is talking about a woman he is in live with and when he sees her face he sees the sun.

Hello good morning from here, glad to heard from u today thank you a lot for this vidio ,GBU always Bryan 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤protestans just believe sola scriptura but it so weird coz advent sect believe Michael is the other name of Jesus Christ and then not write in bible alone
Someone wrote that Jesus never gone in a church. But, to me, He himself consecrated the first Church (building) in history: the house where the Last Supper took place! Where the first EUCHARIST was celebrated by Jesus himself. Where the first priests in History were consecrated (the Apostles). Moreover, very quickly this house which according to tradition belonged to a relative of SAINT-MARC was transformed into a Church and still exists today and everyone can visit it. May God bless you and keep you!
I’ve always wondered about Having more than one sola. By definition solely means on its own. So what is it faith alone, in that case why do you need scripture and vice verse?
15:00 inspired me to this: The Five Catholic Solas: Scripture alone; as discerned and derived from Tradition by the Magisterium. Grace alone; grown and increased by our cooperation. Faith alone; knowing that our obedience will be rewarded through His grace. Christ alone; through His Body and Bride the Church. Glory to God alone; that we might share in that glory.
One problem for anyone who is Christian is falling into the trap of worshiping the Jesus of our imaginations which is another form of idolatry. It seems to me that sola scriptura or sola fida is trying bottle up Jesus and restrict Him to your way of thinking which is spiritual laziness.
That's a whole different context in Isaiah talking about evil people in israel. But our own good works could be considered trash as well. The good works God is talking about are those done in faith by his grace and out of love for him. They are God born instead of self-born.
Grace is something we receive but don't deserve. Mercy is something we don't receive that we deserve. Through grace we received salvation. Through mercy we didn't receive the punishment that Jesus took for us.
Can someone advise me as to whether I should send this link to a friend who is stoic in their Protestantism, and won't even discuss the blessed Mother. I wonder how to evangelize correctly, it could put them back if it's seems harsh in their eye's. What is the best way gently or straight to the point, they may not listen at the first mention of protestant incorrect teaching ?
give him this All Marian Doctrines are based on solid, not loose, Scriptural grounds; some of the understanding of which is blocked by the hardness of our hearts, how could we remain blind to the relation of the Assumption of Mary to the Ascension of The Lord Jesus? How could we error in believing in The Immaculate Conception of The Lord Jesus but deny the same of His own Mother? Especially, when the messenger Angel Gabriel who stood before the throne of The Most High God calls her "Full of Grace", how do we depreciate what God has spoken? As He has spoken so it has been written, in the Scriptures, in the hearts of all mankind, that we are to call her: Blessed! Mother! please pray for us! As our Mother she herself tells us to do this in the Scriptures...what scripture do you read that tells you that if Mary pleads for you as her son which you are, that the Triune all loving and all Merciful God will shun her? Where have you people gotten these ideas? Most of them were unheard of until, who came along? Was it a new prophet foretold of in Scripture? Luther? William of Orange? You or I as long as we claim sola scriptura?😃😃 Martin Luther Christ, our Savior, was the real and natural fruit of Mary's virginal womb . . . This was without the cooperation of a man, and she remained a virgin after that. Christ . . . was the only Son of Mary, and the Virgin Mary bore no children besides Him . . . I am inclined to agree with those who declare that 'brothers' really mean 'cousins' here, for Holy Writ and the Jews always call cousins brothers. A new lie about me is being circulated. I am supposed to have preached and written that Mary, the mother of God, was not a virgin either before or after the birth of Christ . . . Scripture does not say or indicate that she later lost her virginity . . . When Matthew [1:25] says that Joseph did not know Mary carnally until she had brought forth her son, it does not follow that he knew her subsequently; on the contrary, it means that he never did know her . . . This babble . . . is without justification . . . he has neither noticed nor paid any attention to either Scripture or the common idiom. Because Jesus is the Davidic King, Jesus elevates His Mother as Queen of Heaven (Rev 12) just as the Queen-Mother was highly exalted and given a prominent place in the OT (1 Kings 2). Even Martin Luther preached after his break with Rome on the Feast of the Visitation (July 2, 1532) -- "She, the Lady above heaven and earth, must have a heart so humble that she might have no shame in washing the swaddling clothes or preparing a bath for St. John the Baptist, like a servant girl. What humility! It would surely have been more just to have arranged for her a golden coach, pulled by 4,000 horses, and to cry and proclaim as the carriage proceeded: 'Here passes the woman who is raised FAR ABOVE all women, indeed above the WHOLE human race.'" Five years later, preaching on the same feast day, Luther said -- "She was not filled with pride by this praise...this immense praise: 'No woman is like unto thee! Thou art more than an EMPRESS or a QUEEN....blessed above all nobility, wisdom, or saintliness!'" (LUTHER'S WORKS 36:208; 45:107 as cited in REFUTING THE ATTACK ON MARY by Fr. Mateo available from Catholic Answers) Heinrich Bullinger, Cranmer's brother-in-law, Zwingli's successor said: "What pre-eminence in the eyes of God the Virgin Mary had on account of her piety, her faith, her purity, her saintliness and all her virtues, so that she can hardly be compared with any of the other saints, but should by rights be rather elevated above all of them..." French Reformed pastor Charles Drelincourt said in the 17th century -- "We do not simply believe that God has favoured the holy and blessed Virgin more than all the Patriarchs and the Prophets, but also that He has exalted her above all Seraphim. The angels can only qualify as servants of the Son of God, the creatures and workmanship of his hands; but the holy Virgin is not only the servant and the creature but also the Mother of this great and living God." (from MARY, MOTHER OF ALL CHRISTIANS [p. 89] by Calvinist theologian Max Thurian who later converted to the Catholic faith) The titles of "Mediatrix" or "Co-Redemptrix" for Mary have not been officially defined so those dates are wrong. They do reflect the Marian piety and devotion of many great Popes, Saints, and Doctors of the Church John Calvin Helvidius displayed excessive ignorance in concluding that Mary must have had many sons, because Christ's 'brothers' are sometimes mentioned. [On Matt 1:25:] The inference he [Helvidius] drew from it was, that Mary remained a virgin no longer than till her first birth, and that afterwards she had other children by her husband . . . No just and well-grounded inference can be drawn from these words . . . as to what took place after the birth of Christ. He is called 'first-born'; but it is for the sole purpose of informing us that he was born of a virgin . . . What took place afterwards the historian does not inform us . . . No man will obstinately keep up the argument, except from an extreme fondness for disputation. Under the word 'brethren' the Hebrews include all cousins and other relations, whatever may be the degree of affinity. Huldreich Zwingli He turns, in September 1522, to a lyrical defense of the perpetual virginity of the mother of Christ . . . To deny that Mary remained 'inviolata' before, during and after the birth of her Son, was to doubt the omnipotence of God . . . and it was right and profitable to repeat the angelic greeting - not prayer - 'Hail Mary' . . . God esteemed Mary above all creatures, including the saints and angels - it was her purity, innocence and invincible faith that mankind must follow. Prayer, however, must be . . . to God alone . . . 'Fidei expositio,' the last pamphlet from his pen . . . There is a special insistence upon the perpetual virginity of Mary. Zwingli had printed in 1524 a sermon on 'Mary, ever virgin, mother of God.' I have never thought, still less taught, or declared publicly, anything concerning the subject of the ever Virgin Mary, Mother of our salvation, which could be considered dishonourable, impious, unworthy or evil . . . I believe with all my heart according to the word of holy gospel that this pure virgin bore for us the Son of God and that she remained, in the birth and after it, a pure and unsullied virgin, for eternity. Heinrich Bullinger Bullinger (d. 1575) . . . defends Mary's perpetual virginity . . . and inveighs against the false Christians who defraud her of her rightful praise: 'In Mary everything is extraordinary and all the more glorious as it has sprung from pure faith and burning love of God.' She is 'the most unique and the noblest member' of the Christian community . . . 'The Virgin Mary . . . completely sanctified by the grace and blood of her only Son and abundantly endowed by the gift of the Holy Spirit and preferred to all . . . now lives happily with Christ in heaven and is called and remains ever-Virgin and Mother of God.' John Wesley (Founder of Methodism) I believe... he [Jesus Christ] was born of the blessed Virgin, who, as well after as she brought him forth, continued a pure and unspotted virgin.
I agree with what Steve says about the most educated in the faith Protestants converting to Catholicism and the least knowledgeable catholics open to converting to Protestantism.
There's no such thing as being saved. Steve would tell you there's no such thing as a one-time saving moment that automatically allows you to go to heaven. Unless you're on your deathbed.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial So what your saying is 1 Peter 3:21 means is Baptism only saves until you commit your first mortal sin. Let me rephrase my question. Was Steve Ray in the state of grace right before he converted to Catholicism? Because if that is the case, I can know I am also in the state of Grace. I can be in the state of justification without the Catholic Sacraments, just like Steve and Steve's father. As a Protestant I Love Jesus and also Steve Ray loved Jesus when he was a Protestant. So even believing in the 5 solas will not keep you out of heaven. Maybe Pope Francis does not evangelize Protestants because there is no need to. So why do you feel the need to?
Faith and baptism are what lead to initial justification. So Christ justifies us and removes our sin, makes us children of God, and fills us with the Holy Spirit. But if we do serious and against him, then we can be cut off as the Bible says. It's funny how you were trying to use every argument and find every loophole and find every tiny little thing possible to not become Catholic even though you know in your heart that it's true. I know you want to stay Protestant and be in a supposed state of grace, but Jesus started a church and the Protestant Baptist Church is not it. I'm glad you love Jesus. We have that in common. We just pray that you come to love his church also which is his bride. The Catholic Church teaches that we need to evangelize the world. In fact the Bible says we need to also. Why wouldn't we want Protestants to come home to the fullness of faith. All the Protestants that have are overjoyed and are so glad that they did.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial The catholic Church won't let me be Catholic because it is required to accepts all that the Church teaches and i can't do that. For example I can't except the Church teaching on Holy days of obligation. That teaching makes God not just. Why is it a matter of heaven or hell for most of the northeast to attend mass on May 9, but for the rest of the country it is not? This proves missing Holy days of obligation is not a mortal sin, not bound in heaven. Even Fr Samuel Keyes would agree this teaching is problematic. Go read the his article: Is the Ascension a Holy Day Of Obligation? Does Keeping the Commandments of God determined by the state you live in? BTW Hawaii only has 2 days of obligation, a better state to live in for the unfaithful. If a mortal sin could be changed to no sin at all, how is that a grave sin in first place? I wish just one Catholic apologist will admit this teaching is not right, will you be the first one Bryan? And if you do not admit the Catholic Church is wrong about this teaching, then you have to believe possibly millions of Catholics who don't attend these obligations will die in their sins. I was just talking to a 70 year old Catholic man and asked if he was going to the obligation on May 9, it was the first he knew about. He said he didn't believe the mortal/ venial sin. I guess from now on he can't claim invincible ignorance.
Jesus did good works. He choose the apostles that’s good works. He gave us the Gospel that’s good work. He suffered and carried the heavy cross that’s good works and so much more Jesus did good works. Now that’s not by faith alone.
1. If your religion exists solely for the purpose of defeating Catholics, it cannot be considered “Christ like.” 2. If you don’t believe in works, then how does cornering a Catholic by yelling, getting emotional and using selective scriptural quotes please God? By doing these things, who are you trying to carry favor with? Your pastor? God? Yourself? Whose attention do you hope to garner by doing this? Aren’t you trying to earn your way into heaven by converting Catholics? How is that not “works”? Focus on your salvation and seek the truth.
We're all given free will by God, (choice) if we decide to leave the faith, we should not blame anyone but ourselves for doing so.. Adam left God, then blamed him for his own fall, complaining about, "the woman that you gave me Lord!"..

Hello Sir Bryan, can you watch this UA-cam video titled, " Catholic Man Asks Christian Pastor About Salvation, Then THIS Happens..." By The Gospel of Christ? Thank u
Underlying almost all of Paul's epistles is the great work that Christ revealed in John 6:29: believe in those people sent by heaven. "Apostle" is Greek for 'sent.' If you don't believe in them, you don't believe in Christ. To be sent, one had to be prayed over and had others who had hands laid on them lay hands on you. This is crystal clear in Acts. It's called 'the Apostolic Succession and is one of the Seven Sacraments. No one can go off half-cocked with scriptures under their belt and start contradicting those whom God has sent.
I’m trying to do a little research on the Eastern Orthodoxy, and I’m just wondering if there was a schism in the Orthodoxy that caused the one Orthodox Church to split into the many Churches we see today, or was it something else that happened?
The simplest answer is that the various Orthodox churches are divided by liturgical rite or ethnicity. I do not think that have ever been really united since thwy split from the CatholicChurch. Just like the one Catholic Church is comprised of twenty-four rites, the Latin rite (Roman Catholic) and twenty-three Eastern rites.
Scott Hahn helped me understand eastern orthodoxy in a nutshell. The various orthodox churches are demarcated along ethnic and national lines. The Catholic Church is truly universal, embracing all cultures. Orthodox churches are autocephalous in that they each have their own patriarch, completely independent from each other-a complete contradiction to Catholicism, the one true universal Church. The Pope unites the Catholic Church. Orthodoxy has no one unifying see or patriarch-just like protestantism. Catholic ecumenical councils convene to define doctrine and practice, binding the consciences of all Catholics. Orthodoxy cannot agree on a venue for pan orthodox councils, let alone define and declare any doctrine binding upon all orthodox Christians.
The great schism was in 1054 AD. I also dove deep into Orthodoxy because I refused to consider Catholicism. But I didn’t like their absolute failure to evangelize (at least in America) and the inability to get a solid answer of what they believe. It’s very much a “ask your priest” response. Thank God for the Catechsim!
@@CatholicTruthOfficial I listened as much as my ears could tolerate, but never heard the pure unadulterated Truth other than bits and pieces plastered with the natural man false thinking. What exactly does all this accomplish? Sure, Food fights are fun, but someone has to clean it up and unfortunately it is usually not the ones flinging the food. What a mess!
How is this a mess? We have four videos with steve, and so many people have attributed their conversion to Christ and a Catholicism to him. So it's a complementing two things. One clarifying false Protestant arguments against the Catholic church. And two, what the original biblical truth is. And I guess, three, helping Protestants to find the fullness of christianity.
@CatholicTruthOfficial Just the same as our Congress being a mess. Sure, some will not see it and ask, "How is Congress a mess?" Democrats will jump up and down saying how wrong the Republicans are and that they are living in an upside-down world and vise versa. What good does this do everyone? Should our religion follow the template of this world? Is this world not a mess?

@@CatholicTruthOfficial I understand and totally agree. It's just that near the beginning there are analogies given of glory as concerning glory other things/people so it can't be technically "glory to God 'alone". Or something of that nature. Growing up a calvinist protestant I can tell you that that framing mis represents the position so it doesn't really address the actual argument that the solas attempt to singularize (did I just invent a word?) each of five means grace but only in a salvific context. Not all context. So Sola gratita would be indicating that God alone gets the glory due the salvific work of God not no one ever gets glory for anything but God. I'm sure it's hard to have people scrutinize every nuance of how things are worded when they are said in the moment. I just want to make sure you understand the difference for real in case it wasn't accidental.
Satan and the Fallen Angels probably have more faith than most of us put together but there was a work that they needed to do, but they just couldn't do it, and not wanting to put in the work to be a little humble shows that faith alone couldn't do it. The pre flood people had a massive amounts of faith but they wasn't doing God's will.they we're doing their own will. When Jesus in the New Testament said I never knew you he never knew them because yeah they may have had faith but they never lived a life that bore any good fruit fruit is work Jesus said love thy neighbor as thyself you can't do that if you don't offer help to people in need or do some sort of work it's work the love thy neighbor as thyself that's what, that's what he's talking about plain and simple.❤
Imagine a Protestant church like the Baptist Church I went to early on in life after I got baptized I said thanks I have faith in God now I'll go home and do my own thing since you don't need me here all I need is faith alone this place needs no tithing from me I'm just going to go back home and wait for my reward. I don't know why Protestants have churches anyway it's just faith alone guys faith alone don't pass the basket around I had to work for that money.
Both sides admit that we are saved by grace, through faith. However - after that point - just an observation: a) Protestant Justification saves. Once you belong to Christ, you can never be lost. Sanctification follows, with the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit after baptism, which helps you to live a holy life but should you fall short (which we all do) you are still assured of eternal life. Self-reflection and repentance help us to produce the good fruits of our faith that James 2:24 is referring to. b) Catholics on the other hand have initial justification (at baptism) and then ongoing justification throughout their lives (with the Holy Spirit aiding you) but should you slip up and commit a mortal sin, there is no assurance of being with Christ (ie: if you fail to attend Mass on a Sunday without good reason and die unrepentant you are consigned to hell). If you only have venial sins on your account then you will go to Purgatory, prior to eventually attaining heaven (but it could be after hundreds of years of pain and anguish). Have I got this right?
Yes, this is pretty close but not quite right. You said that the Protestant justification saves and they can't lose that salvation. Only about half of Protestants believe that, and I would say the majority don't. You have whole debates online between Protestant pastors about whether you can lose your salvation or not because maybe, perhaps even most think you can. The Catholic side is mostly right. The Bible talks about death that separate us from christ. Mortal sins. But anyone anytime can repent from one. And we don't know the time in purgatory. It could even be just a day. However long it takes for Christ's Precious Blood to finish sanctifying us. Nobody, mostly nobody, it's fully sanctified on this earth. One other thing I would say is that people don't just slip up and commit mortal sin. It's a free and full choice with a full consent and full knowledge of what you are doing against God. Otherwise it's not mortal.
@@luxordfaith8506 Jesus once said: "Whoever sins against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, neither in this age or in the age to come" (Matthew 12;32) What do you think He meant by "this age" and "the age to come" ?
@jerome2642 in revelations it is said that God is to make a new Heaven and a new earth for the old heaven and earth had passed away. In Mathew Jesus talks about gathering the faithful in His Right hand and his enemies into his left, where the left would be all sent to hell even the ones who preached His name (though it was implied that their hearts were far from Him) while His faithful were taken to paradise. In both cases the promise is that those who love and devote themselves to God will be taken to a new place with God and everyone else will be cast out with no hope of a retrial.
All I can say is that Mr Steve will not become a very Good Catholic if he is not became a very Good and knowledgeable protestant, at the end of the day especially this day that we can have access to all necessary information to find the truth, and he just choose to know the truth outside of He's previous church. Truth always set us free and bring us to our real family which is catholic church.
We need to remain aglow in the grace/unmerited love of God: Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gain access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. Romans 6:22 But now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit that you have leads to sanctification, and its end is eternal life. Romans 6 unequivocally teaches that although we have been freed from sin, nevertheless we can freely choose to become obedient slaves of righteousness or obedient slaves of sin which we used to be - a case of a dog going back to his own vomit. God has not taken away our free will.

The works we Catholics do are the Sacraments. They were all established by Christ, two of them specifically named as essential for salvation. We are creatures of both body and soul. That is why God always establishes rituals for us, and in this New and Everlasting Covenant, He has established rituals which are now salvific. The rituals of the Old Covenant could not save us. The rituals of the New Covenant now save us. Christ established the sacramental life for the sake of our salvation. These are the good works Paul speaks of in Eph. 2: 10 that we should walk in.
Hello Michael, thank you so much for your reply. I would not say that Sacraments are works, in the sense that we do them actively for our salvation and derive their efficacy from us performing them; rather, they are deeds that are efficacious regardless of our involvement (ex opere operato), and are our participation in Christ's love, through which we receive grace, and as you said there two essentials to salvation being baptism and Eucharist. The works that we should perform as mentioned in Ephesians are corporal acts of mercy, feeding the poor, clothing the least of these, and caring for the sick, as we see in the parable of the sheep and the goats.

Great interview! I’m so happy I’m Catholic. Thanks mom and dad (up in heaven).
You have a humble heart which is why God revealed to you His truth for God hides His truth from the proud.

This is a great episode.
Bingo.
Protestantism is no different than Gnostic/New Age “Do what thou wilt.”
Everytime I hear somwone say this it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Keep up the fight 💪
Throw in some beautiful concepts such as once save always saved and you can see how it became very popular very quickly
Wait til he finds out catholicism is too...And judaism...
Excellent conversation! Do Protestants comprehend that Jesus prayed before dying that they all be one (John 17)? Do Protestants understand that one reason for unbelievers is they see this division which implies that there isn’t One Truth?
I honestly don't think they think about that. I'm going to make a video on that soon though
Exactly. Well said. Good job looking up and reading different resources.

Catholic Church was western church which needed reform, thanks be to God he gave us Martin Luther.

Great topic I’ve been wondering about them.
Excellent guys 👏👏👏

It was the council of Trent that said that you are saved by faith and good works. If you disagree, you are anathema.

I think there should also be a "Solus Paulus" - it's the only part of the Bible they get their doctrine from.
👍 great show I love being Catholic
Just like being saved.
If I’m saved, I don’t need to ever
Pray
Go to church
Read the Bible
Help the poor.
Why ? If I’m saved.
15:00 inspired me to this:
The Five Catholic Solas:
Scripture alone; as discerned and derived from Tradition by the Magisterium.
Grace alone; grown and increased by our cooperation.
Faith alone; knowing that our obedience will be rewarded through His grace.
Christ alone; through His Body and Bride the Church.
Glory to God alone; that we might share in that glory.
Sola Opinion alone
Only my opinion of the Bible counts.
No man can tell me what to believe
One problem for anyone who is Christian is falling into the trap of worshiping the Jesus of our imaginations which is another form of idolatry. It seems to me that sola scriptura or sola fida is trying bottle up Jesus and restrict Him to your way of thinking which is spiritual laziness.
Sola Scripture is worshipping the book and isolates people from God by worshipping the book.

I have a question. If God cares about our good works. Why does the book Isaiah mention that our good deeds are like filthy rags?
That's a whole different context in Isaiah talking about evil people in israel. But our own good works could be considered trash as well. The good works God is talking about are those done in faith by his grace and out of love for him. They are God born instead of self-born.
‘Believing’ is ‘becoming’ Christ or Christ like ❤️
Grace is something we receive but don't deserve. Mercy is something we don't receive that we deserve. Through grace we received salvation. Through mercy we didn't receive the punishment that Jesus took for us.
"O Sole Mio" doesn't mean "O Me Alone." It means "O My Sun!" It is a song about the beauty of Naples, Italy.
We would recommend this one instead for somebody like that.
What Catholics really believe about Mary: ua-cam.com/video/t9orgxZDUYs/v-deo.html
give him this All Marian Doctrines are based on solid, not loose, Scriptural grounds; some of the understanding of which is blocked by the hardness of our hearts, how could we remain blind to the relation of the Assumption of Mary to the Ascension of The Lord Jesus? You or I as long as we claim sola scriptura?😃😃
Martin Luther
Christ, our Savior, was the real and natural fruit of Mary's virginal womb . .
Even Martin Luther preached after his break with Rome on the Feast of the Visitation (July 2, 1532) --
"She, the Lady above heaven and earth, must have a heart so humble that she might have no shame in washing the swaddling clothes or preparing a bath for St. John the Baptist, like a servant girl. What humility! It would surely have been more just to have arranged for her a golden coach, pulled by 4,000 horses, and to cry and proclaim as the carriage proceeded: 'Here passes the woman who is raised FAR ABOVE all women, indeed above the WHOLE human race.'"
Five years later, preaching on the same feast day, Luther said --
"She was not filled with pride by this praise...this immense praise: 'No woman is like unto thee! Thou art more than an EMPRESS or a QUEEN....blessed above all nobility, wisdom, or saintliness!'"
(LUTHER'S WORKS 36:208; 45:107 as cited in REFUTING THE ATTACK ON MARY by Fr. Mateo available from Catholic Answers)
Heinrich Bullinger, Cranmer's brother-in-law, Zwingli's successor said:
"What pre-eminence in the eyes of God the Virgin Mary had on account of her piety, her faith, her purity, her saintliness and all her virtues, so that she can hardly be compared with any of the other saints, but should by rights be rather elevated above all of them..."
French Reformed pastor Charles Drelincourt said in the 17th century --
"We do not simply believe that God has favoured the holy and blessed Virgin more than all the Patriarchs and the Prophets, but also that He has exalted her above all Seraphim. The angels can only qualify as servants of the Son of God, the creatures and workmanship of his hands; but the holy Virgin is not only the servant and the creature but also the Mother of this great and living God."
(from MARY, MOTHER OF ALL CHRISTIANS [p. 89] by Calvinist theologian Max Thurian who later converted to the Catholic faith)
The titles of "Mediatrix" or "Co-Redemptrix" for Mary have not been officially defined so those dates are wrong. They do reflect the Marian piety and devotion of many great Popes, Saints, and Doctors of the Church
John Calvin
Helvidius displayed excessive ignorance in concluding that Mary must have had many sons, because Christ's 'brothers' are sometimes mentioned.
Huldreich Zwingli
He turns, in September 1522, to a lyrical defense of the perpetual virginity of the mother of Christ . .
Zwingli had printed in 1524 a sermon on 'Mary, ever virgin, mother of God.'
I have never thought, still less taught, or declared publicly, anything concerning the subject of the ever Virgin Mary, Mother of our salvation, which could be considered dishonourable, impious, unworthy or evil . . . I believe with all my heart according to the word of holy gospel that this pure virgin bore for us the Son of God and that she remained, in the birth and after it, a pure and unsullied virgin, for eternity.
Heinrich Bullinger
Bullinger (d. 1575) . . . defends Mary's perpetual virginity . . . and inveighs against the false Christians who defraud her of her rightful praise: 'In Mary everything is extraordinary and all the more glorious as it has sprung from pure faith and burning love of God.' She is 'the most unique and the noblest member' of the Christian community . . .
'The Virgin Mary . . . completely sanctified by the grace and blood of her only Son and abundantly endowed by the gift of the Holy Spirit and preferred to all . . . now lives happily with Christ in heaven and is called and remains ever-Virgin and Mother of God.'
John Wesley (Founder of Methodism)
I believe... he [Jesus Christ] was born of the blessed Virgin, who, as well after as she
brought him forth, continued a pure and unspotted virgin.
I agree with what Steve says about the most educated in the faith Protestants converting to Catholicism and the least knowledgeable catholics open to converting to Protestantism.
So was Steve Ray saved as a Protestant ? Because if he was saved, then I Know I am also
There's no such thing as being saved.
At 22 minutes and 15 seconds, the guest speaker grossly misrepresents the once saved always saved view. That’s a total misunderstanding of it.
Jesus did good works. He choose the apostles that’s good works. He gave us the Gospel that’s good work. He suffered and carried the heavy cross that’s good works and so much more Jesus did good works. Now that’s not by faith alone.
Steve did you go through a Watchman Nee period ?

Thank u
23 minutes & 15 seconds: believe is the act of free will. Receiving a gift is very different from doing a work. A gift is received not earned.
Exactly!
I’m trying to do a little research on the Eastern Orthodoxy, and I’m just wondering if there was a schism in the Orthodoxy that caused the one Orthodox Church to split into the many Churches we see today, or was it something else that happened?
The essence energy distinction that contributes the understanding of the Trinity,” is a big one “.
Read Answering Orthodoxy, by Michael Lofton.

The solas are in regards to God's salvific work not general statements regarding scripture generally or glory generally.
Sola scriptura is not true in any shape or form.

@@larrywells5908imagine not knowing the catholic church left books out of the bible...
@@lettersandwordsandstuffsYou keep posting this comment but haven’t provided any examples.
Both sides admit that we are saved by grace, through faith. However - after that point - just an observation:
a) Protestant Justification saves.
They also both left books out the bible so we don't know fully what to follow...
@@CatholicTruthOfficialsorry, protestant here, when did Jesus teach about Purgatory?

Jesus once said: "Whoever sins against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, neither in this age or in the age to come" (Matthew 12;32)
What do you think He meant by "this age" and "the age to come" ?

Ray has read 10,000 more books than you have but your demonic Pride tells you that you're right. He studied with the top Protestant apologists and had a deep prayer life with Christ. Let us know when you've had any of that. Again, demonic pride.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial He could read a million books and still not arrive at the Truth. He is double minded by his own testimony. Always learning and never coming to the knowledge of truth! How many times has he read the Holy Bible cover to cover and humbly studied each word and verse constantly asking the Holy Ghost to illuminate not only his mine but deep down to his spiritual heart, soul, and spirit? Did he claim to be Born Again and by what testimony? I didn’t hear any convincing evidence! Biblically speaking he is adding 2 plus 2 and getting everything but four!
Five solas? thats a contradiction of terms. No wonder they have so many holes and no clarity.
5 “solas”..you keep using that word..l do not think it means what you think it means
It does not mean even what its inventors mean.
Lol. Good quote
